Good little neighborhood joint with no frills, decent food served up at a reasonable price. Be prepared for a little wait unless you call ahead as this is real food that is cooked to order.

Large chocolate, soft serve cone hit the spot. Good portion, good price. Friendly staff, open late.

I was a little angry on my last post about the surcharge for using a credit card . It was not my intention to down grade this establishment which has been around for may years . I have patronizing Dairy Dip for 61 years an they have always provided quality food and great prices as well as great customer service. The manager has reached out and explained that an employee removed the sign announcing the reason for the surcharge for using credit card. And the surcharge will not keep me from patronizing Dairy Dip.

The customer service was great. The ice cream was icy and not creamy. It didn't taste like icecream, but rather watery milk. The hardshell looked like chocolate, but had a wax taste. Sweet place to cool off, but not a place for icecream lovers.

David and I had a craving during these *unprecedented times* and Company Burger wasn't open, so we decided to go on a burger hunt. Well, first it was a snowball hunt, but either way you look at it, we ended up here. The place has been around for like 60 years and it's nothing spectacular, but they serve all kinds of classic foods like burgers, shakes, ice cream, hot dogs, etc. You walk up and pay and eat outside, or in your car (if the times you are in are unprecedented). We got cheeseburgers and David got onion rings and I got fries. The burgers were great. Maybe I was just super hungry, but it hit the spot. The fries were aiight- they could have used some salt, but I'm not complaining. For dessert, we got vanilla ice cream which comes soft serve style. WOW. OMG- it was delicious! I got a small and scarfed the whole thing- you know I can eat, y'all. They can make you a sundae, if you want to pay extra for a topping, but I was pleased with just the soft serve. We will definitely be back and it's pretty silly that I had never been here, even though I'm a lifelong Westbanker.

From the moment we arrived, the food, service, and ambiance were absolutely outstanding. The staff was incredibly attentive, making us feel welcome throughout our meal. The portions are generous one of my sisters ordered a salad that was so large she had plenty left to take home for her husband. My other sister ordered the breakfast croissant, and I had the smash burger, which practically melted in my mouth. Of course, we had to save room for dessert! We shared the vanilla bean crème brûlée and the beignet fries, and both were absolutely delicious. If you enjoy a good cocktail, you'll love their drink menu too the cocktails are amazing, and the prices are just as impressive. What really set this restaurant apart, though, was the customer service. I had a small issue with my debit card, and the owner personally called me afterward to make sure everything had been taken care of. That level of care and attention is rare and speaks volumes about how much they value their customers. Brown Butter Depot has definitely earned a spot on my list of repeat visits. If you're visiting New Orleans, don't miss this hidden gem in Gretna. I gave them five stars, but honestly, they deserve ten!

Comfortable but classy atmosphere, with football on the TV in the dining room. (Welcome to Louisiana!) Owner took our drink and food orders (we were ready! - we had already previewed the menu on Yelp) and everything was delivered quickly. Husband had the Smokey Mountain Burger ($16), medium, with fries. The fries were crispy and the burger was so good! I'm not a big burger fan, but it was cooked just right and had plenty of flavor. I opted for the Thai riblets app ($14) which was served with a small side of their slaw and the "fried" Brussel sprouts app ($10). O...M...G! The sprouts came with a side dressing of mayo/lemon/garlic (?), of which I was not a fan; eat them plain - you'll be glad you did. Slaw was great - not too much mayonnaise - but I scraped off the seasoning topping because it was too salty for me. Thai riblets were fall-off-the-bone good without being over seasoned/sauced. We finished my husband's burger then took my leftovers home. They reheated very well. It's not the cheapest place, but we felt like we got our money's worth from our meal and would totally return. There's some other things on that menu calling our names. :)

And I'm ashamed to admit how much the salad that was almost all spinach leaves with exactly 5 shrimp (added on for $10, my bad for not asking how many were included but come on) cost me in total. So. I'm sure other people dig this place, they've been around a long time, but nah.

This has been a go-to for us for years every time we came home. And we were very hungry of course so let's see how things went. Once we unpacked and rested for a bit, we went online to check out their menu. For our orders, we usually selected their seafood platters which are reasonably priced. Their drive-thru system is pretty good for pickup orders which can get backed up once in a while. But no worries here for us. My selection was the any two choices platter which were thin fried catfish and soft shell crab. Everything was good and well seasoned. The only setback was they didn't have enough fries in the box. Normally, their to-go orders would have plentiful fries or other sides to your liking. But not this one. Other than that, I was full with my order. We'll continue to use New Orleans Hamburger and Seafood the next time we come home :)

So we went outside of the city and located this place for breakfast that turned into lunch. I wanted to try the King Cake daiquiri but it wasn't frozen enough and what they let me sample tasted terrible. I ordered the two meats or proteins plate with the garlic butter fries and slaw. My two proteins were the thick fried catfish and fried frog legs. Also, the plate comes with two hush puppies. I also got the fried green tomatoes. The fish was fresh and frog legs were fresh and the fried tomatoes were fresh the slaw and hush puppies were crispy and fresh. The service was kind and professional. Service was not long there was confusion one side of restaurant was sit down and the servers take your orders. The other side was place your order at the counter and get a seat/table and the server brings the food to the table. There restaurateurs seemed like family and friends and longtime patrons. We got fountain drinks (sweet tea, soda, water). I recommend if not use to butter garlic fries get it on the side. It was ok for me but my friends didn't like it. It tastes like onion sour cream potato chips.

The place was mostly empty but figured it may have been an off time. I like the open space and natural light from the various windows. Also enjoyed that there were a few board games and other types of games to play in the restaurant as you wait for your food. (I am enjoying that trend that restaurants will have games available for customers.) We ordered the chicken sandwich of course. And as a side, I got the kale salad. I have to admit, the chicken was not bad, but I have had much better flavored chicken in the city so it meh on the chicken. I enjoyed what I assume were house made pickels too. The chicken had a nice crunch to it, but I think the wow factor was missing. There wasn't enough seasoning and flavor to make me love it. BUT That kale salad now. THAT is gift that this city does not have plenty of. I was talking about that salad for weeks after. I LOVED the ingredients in it; I do not even remember what was in it, I just know it was magical in flavor. I hope the new place still has those salads, because it would be a tragic loss. I plan to try the new place out soon.
