Dairy Queen is one of those places that I need to be in the mood for. Their ice cream has a very unique flavor so whenever I feel like a place where there are choices, I will head over to some other frozen treat joints. Dairy queen is like ice cream with stuff on it, could be some delicious pnuts or toppings but the base is always the same ice cream. Don't get me wrong, I like it well enough just need to be in the mood. I love the peanut butter blizzards and when I have a craving I am all over the dipped cones. My son loves the standard plain (won't let him eat choco yet, so he loves it without knowing). I like that this location is nice and clean and there is always someone working on cleaning or being responsible. This is my favorite DQ around the area. They seems like to put in slightly more toppings than other stores for same prices. This place is awesome, they always make Strawberry freezes for me, which is not on the menu. Came by here for the first time a few days ago, since we were in the area. Went up to the counter, put in our order, got our order, and munched away at our ice cream. Had no issues with service. There is something we have here that our brethren in SF or Oakland doesn't have...Dairy Queen! Yeah, they have some at neighboring cities like Vallejo, Concord, or Heyward. But nada in San Fran or O-Town. Conspiracy in that maybe Diary Queen is too hip for these wine and cheese snoot-nose lovers. Missing out on the Blizzards, sundaes, malt shakes, dipped cones, or banana split must be killing them. Plus, they also have a soft serve ice-cream. But if you come into one of the DQ, you must get the blizzards. This is one of the few place that I know that have its own place. Usually DQ are in the mall and is team up with Orange Julius. The place is very small and have a few tables inside the place. Decked out in white when I was there. It's facing the mall across 183rd Street in Cerritos. Looking for a delicious ice cream treats, you don't have to spend up the wazzu like in Pink Berry in Santa Monica. That I never understand even tasting it on why it would be that much. Maybe it's me, but I don't think the more it cost, the better it taste. That theory is whack. Was in tonight to get a few Blizzards and Ice Cream cake. I grabbed the ice cream cake and got in line with my friends. We ordered our Blizzards and my friend picked up the tab. The cashier walked away to make them and I set the ice cream cake on the counter waiting to pay. Another employee walked out and rung me up and I stepped aside. The original cashier returned and asked me if I paid for the cake which I responded yes. This started her interrogation of me. I told her I turned down the receipt, showed her my phone with the $16.99 charge on it. She asked one employee, not the one that helped me if She rang me up and she said no. We always come here for "buy one get one .50" during their blizzard specials. They have all the sizes available here even the extra small cups - which is perfect for a quick snack. We always get the classic blizzard flavors: Oreo and chocolate chip cookie dough. It always tastes the same (they put plenty of cookies and fruits in these blizzards that you are not given all soft serve and wanting more toppings) and they always have the classic flavors. They have other desserts as well: ice cream cakes, shakes, and soft serve ice cream. If you need an ice cream cake pick them up right when they open - the popular flavors sell out quickly and they do not restock for awhile. They also have Orange Julius drinks which are better than their own desert drinks. The Orange Julius drinks are not that sweet and are lighter with no candy or fruits pieces in them. They do sell the basic combo meal of hot dog and chips with drink, and nothing else compared to other DQ Grills. There are plenty of tables and chairs inside to sit and relax. The parking is easy as it is located in a plaza full with other stores. The workers in this location are 50/50 some are friendly and others really do not interact with you unless customers asks them questions. The line during Summer can be out the door and sometimes there is only one worker who is getting the orders and also making them which holds up the line, so pack your patience. read more
