I think The Beef Barn is a perfect example of an establishment that has done things right and stayed loyal to their customers, therefore having their customers stay loyal to them. You always know what you're getting at The Beef Barn and that's exactly how it should be. I typically visit the other location because it is closer to me, but I was in the Bellingham area and was happy to be able to visit this location. I will continue visiting The Beef Barn in the future. I love it and I hope they continue to be successful for years and years to come!

I don't think the people working there even know what anything other than ranch is. I only go here because I have a ton of nieces and nephews who love this garbage. They will usually forget a toy in the happy meals. I went to this place during the monopoly game last month. They did not hand out any game pieces, tried to gaslight me into telling me all the pieces were digital. I told them that is not how it works for what I ordered and they were less than helpful. I cannot believe how filthy and unkept this Dairy Queen Grill & Chill in Bellingham is. The moment you walk in, you're hit with how nasty the place looks. The floors are sticky and disgusting, clearly not mopped or cleaned properly in ages. Tables were dirty and covered in crumbs and smears, and the counters were equally nasty - greasy, grimy, and just unappetizing. I went in just to buy a cake, and even for that quick transaction, I was appalled. The entire store gave off the feeling of neglect and zero pride in cleanliness or customer experience. Honestly, I wouldn't trust eating anything prepared here. The lack of basic sanitation alone is enough to make you question what's going on behind the scenes in the kitchen. This was my first and definitely my last time here. With so many other options, there's no reason anyone should waste their money in a place that's this dirty and poorly maintained. Shame on the management for allowing such conditions. read more

It is very hard to communicate with employees. I often ask for extra ranch and ketchup. Employees seem to guard these condiments like they come out of there paycheck (very Stingy) I just paid $25 dinner for 2 people at a fast food restaurant if want some extra ranch give it me with a smile. read more

However, it was far from closed and in fact, the ice cream counter to order is inside, protected from the weather. They have the classics and basics, along with more unique flavors and a rotating flavor of the month. I went with peanut butter oreo and caramel caribou (flavor of the month). They offer different sizes and each one brings a generous amount according to the price. We enjoyed the ice cream outside at one of their picnic tables. They have some plastic traditional picnic tables, but also some stone circular tables which get a little uncomfortable over time. The ice cream was great! The only disappointing part was that the peanut butter oreo had a very light peanut butter base, but it was packed with oreo chunks so it made up for it. The caramel caribou was very smooth and packed with caramel swirls and caramel stuffed chocolate bites. They weren't overwhelming sweet which was good. They also offer half gallons of ice cream to go in select flavors including the flavor of the month as well as merchandise including tshirts, hoodies, hats, and stuffed cows. We were very satisfied with our visit.

The girl making it seemed like she would rather be literally anywhere else, and the attitude definitely matched the sandwich. Then came the bread situation. Apparently there wasn't enough regular bread available for a giant sub, so mine was basically pieced together like a bread jigsaw puzzle. The finishing touch was the bacon. I watched the employee move the nice pieces of bacon aside with his hand, then scoop up the crumbled bits from the bottom of the pan and dump those on my sandwich instead. Nothing says "$20+ giant sub" quite like getting the bacon equivalent of the crumbs at the bottom of a potato chip bag. I'm actually sitting in the parking lot writing this because I don't think I've ever gotten such a poorly made sandwich from this location. I've always liked coming here, which is why tonight was so disappointing. I'll definitely think twice before coming back on a Monday night. Apparently weekends are when the good bread, bacon, grill -- and enthusiasm -- are available.
