I did not update my review several years ago because I was disappointed I am happy to say on this trip - the food was good French fries are plentiful in an order and you can split them - they are $9 which is pricey in my book for ordinary fries that did not transport well - onion rings were tastier and fared much better during the travel time My clam roll was tasty, not greasy bellies a decent size on a nice hot dog roll I also got a hot dog which was delicious We were going to do doordash but the increase in price was ridiculous - not Rosewoods fault . We called in and picked it up ourselves . I was dismayed though when I looked at the receipt - they are charging either 2 or 3.5 percent takeout fee - this frosts my buttons. The packaging on the food items was minimal- would have been the same I'm sure if we dined with n - so we were charged for putting it in a paper bag and being handed through a window? Much less work than if all of us ate there - you would have had to clear and wipe tables I'm curious if there is a done in fee as well - based on the fee I would consider not going here - we did a rather large order for 6 people and the fees add up read more

Keeping the "Summer of Sweets" idea going while we traveled, we decided to stop and get some ice cream after dinner...because calories don't count when you're traveling, right? It was my first time visiting this spot, with an interior restaurant, and a walk up ice cream window. They offer a good variety of ice cream flavors, and have a nice outdoor area to enjoy your ice cream. The window attendant was friendly and quick to answer a few questions we had about some oddly named flavors. I got a cup of the "salted caramel chocolate pretzel", which was delicious! The food was great and the staff were lovely. The ambiance leaves a lot to be desired-though I don't think there's much the restaurant can do about it. The parking lot was packed and I was nervous there might be a fender bender pulling out because there were so many cars pulling in/out simultaneously, people wandering out distractedly with their children, etc. I had to walk through the deep ice cream lines to even access the restaurant. I paid $29 for a lobster roll and I think it was $3.50 for a small soda. The feel inside is much more that of a fast food-style restaurant. You order at the counter and bus your table yourself. The way the menu is positioned on the wall, if it's your first time there and need to read it, you are hovering right in front of others' tables while they're eating and also blocking the door's entrance. I ended up seated next to two tables with young children in the back because the place serves ice cream and clientele is understandably family-friendly. I've given four stars to Rosewood because-now that I understand what it is-I think it's great for what it is. At the same time, I don't see myself returning unless it's at a time of day when there are about a fifth as many people as there were tonight. If you're not going to make it to the Cape this year, this is a great way to get a taste of the roadside clam places, locally. read more

Took an adventure and we drove down to Bellingham to check out this plate. I ate the chicken tender plate and a hot dog, and the monster cookie ice cream. Chicken tender and hot dog were good, reminds me the summer is officially here! Got the ice cream and that was yummy! My husband ordered coleslaw and a tuna sandwich, it was fine with him but not memorable. Not pictured was the lobster roll, my husband was disappointed with the portion. Had a great lunch here. We got the crab cakes ($8.50 for two) and fried clam/fried shrimp combo plate that comes with onion rings and fries ($32.50). The onion rings are lightly battered and thin - best kind of onion rings! The fried seafood was tasty - we liked the shrimp better than the clams surprisingly. They also have a few non seafood options - club sandwiches, BLT, hot dogs, and tenders to name a few. There are SO many different ice cream flavors, so i will definitely be returning several times to get ice cream over the summer! They are only a seasonal place, so definitely worth checking out while they're open for the season. On our last visit I ordered the BLT, I was a bit disappointed. The sandwich had lots of lettuce and tomato slices but only two paper-thin strips of bacon. This was recommended to me for their fried clams. Mind you, these are New England style fried clams. With the bellies. So they're huge. In my opinion the only way to eat them. Rosewood doesn't disappoint! They have plates with fried clams, scallops, or fish accompanied by french fries and onion rings. I'm not an onion ring person so they let me get more fries instead. Order at the counter and then pick a seat. The decor is vaguely diner-ish, air conditioned, and clean. Now to the clams. They're properly large, they weren't super greasy, the oil tasted fresh (this was also towards the end of the day so a good sign that they keep their fryers clean), and were piping hot. As a plus, you get served on a tray with wax paper (this is another New England thing) although on a styrofoam plate. Exactly what I was hoping for. They also serve ice cream (order at the windows outside). They had large lines when I went so they are popular. I was stuffed after the clams and fries so didn't try the ice cream this time. I'll be back to give it a try. Finally, they do take cards, **however** they can't put tips through on them. So bring some cash (they do have an ATM also) so you can tip the staff for the great work they do. read more

I've been going to Rosewood for decades. Usually my wife and I get Haddock in some shape or form. I had the Haddock dinner a few weeks back and was totally disappointed. I have long been told that if the batter easily falls off your haddock, the fish was previously frozen. Not charging that my fish was not fresh but by the time I got the meal home, (2 miles away) the coating on the fish was not on the fish. Fries and onion rings were luke warm at best. My wife and I each had Haddock plates this evening. Ya I went back because I gave them the reasonable doubt and thought my last meal at Rosewood as described above was a fluke. Well it wasn't a fluke. More like the start of a trend. The batter was falling off both meals, I asked for my FFP to be well done but they were limp like on my wife's dinner. The onion rings were luke warm. My meal and my wifes tasted lie they were steamed not fried. The steam just kills the crispiness in their Styrofoam containers. Smart food takeout places vent the top of the container to let the steam out. You would think that was as bad as a haddock dinner could be but you would be wrong. The worse thing about these lousy haddock dinners was the price. $45.00 for two haddock dinners. And the portions were not very large. Went here the other day for my son's birthday. He and my wife shared a $41 dollar clam and scallop platter. It would've been $35 but they charge $3 extra for clam and $3 for scallops. Big pile of onion rings and French fries. About 6 scallops and maybe a dozen clams. The fries and onion rings were hot but the seafood was lukewarm. Standard frozen fries. Not seasoned in any way. Don't get me wrong , The seafood was ok tasting. Just bland and for the price, not much of it. I ordered a chicken tender platter and again: big pile of frozen fries. Not seasoned at all. Not even salt. The 4 tenders were those flat Tyson frozen chicken fingers. Just like they come out of the package. No seasoning. 16 bucks. Pretty uninspired. They asked if I wanted any sauces with my chicken and I asked for Buffalo and BBQ sauce. I got a little plastic tub of generic BBQ sauce and I got a big cup of Franks red Hot for which I was charged an extra $1.30 (which I would've passed on if they had mentioned the price). Ok the food was wholesome enough but way too much money for what you got. Bland and generic. I also was irritated by the extra charges. We will not be rushing back. We have live in Bellingham for 14 years and have just tried Rosewood after so many rave reviews. I don't know how so many got this so wrong. We ordered a scallop plate, a chili cheese dog, a frappe and sherbet cooler. Our meals were ready rather quickly. The hot dog was long and skinny, not how I like them ;-). I got exactly 9 scallops with a huge mound of onion rings and french fries. The scallops were okay, coating doesn't stick and I added salt and lemon to them. The portion of the o-rings and fries we large but they were largely flavorless. I ate maybe four rings and 6 fries, not worth the effort to eat flavorless fillers. Our drink order was called and then the server said ohh wait that's not yours and took the drink from my spouses hand. I'm disappointed in the lackluster meal. We won't be back, I'd drive to Dennis MA next time I want fried scallops and go to Captain Frostys. read more
