Nice little newer Dairy Queen in Indio. Stopped by for a post lunch treat. This location is great as it's near downtown Indio and also has a drive thru, the real selling point. We don't have any drive thru Dairy Queen's where I'm from as far as I know, so this was a treat. As I mentioned this is a newer store and thus has a nice drive thru, landscaping, and fresh paint. Strictly from the drive thru service was great. The gentlemen taking the orders was clear, quick and helpful when we inquired about their lactose options. Polite customer service and efficient. Can always appreciate that. Walked away with three ice creams for the car for about $17. I had a hot fudge sundae, a classic, and it was delicious. Love the hot fudge. Pro-Tip: It's a good day for ice-cream in the Coachella valley 365 because it's typically always hot here. Ordered a medium vanilla swirl. I remember the days in my hometown these were like a couple bucks. But this is 2023, and CPI and CORE inflation is at an all time high. Medium swirl = very big swirl. Almost cannot be contained by the size of the cone. Texture is very creamy and brings back all the nostalgia to those halcyon summer days growing up in the 'burbs of Chicago. I just wish they had Dairy Queen in Los Angeles county. While technically they do in a mall in Northridge, that hardly counts. This treat should be more universal. read more

Stood at the counter for about 7 mins waiting for someone to take our order. There were several employees in the prep area, and finally one who was also doing the drive thru came over and helped us. She was friendly, and quick . It's too bad if they have her doing both window and counter, not an easy task. The location was not busy. I live walking distance to the location in Bermuda dunes, but choose to drive here for the better service and quality of food. Okay, I was soooo excited when I found out Indio was getting a Chill n Grill! I absolutely love the chicken strip baskets with the white gravy so much I always order an extra gravy to also dip the Texas toast and fries in too! The first time I stopped I went through the drive through ordered a six piece chicken strip basket with an extra side of gravy! After paying at the drive through the girl tells me we are out of gravy as she hands me my meal! I tell the girl this is the only reason I stopped specifically for the gravy! She explains she is sorry, I didn't want any extra dips, driving away In disappointment I looked at my receipt only to notice I was charged for an extra gravy!!!! My second return, thinking my first had to be an isolated incident a week later, I drive into the line at the drive through and once again order my six piece basket and extra gravy! I had 3 vehicles in front of me so at this point it's wait in line for nothing or take my chicken strip basket as is! Made a big mistake to stop here for ice cream. After being open nearly a month no one knew how to make ice cream. No chocolate was available and vanilla had absolutely no taste. One of the help dropped bag of ketchup But made no effort to clean it up. I brought it to the attention of Manager and I use that title loosely.
