I stopped in with my absolutely beautiful girlfriend for some yummy ice cream to satisfy a late night craving we had before they closed. Service was prompt, maybe because it was close to closing and they wanted us out before they locked up for the night. Staff was even mad chill with us making small talk. I never realized Dairy Queen sold burgers but this one does. They have plenty of seating to dine in and they even have a really cute outdoor seating area, though it was a bit chilly for us to sit outside. Ice cream was as expected, suburb. The only thing sweeter than the ice cream was the sweet kiss my girlfriend gave me from across the table that not only melted my heart but my ice cream too. Never thought anyone could melt my heart in this way but God always has a plan for those that love Him. I have no complaints about this location (so far). I only visited because we had points when place used to be good. The offers on the app are terrible. The wonderful staff members that were there are gone and the people that are there are difficult to understand. The employees were friendly and bring the food to your table. The restaurant is brand new and kept clean. Today was a great day to enjoy their outdoor seating. I stopped at this Dairy Queen on my long trek from Massachusetts to Pennsylvania. It was the perfect spot to stop, right off I-84 in Middletown NY. It was the perfect bathroom stop, even with the "customer use only" sign. I had intentions of purchasing ice cream anyway, because if I didn't, there was a gas station with a convenience store (and I would assume bathrooms) right beyond the parcel of land that Dairy Queen lies. But, I wanted a chocolate cone for the road, so I stopped here. First of all, not sure why, but the bathrooms are locked inside. You must get a key from the cashier area. Sort of inconvenient, especially when there is a long line and many other customers think that you are trying to cut in on them. But, the bathroom was clean and that was what mattered the most. The restaurant itself was pretty small for a Dairy Queen. I will give them credit for the outdoor patio area, which is pleasant for the three months it can be used, but overall, the inside area had a choppy and clustered feel about it. Definitely could be more spacious with some renovations and layout changes. Staff were alright. I felt that the service was good in the drive thru, but inside seemed discombobulated. Employees were arguing and just seemed in disarray. Value also seemed poor, and is the largest reason for the three star review. A small cone was much more expensive than my local DQ's in Massachusetts, and was much smaller and stingier. It didn't seem like a good value like my local DQ normally does. Alright, but not the best. I'd only come back if I was driving through the area again. Not sure how many DQ's are near this one, but you may want to go to another one if you like to get the best value for your money. 3 stars. read more

We stopped here on our drive from Connecticut to Pennsylvania a few weeks ago for lunch. The two Dairy Queen restaurants we usually go to in Connecticut are excellent. They have fast service and the workers are very pleasant in the food is very good. This Dairy Queen sucked compared to those. the amount of wait time at this Dairy Queen was much longer than the ones we are used to. The hamburger at this Dairy Queen was much dryer and tougher to eat then the ones I'm used to. It is a very small Dairy Queen on the inside and it took a long time for them to make 10 chicken strips and one small cheeseburger. Overall I do not recommend this Dairy Queen due to its slow service and poor quality of the hamburger read more

My friend and I had lunch here yesterday. The service was much better than the last time I was here. The menu items are simply fast food but there are some more unique things like cheese curds and hit pretzel sticks also. It's nice that you can order your ice cream and then they will make it later, rather than having to go back up for a separate transaction. My attempt to have a "fast food" lunch here wound up being not-so-fast, but not necessarily for bad reasons. This place is BUSY, and the staff work hard to keep up. It feels like they need to work a bit more on their coordination and efficiency. Sometimes the people working at the cashier have to do double duty to deliver food to some of the tables, and the registers may be unoccupied for brief periods of time. But the dedication is there, and the food is good. I like the $5 lunch combos they currently provide, which include a drink and some soft-serve. I like their fries here more than the fries at the "big 3" burger chains. But sometimes it takes a while to get that soft-serve dessert. The lady working at the drive up was really very nice. She gave my dog a cookie (biscuit) and said how cute she was and how nice her coat was too. I thought that was really nice. The service was stellar. I was outside the door with my toddler and stroller with baby. A gentleman who works for DQ opened the door for me. Long story short, my toddler had to use the bathroom and my baby was crying because he was hungry. I locked the key in the women's bathroom. Plus, other things that happened. What could have been an over all harried experience was made pleasant because of the staff. The staff was so helpful and friendly. They are only getting two stars for this visit because I like Blizzards. Unfortunately the young employees here do not seem to have anyone explaining the importance of customer service and getting the orders correct to them. Our cashier was completely distracted by antics of her fellow employees, and I had to repeat our order a few times, as simple as it was. Even then when we received it, the order was wrong and missing ingredients. When I took it back to have it corrected, the looks of annoyance were not hard to miss as it was done in complete view of any and all customers waiting at the front. Ok so I must say that I'm here at least 3-4 times a week because of the 5 buck lunch. My gf is hooked on the chicken strips Its way better than other fast food places because you get the food drink and ice cream for $5.41 with tax. If you go inside to sit it can be a little confusing. I think they do a much better job on the drive thru. Overall all the staff are great, always friendly and helpful. Just a shout out for todays day shift leader Tina. While going thru the drive thru it appeared that a few orders were getting backed up. She jumped into action and filled two orders herself and proceeded to get me thru quickly. She is a great asset and I can see why she is a leader. Kudos. Was very upset that when we walked in the manager had her jacket on with her purse on her shoulder filling a large bag with her dinner ! She yelled to one of the employees to come help us. As to our disgusting surprise she was cleaning the bathroom ( I saw her cleaning ) took her gloves off went around the counter and said can I help you. I looked at her in shock and said you were just cleaning the bathroom and didn't was your hands and your going to come service food to people. As I walked out the door manager didn't say a word. Hubby and I happen to love DQ for their flame-broiled burgers, cheese curds, onion rings and of course their desserts. Been to this location a few times now this year. Only giving it three stars because recently we were disappointed. The girl talking through the drive through speaker kept laughing and at one point my husband stopped talking until she asked us to continue and he said "I was just waiting until you stopped laughing because clearly you can't hear what I am saying" and she just said "Oh, ok". We pulled up to the window and they tell us that they have to bring our order out as it was still being made up. So we pull to the front of the restaurant and a guy brings out the food - only we realize our two burgers are not in the bag. At the same time another server is standing just behind the guy holding a bag and yelling at him "Hello, Hello?" "You forgot their two burgers" and then he turns around and looks at her and says "Oh the bag did feel light". Well, our two burgers were cold - not even warm - they were cold. We asked for them with no tomato and of course there was tomato on them which meant that they must have grabbed two burgers that were off to the side rather than freshly prepared our burgers the way we wanted. We went through the drive through again for two blizzards. The server asked us if we wanted the regular blizzard or the royal blizzard and she explained that the royal blizzard had more fruit in the center so we opted for the royal blizzard. Well mine was not a royal - matter of fact - mine had almost NO fruit in the center! Hubby had so much fruit in his that he poured some of the fruit and syrup into my blizzard. We were charged $6.98 for each medium royal blizzard - and it wasn't worth the hype. So be prepared when you go here as this location is hit or miss at times. If we get the same type of service or cold food again, we will no longer hit this location. read more

We really only go here for blizzards, because their food is pretty overpriced. And while I've only visited this location three times, the two times I ordered via drive thru, the workers were kind of distracted - you could tell they were all talking and laughing and it was a struggle to give an order to someone holding a separate conversation with laughter in the background. I had to repeat myself several times on both of these visits, and it was annoying to have to worry that my order might be wrong because the workers were too busy joking around. The cashiers were, however, polite when I pulled up to pay (though when the window opened you could clearly hear the loud laughter I heard when ordering, so it was ongoing for several minutes at least.) To be fair, the one time we parked and went inside and that day it was quiet and we were able to order very quickly and easily. The restaurant is very clean, and I did once order a meal with chicken strips and they were surprisingly good for fast food - very juicy and fresh! But overall I find their meals overpriced, so I'll continue to just visit when I want to treat myself to a blizzard. read more
