Im my effort to do a burger series for my area I needed to check out the Dairy Queen. I don't ever think of Dairy Queen when I think of getting a burger... so my expectations only link back to burgers in the late 80's from a Dairy Queen in southern oregon. This DQ is like most I have been to when I am grabbing some cool treats. I hit the drive thru today and haven't ever been inside. The drive thru moved quick and the people were friendly. I ordered a cheese burger deluxe with onion rings and a coke. When I got home, I was bummed that my order was actually a double when I wanted a single. They didn't make a mistake on the order... they either misunderstood or I wan't clear about wanting only a single. The sandwich and rings looked and smelled great. The rings were solid, crispy coating, and housed an actually onion inside. The flavor was pretty light. The burger seemed fresh, I liked the consistency of the beef, the condiments were well distributed, but the tomatoes were mushy. I was very put off by the flavor of the cheese. It tasted unmistakably artificial... I know processed cheese is supposed to taste processed - this was way more than that... sour even. The flavor of the cheese quickly overwhelmed all other flavors it was off putting enough I only ate half the burger. I wouldn't get one of these burgers again. But a peanut buster parfait is the bomb! read more

DQ is an old standby but we've found lately their ice cream melts so quickly and seems too expensive for what's offered and the sizes! Right next door is McDonalds where the sundaes are less expensive and better tasting! read more

Service was horrible, food was hot and they can't even get the freaking order right. I suggest the health inspector check this place out for the bugs in the air. read more

Not bad experience here at this Dairy Queen. This location had a clean bathroom, clean lobby. Masks are required prior to entering this facility. They have the plastic dividers between the cashiers and customers and there are the little social distancing stickers on the floor that we are accustomed to nation wide. The food came out quick and tasted good. Service was great. Come here for some Dairy Queen & Chill. read more

Good place to sit down for a blizzard or ice cream cone on a Friday night. Super friendly and on top of it employees. As soon as I saw people get up from a table an employee walked over to spray it down. Which you don't see places do so much anymore. read more

Tumwater location. They have plenty of employees as a matter fact perhaps too many. They were having a great time with each other. Chocolate dipped cones were satisfactory but the blizzard not so much. Hardly had any Reese's peanut butter chunks in it and when I say hardly I mean very very hardly. Disappointing. read more

The blizzards are still too expensive. But this is a nice place. I've talked to the general manager who asserted their commitment to the community. I have actually written corporate about a good experience I had with one of their workers, who admitted a screw-up and was quite apologetic. Corporate got right back to me and let me know how pleased they were (they should have offered me a free blizzard, though :). The ONLY thing I wish DQ would do, and I do mean ONLY thing, is to be more vigilant in cleaning the lots. There is so much garbage that builds up toward the back of their lot, and a lot of it is DQ garbage. That shouldn't be drifting around the community. read more

We ordered 2 ice creams. Both were supposed to have our selected chocolates mixed inside. We had maybe 2 tablespoons on the very top but nothing mixed in. We ended up throwing out our ice creams after the first few bites. Worst spent $20 read more

We eat here often. The staff is prompt, professional, friendly, and helpful at the drive through and in the restaurant. The staff works as a team, helping each other! The food is always perfect, I can be picky having worked in the food industry myself. We love the $5/6 meals and the specials they offer. They have a very nice ice cream cake freezer, where you pick or order in advance for special occasions. My advice is to "Live a Little", now and then! read more

I walked in today Sunday at about 5pm with my husband and kids. There was no line whatsoever, but none of the employees came to the register or asked if I wanted to order. The female working with the drive-thru looked over at me and again, no service. My family and I ended up walking out. Definitely won't give my service to this location. Their slogan should be hot treats, cold eats! I stopped in here recently and got a five buck lunch... The amount of stuff I got for five dollars was a good value but the food was terrible and borderline cold. I asked to have my sundae made later but if was brought out with my food and melted before I could even get to it. I would not recommend this dairy queen! read more

My experience at this Dairy Queen was not good at all. I ordered a Number 2 meal. The burger looked as though it had sat for hours. It tasted awful. The bacon had a putrid taste and odor. I will never stop there again read more

This is one of the best Dairy Queen I have visited. It is immaculate and the staff is busy cleaning every surface in the dining area while I type this. The food came so fast I was still getting my soda when they brought it. The cashier was very nice and courteous. The staff interaction is very good and friendly. management should keep doing what they are doing cause it's a win. read more

Service here was fast and efficient. I ordered to meals with drinks and sundaes. All were made as ordered and served to go so that I could eat in the RV which I was able to park just outside the parking lot. This is an easy place to access and food was great, service was better. Boy, the food was bad.Usually DQ is ok, but we had a really bad experience. The best thing either of us had was the cola.

This visit was very frustrating. First we pull up to drive thru and I order a medium blueberry freeze add grape. That is there slushy mix with ice cream blended. When we get to the window the girl hands me just the slushy and it just grape. So I have to tell her it a freeze with blueberry and grape again, she looks and me like I just completely inconvenienced her. So she gets it fixed and hands it back to me ( I used to work there so I know it's just a matter of popping off the flat lid, putting on a dome lid, add ice cream, blend and boom done in less then 30 seconds). So we drive off get over the freeway and as we are about to get on the freeway I take sip and it is STILL JUST GRAPE. Well sorry but I just paid 5 bucks so I want it to be right. So we have to turn around which was a pain in the ass, rhis time my boyyhot out of the truck and went inside to make they did it right as then came out and tested before left. This was such a pain as we live in Olympia and we were just passing through and thought we would make a quick stop ice cream. Definitely won't be going back. read more

Signs on building say $5 buck lunch11 to 4. It was7 pm. Ordered what would have been a $6 lunch. Employee asked if i wanted a combo but didnt mention the deal. Later i saw signs inside that the deal was now all day. Why would i want to pay 6.39 and not get the ice cream. Also i asked about a senior discount and was told hesitantly that they dont do that. Our local dq does. It was like i have your order in the machine, dont bother me. Our relatives live around the corner but in the future if i want dq i will stop in olympia to get it. We were hesitant to visit this location due to the poor reviews, but were pleasantly surprised. Restaurant and bathrooms were clean. Young man who helped us at the front counter was very friendly and smiled. We ordered three blizzards and had commented on how he served the blizzards upside down like they were supposed to and he had a good sense of humor about it. Nice young man. Great customer service! I waited fifteen minutes for a chicken sandwich. The sandwich was good. But two minutes into waiting for my order, the fries were put on my tray. So when I got my whole order, fifteen minutes later, the fries were cold. I know it's fast food and they're not paid a lot, but I've done it. Not hard. Common sense read more

Dairy Queen is a decent place to get ice cream. While it isn't the best quality of food, (I mean, it is fast food) it is delicious to have every now and again. I would suggest going to Dairy Queen instead of the McDonald's that is next door any day because, while Dairy Queen may be more pricey, their food is better quality. Sometimes it takes a while to get your food when it gets busy, but that's understandable. read more
