You all know what McDonald's food is all about, so I'm rating the restaurant and not the cuisine. We aren't much of a McDonald's family, but having arrived at Great Wolf Lodge four hours prior to check in, I had to get my hangry kids *something*. Unfortunately, the reviews here have been diluted with the reviews for the McDonald's that was previously in this location, attached to a gas station. It's now a brand spanking new independently standing building, just about half a mile down from Great Wolf. The first thing that stuck out with me was how quickly the staff jumped to help me. A girl was mopping, and saw me struggling like a doofus with the automated menu boards (I'm a noob) and put down her stuff to help me the good old fashioned way. I misread a deal on my app, and the manager kindly fixed it for me. The lady who handed me my food was very friendly and helpful, smiling as she worked. Everyone actually seemed happy to be there, and my order came out accurately and quickly. The other thing I noticed was how exceptionally clean it was. At any given time, I could see someone wiping down tables or cleaning the floor. Tables were literally shining. The bathrooms were also spotless. While I'll likely never review another McDonald's again, I did want to give these guys a shout out for making my first visit in 25 years a pleasant one. Don't let the 1 and 2 stars reviews send you elsewhere if a Big Mac is what you are craving. I'm certain that those reviews were written before the new place came along. read more

Stopped in for a quick large mocha frappe because I was having a bad morning and needed some caffeine and calories. I've been to this location one other time a few months back, and both times the people working here were extremely efficient and very nice too. If anyone that works here reads this, I want to say thank you . It's tough working fast food and customers don't always tell you that you're awesome. Get to the window to pay and she says sorry we are out of breakfast. Excuse me you just took my order and menu was still up.... She was very nice and apologetic. It's a McDonald's. What can I say? We ordered a hash brown to go and I gave the girl at the counter a couple of dollar coins. Apparently she had never seen them before and was thoroughly confused as to what they were. One of the nice ladies had to come and explain to her that this is regular money and she should take it. The total was 1.08 and she gives me back 17 cents. I told her I gave her $2 and then her expression turned to that of someone who had been asked to solve a complex quantum physics problem. This Macy Dees is is the closest to my home in Rochester. I have been there a 30 times plus over the last 3 yrs and have found that this place Is for Emergency use only..LOL If you are starving then you can get something barely eatable and more then half the time the order is wrong, over cooked, stale/dried out and or missing from your order. The service is poor at its best . I wouldn't eat here unless ! I had to, The only way to get a ok meal, is to ask for and "then demand that it be cooked FRESH" by making it a special order. You have to wait but its worth it. Be aware that you will only get your special order right 60-70 percent of the time. I have had them take a burger from the warming area and slap on or scrape off items to fulfill my special order. I usually have to pull around the corner and check the food before I begin munching down. read more

I know, I know, you get what you pay for and, well, this is McDonald's. But within the confines of that universe, a person should still be able to expect consistency. They won't find it here! This is the worst McDonald's I've ever been to. Seriously. The worst. And out of their "billions served," I've had probably 500 McD's experiences (frightening). That should be a testament to how terrible THIS place is. There's usually something wrong with my order. But let me take you through a recent experience... which turned into two... which turned into three... I went through the drive-thru, for me and two others. I was picking it up and taking it to their place. I ordered three McChickens and three McDoubles. I got to my destination, about 10 miles down the road, sat down on the couch with my buddies, opened the big bag and had three McChickens and TWO McDoubles. I called, talked to the manager, who appologized and said they would give me a free McDouble when I came through. What universe is this idiot living in? A free McDouble? I ALREADY PAID FOR IT! So, regardless of what business way they look at it, I see it as this: I'm a dollar down (they owe me a dollar), not to mention the fact that if I want to get that dollar back (or the burger), I've got to go out of my way to get it done. PLUS, I still didn't get my full lunch so I'm still hungry. I DID go back, after picking up my family and heading to Home Depot. I went through the drive-thru, told the person what had occurred, and they, of course, were confused. This is the part I dread. I explained slowly and they asked what I wanted to get. I made my order: Two orders of chicken tenders and two McDoubles. One of these, of course, was going to be for the one they owed me. I got the big bag, we started to leave, my wife decided to check the bag and she saw that everything was there. It was. We started to drive down Old 99, when she told me the receipt was wrong. They gave us everything, but THEY CHARGED ME FOR THE EXTRA BURGER, WHICH WAS WHAT THEY ALREADY OWED ME, BECAUSE I ALREADY PAID FOR IT. Now I was incensed. I called and talked with the manager, who confirmed the screw-up. She said I could go again whenever I wanted and get any value meal on the menu. So, up to this point, I had to wait an extra hour to get the food I ordered in the first place, had to go back in order to make that happen. And I'm STILL a dollar down. On principle, this wasn't OK. So of this great value meal their giving me, already a dollar of it belongs to me. So the best they'll do is through in fries and a drink I guess. Whatever. I went in a few days later and, of course, it took them way to long to look up my name in the book. I got suspicious stares from two employees, and I was holding up the line. I was able to order the chicken club, grilled. I got my order and sat down to eat it. They gave me fried instead of grilled. At this point, I just said "screw it" and ate. A week later, I got a milkshake and ask them to give me a spoon and a straw both. They gave me only a spoon. So I had a lid on the cup and a spoon. Why even put the lid on if you're only going to give me a spoon. I'm just venturing a guess that these folks aren't very bright since they can't logically work their way through most requests or problems. Too bad. And unfortunately, the employees who smoke do it right outside the main door. You have to walk through the cloud to get in. That's not right. As unlikely as this sounds, I don't plan on going back here. I know the owner of this place probably won't care since the same owner has the ones in Centralia, etc., and surely I'll got there. But I won't be a patron of this place. read more

This location is much improved since it moved out of the Shell gas station into its oen building a few years ago. McDonald's food rates about two stars in my world: quick 'n dirty, cheap slam-em-down gut bombs that burden your midsection for hours. But their $1 soft serve cones I like for a quick sugar hit and when I want a healthier breakfast option than a McMuffin their oatmeal with fruit works for me, even if it is obscenely expensive for what it is. I give this location a couple extra stars for the staff being usually friendly (at least to me) & not hassling eaters sitting for long time periods using their wi-fi. Also a star for clean premises. The restroom is consistently clean with hot water in the vanity & I've never found the soap dispenser to be empty. So obviously they are expending some time & effort into maintaining their facility. I was very surprised at the quality of service and food we got from this McDonald's. There are McDonald's locations at almost every exit between Olympia and Napavine; this was the first time I'd stopped at this location. My husband and I were looking for a quick bite on the road from Seattle to Oregon, around 1:00 am on a Thursday, about three weeks ago. When we got off at the exit, the lights at this McDonald's location were fully ablaze. There was no question they were open; it was great not having to guess. Staff were friendly and seemed happy to see us. We were told it would be just a couple of minutes as they were making the burgers fresh (from beginning to end, we were there six minutes according to Google Maps). True enough, the burgers were hot and fresh, the soda had just the right amount of ice and was perfectly fizzy and refreshing. More importantly, the order was correct (yes, I'm one of those nightmarishly picky people). The location was very convenient to get to, and it was easy to get off and back onto the freeway. We'll definitely keep this location in mind when traveling between Seattle and Oregon next time. read more

Yeah this McD's is a classic low budget version of the real chain. It's a combo McD's and Shell gas station in the same building. Uh, with the waterpark down the street, don't you think McD's could afford their own building with play center, etc? I guess it's because Grand Mound is still a ghost town of a small place. Terrible Service! We stopped for a cup of coffee while driving north on I-5. There are two drive-thru lanes. We sat and waited...and waited...and waited in the left hand lane, while other cars in the right hand lane were served. We moved forward and back to see if it tripped a sensor so they would serve us, as they had the car in front of us in this lane. Nothing. We finally just drove to the window. When we told them what happened, nobody seemed really surprised or apologetic.They didn't care. Good service would have been to offer the cup of coffee free (we did not ask for that or even mention it to them). After reading some of the reviews on this McDonald's, we feel lucky that All we got here was a slow service on a cup of coffee! It could have been much worse. read more

I ate at this restaurant a few weeks ago and I became very ill from their food. My son ate there the other day and he was so sick from food poisoning, we had to take him to the emergency room because he was dehydrated from being so sick. Do not eat at this restaurant. There is never a good reason anyone should get sick from eating at any establishment. There are very strict food serving guidelines for food establishments. these guidelines are there for our protection as consumers. Shame on them for getting us sick because of their laziness and lack of care. I am going to call the health department on these people so no one has to ever get sick from their food again. I can only imagine what would happen if my son had a comprised immune system like a lot of elderly people and children for example. You could die from food poisoning. It is serious business! My son ordered 2 onion cheddar burgers got all the way home, opened his burgers and neither one had the burger patties on them. I could see forgetting cheese or ketchup but the burger patty.
