First stop since leaving AZ. We pulled off the freeway to change drivers. We'll look, there's a DQ. We were in the need for something cold. DQ has cones and that was where we went. I ordered a chocolate cone in a cup. They didn't have chocolate ice cream so I got a dip. Perfect thing for a warm ride. They have their own parking lot.

While heading back from on Route 66 from a several week vacation, my wife and I stopped at the Dairy Queen in Holbrook Arizona and ordered some treats. When we entered the restaurant we were greeted by some of the nicest people. They took our order and prepared some of the best treats we ever had at a DQ. My wife had a Banana Split and I had a Peanut Buster Parfait. Both items were great. The place was clean and we were glad we came in. Hopefully someday we will return.

Arrived in pieces they prob bit it

Nice little Dq in holbrook right off the hwy...dining room is a bit run down......All young people behind the counter. I ordered the chicken strip $7 meal deal 4 chicken strips...fries...a sundae and a drink....My order arrived in pieces (pic) I politely asked them what happened what is with this its all in pieces? The young clueless kid said umm yeah so what do you want? I guess I will redo it.....he just went in the back rearranged the pieces came back smiling along with the other 4 workers like they possibly did something or was just laughing at my expense. I am thinking possibly it was our appearance that prompted the unfavorable service....could I recommend this Dq...well maybe if you have the same "appearances" you might get the same unpreffered service or maybe it was just all these kids that dont have the same appearancws as me just messin around and being dumb kids In any case I spoke to thr manager Nicholas Reed and he appologized and seemed sincere and said they had a new cook and they dont have a way to know if the chicken is ready so they break the pieces to make sure...hmmmm ....In any case has to make me wonder bc I ate at other DQs and no such practice as far as I know....sounds like two letters if you ask me ....(B)anana (S)yrup I guess best to call corporate to see .

After seeing an ad for their fall blizzards, I wanted to stop in and try them. We got the Pecan Pie and Pumpkin Pie blizzards. They were pretty disappointing and didn't have much flavor. I did appreciate the single outdoor table to eat at. I'll stick to the frosted animal cookie one next time.

Delicious blizzard (ice cream). Rating is for the ice cream. Not the food. Got the cotton candy and it was like sugar rocks and bits of chocolate inside vanilla ice cream. Got the bacon ranch sandwich and chicken sandwich. Both were 2 stars. Didn't care for it. The bacon ranch came with a ciabatta like bread but a little rough and it was moist with the dressing. The fries were standard and decent.

Quick, Friendly Coffee Stop in the Heart of Winslow's Famous Corner…read moreWe pulled into Winslow on a relaxed Sunday afternoon after a long drive, mainly to hit up the Walmart for some essentials. While we were in the area, we decided to grab coffee at this spot right on the bustling corner tied to the "Standin' on the Corner" park, the one immortalized by the Eagles' "Take It Easy." (Think: Glenn Frey statue, flatbed Ford, giant murals, and Eagles/Route 66 vibes everywhere.) The barista was genuinely welcoming and super accommodating. We asked for sugar-free caramel macchiatos, and they nailed the customization without any hassle. Both drinks were really solid: smooth, well-balanced espresso, and they hit the spot after hours on the road. The location itself is what makes it stand out, it's smack in the middle of a very touristy, lively intersection packed with Glenn Frey and Eagles memorabilia, gift shops selling Route 66 souvenirs, statues, murals, and photo ops galore. If you're already there snapping pics with the "flatbed Ford" or the bronze Glenn Frey tribute, it's super convenient for a caffeine fix. That said, it can feel a bit hectic and very geared toward tourists with lots of people milling around. If you're looking for a quiet, locals only cafe vibe, this might not be your scene. But for a quick, tasty drink while soaking in the classic Winslow nostalgia? It was exactly what we needed. Would definitely stop again if we're cruising Route 66 through northern Arizona. Friendly service + good coffee + prime location = win.

They are huge and delicious and you can get them smothered with cheese or bacon or whatever. They also have breakfast items, crepes, salads, sandwiches, ice cream, and some pretty fancy coffee drinks. Now about those hot dogs: We tried the Take It Easy dog (ketchup, mustard, diced onions) and the Kansas dog (bacon, cheese, and BBQ sauce). The Take It Easy may have standard toppings but the dog and bun are excellent. The Kansas dog was supreme. The dog, bun, and the toppings were fantastic. I don't know why the little town of Winslow has such good hot dogs but it just shows you never know what you may find.

Twisted Sugar's cookies are not just soft and chewy but also bursting with flavors. I heard about Twisted Sugar from a colleague and decided to give it a try. They have so many different cookie flavors to choose from. They offer fancy gourmet cookies, tasty mixed sodas, and delicious ice cream twisters. When I went there, I picked up a box of assorted cookie flavors: Mint Madness, Cookies and Cream, Twisted, Swizzle, Crinkle, and Salted Caramel. They even have a special "cookie of the month." The staff at the counter were really helpful in recommending their best sellers, and they also have gluten-free options. The shop is cutely decorated and has a cool vibe. There's a fun twist when you buy. They have a basketball ring where you get three tries to shoot the ball. Each successful shot earns you a free cookie or drink. There were some high school kids trying their luck, and one boy was really lucky that day. Twisted Sugar started in Utah and has expanded to different states. They also have other six locations here in Arizona. They also offer franchise opportunities. It was a nice treat, and I enjoyed every bite of their delicious cookies. I'll surely be back to try their twisted sodas and ice cream.

Creative Comfort Food and Outstanding Service in Snowflake…read more We stumbled upon Streets on Main during a quick Yelp search one evening--and we're so glad we did. From the moment we walked in, it was clear the staff genuinely enjoyed working there and cared about our experience. The atmosphere was welcoming and upbeat. The menu offers a wide variety of creative dishes. My wife ordered the Fried Pickle Burger, which came with a unique tomatillo ranch sauce--it was both inventive and delicious. I had the Nashville Hot BBQ Chicken Sandwich special, and it lived up to the name: full of flavor with just the right kick. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Since it was Mother's Day weekend, they were offering a complimentary dessert with a meal for all mothers. My wife chose the peach cobbler, and it was not only generously portioned but also absolutely delicious. A sign inside proudly proclaims they've been voted Best of the White Mountains for the past four years. Based on our visit, I have no doubt that streak will continue. The only (minor) disappointment was that they don't yet serve beer or wine, though the staff mentioned they're looking into adding it in the future. The one place I was going to go to was closed, and this one popped up in my feed. So I thought I would go check it out. From the exterior, it looks like a very rustic steakhouse. Gravel parking, driveway, wooden walkway, and the extra of the building looks very rustic. When you open the door, you get a totally dark red neon steakhouse vibe. It's really cool and I love the wagon, wheels and other steakhouse accoutremont adorning the walls like brands, deer, horns, etc. This is where things go a little sideways. I sat there for at least 11 minutes before anyone came up to my table. Now granted it was Father's Day but looking around the restaurant it was not that crowded and there were multiple servers. So I'm really not sure what the problem was. The host up at the front saw me just sitting there at about 11 minutes in and came up and asked if I wanted some water while I waited and I told him I would also like an iced tea. About another 5 or 6 minutes later the iced tea was delivered by this waitress. Who gave me a look like I was the biggest annoyance in the world. The only thing missing was an eye roll and a sigh. I did not have high hopes for this meal. About another 5 minutes later she came back and asked if I had decided. I went with the beef short ribs cuz they sounded good, asked about the sides and went for the french fries and asked for them to be well done. And then she left. I finished my iced tea and was sitting around waiting for someone to come up and offer me a refill but that didn't happen too much later. Now mind you, as I said there were only a few tables in my section and I saw three servers. She finally came back and asked if I would like a dinner roll. I said sure. The waiting game began again. She came by a while later and asked if I'd like another tea which I did. In a few minutes later the tea showed up. The ribs finally got to the table at about 6:34 p.m. so I've been there for over a half hour at this point. The fries were hot, but definitely not well done. The ribs were actually pretty tasty, they were juicy and had a good amount of char on them. Plus it came with a side of vegetables and the vegetables were slightly Al dente which I like. Honestly, I did not see my waitress again until the end of the meal. When I was clearly finished and asked how I was doing. I said I would like the check. I expected to wait another 10 minutes or so for that, but she was on top of getting the check to me. So I paid my bill and left. I am torn on this because the food was was good, the ambiance was off the chart but the service was severely lacking. Now I don't know how many other chores she had to do back there, but taking care of guests seem to be low on the totem pole. There was a guy across from me in a booth and I could tell he was experiencing the same thing. Bottom line? I don't know if I'll ever come through this town again, but if I do I'm probably going to try a different place for barbecue. Barbecue. Sad, cuz this place would be a total five star if they could get the service up to snuff. They have a good concept, the ambiance is awesome but as a former server I can see a lot of growth areas for this place.
