Heath Blizzard Treat and Turtle Pecan Cluster Blizzard Treat ($0.85 each with coupon in the mobile app)
    Tran D.

Ya know? It has been YEARS since I have set foot into a Dairy Queen. I feel that DQ used to be a staple in childhood, now I feel like they are far and few in between. They are kinda forgotten and left behind. I'm really not sure why either because my experience here was GREAT. What got me to come in today was that they had a special on their blizzards. $0.85 for a small blizzard, which was plenty, I'll probably grab a mini next time. The flavor I chose was Heath Bar. Heath bar blended into vanilla soft serve? A thousand times yes. Also, the way DQ blends the toppings and ice cream together? YES. I love the whipped texture. It was actually really busy, and there were only two workers but they managed their speed and service excellently. People were coming in groups and there were mobile orders, yet I received such nice and quick service. From the time I came in, got in line, ordered and had a blizzard in my hand, it couldn't have been more than 5-7 minutes. My number was called before I even found a seat! Also, this is a treat only location. Some DQs sell burgers and such, not this one I will for sure be returning to try many of their other flavors and of course the nostalgic Dilly Bars and Dipped Cones!

Did the BOGO thing and glad I read Yelp reviews to find that the mini was actually the perfect size to order for my son and I. The place was clean, service friendly and blizzard was delicious. Great experience for my first time going to a Dairy Queen.

This was my first time coming to Dairy Queen. It was a great deal if you have the Dairy Queen app it's 85 cents for a small blizzard. The service was fast & employee cashier was really nice and friendly. The blizzards were delicious & have sweet flavor into the ice cream. The store was clean, spacious, and nice. I would definitely come back here if I'm near the Huntington Beach area.

Treated my son to a Choco Dipped Strawberry Blizzard on Sunday, 9/24. Son's pick. We walked into the store and it was clean, not too busy. We received good customer service. When the blizzard was ready, the employee flipped the cup upside down. Just like in the poster haha! We shared the blizzard and it was good!

They have a restroom luckily but I didn't need to use it. There's only a few staff and they were busy. They asked to order from the touchscreen kiosk and many customers complied. I ordered via the app, but like usual, when ordering right then and there, you get your food quicker. We got a few breakfast combos, we were missing some sauces and so I did have to ask for them and had to wait since the staff was not near the front. They do not have a refillable drink fountain machine so we had to ask for refills. The food was good! Warm and packed neatly. Their drive thru was quite busy but plenty of customers came within the 20 minutes we were there.

Literally took 15 minutes to get my order - nobody else in the store, no one in line. 15 minutes for items already pre-made. And. On top of that, I didn't see any employees the entire time until I said 'hello' over the counter (you have to order everything on a tablet - with no employee assistance). Got my order, went back to my 'spot' in my trailer parked in the beach parking lot. Lunch time, against my better judgement, went back with my wife. Had to use the tablet again, but wanted to make some changes to my order. No assistance from the staff and was told 'everything was available through the system'. Well, it wasn't, so I completed my order (with about 10 minutes of fumbling) and paid. I then called an employee over to explain what I wanted. Was greeted, but then told I should have done it through the menu system. I told them I couldn't modify a 'combo' and, when I mentioned I couldn't, was told 'it's all available on the system' - so now you have to help me because it wasn't. I also ordered drinks, but my options were small, medium and large - no option for the type of drink. In the end, it was about 10 minutes of ordering followed by 3-4 minutes of verifying what I wanted - followed by a final question (from the employee) as to what drink I wanted. All that - why not just have an employee take my order as I want it - 2-3 minutes tops. And then (yes, a bit more), I got a little bit of attitude when I asked for ranch and hot sauce. I've been to some establishments that are going more to DIY order systems, but this is one of the worst. Two stars is being nice - they did get the order right so I had to give them that. But, won't be back to this one again. Just an awful experience.

Parking is shared with nearby businesses, but there were plenty of spots. The dining area has lots of tables, though it's a little tight on space. The staff were friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout. The food was delicious across the board. I ordered the Molcajete, which came loaded with refried beans, chorizo, avocado, potatoes, a sunny side up egg, carne asada, grilled slice of cheese, and pickled purple onions. The portions were huge -- I couldn't finish mine. The meat was tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. I added shrimp for a little extra and it was absolutely worth it. Others at the table ordered the chilaquiles, which come in red, green, or a combo, and can be customized with chorizo, short rib, or other proteins. The feedback was positive, though the portion size looked a bit small compared to other dishes. The very berry French toast was a hit with my daughter. She loved the sauce -- flavorful but not too sweet -- and the bread was perfectly toasted on the outside with a soft center. The burritos were generously sized. The surf and turf stood out, with perfectly cooked shrimp and meat. The sauce had a bit more kick than expected, but it was delicious overall. The carne asada fries were also a great size, with fresh, quality ingredients and great flavor. A few things to note: there are no fountain drinks, and the agua frescas don't come with refills. The menu has a great selection of Mexican-inspired café drinks -- café de olla, Mexican hot chocolate, lattes, and more.

ALERT: BUG IN MY DEL TACO FOOD…read more I went to this. Del Taco on Warner Ave. yesterday (which I've frequented for years) and found (what I think is) a cricket in my Epic burrito! But the almost more mind blowing experience I had was how that Del Taco dealt with the situation. I find the bug (had bought the food via drive thru), go back in to alert them of what happened, and this is what ensued: Me: "look at what I found in my burrito." Female manager (whose name I won't say, but she's the usual manager on staff there): "what is that?!" Me: "I don't know. That's what I was hoping maybe you could tell me. What happened here that this got into the food?" Manager: says nothing in reply, but wraps up the burrito and chucks it into the small wastebasket behind her and curtly ask me, "do you want me to remake it or do you want a refund?!" Me: "uhh, a refund; I don't want another burrito made for me from the same supply that that one just came from." Manager: says nothing more; takes my receipt which I had brought back in with me, and does her thing on the register. She proceeds NOT to give me a full refund, but refunds only the one burrito, telling me, "your refund amount is $7.75. Do you want it in cash or on a card?" The original tender used was cash so I tell her cash. She puts the money on the counter, still says nothing more, and coldly does an about face and goes back to the assembly line for a short moment and then disappears into the back area. I stand there in disbelief (have three children with me who are asking if they'll give us a free drink or some donut holes --they're kids), and am just kind of processing the whole situation. The gravity and mis-handling of the whole thing hits me, and I catch a second wind. Me (to the only visible employee at this point, the guy handling the drive thru line): "you know what, can you get the manager back out here?" Me (once manager returns): "I gotta tell you, I'm pretty shocked at how you just handled this whole thing! I come to you with a disgusting bug in my food.; a bug!! This isn't a 'you put onions in my burrito when I said no onions,' and this is way more egregious than even a hair. This is a dead insect in my burrito! And you act as if I'm inconveniencing you! You don't even have the decency to apologize or issue me a full refund, only a partial refund!" Manager: "I did say sorry. You must've not heard me." (Her piss poor attitude is starting to make a 180 degree turn around as she sees that I'm now pissed and calling her on her audacity.) Me: "No, you never once uttered the word sorry or any sort of apology (I was on weighted breath listening for one), expressed zero shock, as though I'm the seventh person today with this complaint, and you made no effort to ask what you could do to make up for this, made no effort to offer an explanation, whether you could perhaps offer something else from off the menu for the mishap, that you would investigate this and whether I wanted a call back from upper management--something along some professional and courteous lines--NOTHING! Maybe if this bug had been in YOUR mouth you'd be more upset or sympathetic!" To sum this up, after I pitched that mini-fit, she tells me how she WAS looking into it, that that's why she went back to the food trays to look at them (big whoop, she didn't do that as I stood there) and she then shows me some blue gloves that she had curled up in the palm of her hand--whatever that was supposed to mean to me. In her 180 degree attitude adjustment that I forced on her, she also started to offer me "something else from the menu." [Note: I reluctantly went ahead and asked for a strawberry shake and order of French fries because my girls were pushing for this. Had it been me, after that shameful altercation, I would've just left because it's the principle of the matter and I'd do the adult thing and leave with my dignity intact and not take their resentful handout, but I went ahead and appeased my children's cravings.] BE AWARE of what you're eating here at this Del Taco, folks. I know this location of theirs has been there forever and is practically an HB historical site, but that's irrelevant, as it's whoever is on staff and under what management the place is, that determines what you're going to get there, how much they're going to care and take their jobs seriously, and how you're going to get treated there any given day. For shame.
