    Brownie Oreo Cupfection

Even though the Wilkinson DQ is right next to a busy road, it's still such a cute location with its vintage signage and picnic tables that give you a great view of the sunset. The cupfection was tasty but a little too sweet for my taste - next time back to the classic Oreo blizzard!

    This is the vanilla blizzards.

Recommended to come here by only in your state as the oldest DQ in NC.. What we got was the least amount of toppings possible in a blizzard.. was basically a vanilla with toppings on on top This was a Sunday at 415 pm.. Was going to be a treat .. more disappointing than anything else

Stopped in on a cold night in January. I know, what am we doing there? It's not summer, it's the dead of winter. But somedays an ice cream from Dairy Queen is the only thing that will make you feel better. And this location didn't disappoint. We ordered the Triple Chocolate Brownie which is a brownie sundae with hot sauce and whipped cream and the Candy Cane Blizzard that was still seasonally available from the Holidays. All we can say is YUM. Also, the staff were knowledgeable of the every menu item and they got our order ready fast. Their slogan is- 'ruining New Year's Resolutions since 1962'. We don't mind if you do!

That triple chocolate brownie! My mouth waters just thinking about it. The cake portion is warm, and it goes wonderfully with the cold vanilla ice cream. After the closing of the DQ location on Central, I come here every so often to indulge in a treat. My friends order wraps and other items and they like it, but I just get a snack and a hot dog (terrible, I know). Staff is minimal, so sometimes it's a little wait. Very friendly though, and that's appreciated these days. The area isn't the best, but it stands along with its own parking lot, so no need to worry.

Chili cheese and slaw hot dogs. You can order them any way you like. This is the combo meal.

This Dairy Queen is great for those who want an old school drive-up and walk-up experience. Prices are very reasonable. Tips are appreciated. We came here for father's day. We ordered 3 chili cheese and slaw hot dog combo meals. The combo came with chips, drink and an ice cream sundae. This location has outdoor benches and a couple of tables with umbrellas to sit at if you choose to eat your food on location. Most people ordered food to go. We stayed to enjoy the walk up ambiance and do some people watching. Our order took less than 5 minutes to arrive. They take cash, debit and credit cards. The staff was friendly. As of my writing, they have earned a 100% health inspection rating that was displayed. It is located next to the fire station on Wilkinson Blvd. I am confident the fire fighters must come here often for a soft serve treat.

I love Dairy Queen!!!! I would give five stars if it wasn't for the fact the the server burped in my husband's face and did not apologize. The lava cake with ice cream was awesome!!!!

This location has been here since the 60's-70's and is as much a part of the landscape of the west side since before I-77 and I-85 were even interstates. Wilkinson Blvd use to be the main road into and out of Charlotte, and this is when you knew you were getting close to downtown Charlotte. The building is as much a piece of history, and has not changed much over the years. This is the way it has always been at this location.....you wait in a line, place your order, and enjoy the nice tast of DQ heaven under the sun under a few covered patio tables. The service is fast, friendly, and the prices while somewhat higher than the early days, still brings smiles to hundreds of people every day longing for the simple days of ice cream, moms, and dribbles of chocolate on the shirt. This is just down the street from another iconic landmark BBQ King. Stop by and reminisce the days of a child in the original DQ heaven. NCFoodGuy

This looks like its been here since opening day :)

My friend took me to this Dairy Queen before we headed to the airport lookout. I was pretty excited about it because it's not your typical DQ. It reminded me of the ice cream places from when I was a child and I sat under the umbrella happily eating my hot dog and ice cream. They had a special for a pop, hot dog and ice cream for around $3. There's not much around here and once you get farther down the road it gets a little sketchy. Ah, here's to our old soft serve locations. :) They aren't around as much as they used to be, that's for sure. I'd much rather have something like this place than a Coldstone any day. (And that's not a knock on Coldstone... I love them too.) But you can't beat sitting under an umbrella on a hot summer day with an ice cream in hand.

Review for Shake Shack…read more This review is for Shake Shack in the South End, and the first thing to know is that parking can be very difficult. It's a busy, walkable section of the neighborhood surrounded by apartment complexes, shops, and plenty of foot traffic. You've got places like Jeni's Ice Cream, coffee spots, and other eateries nearby, so it's definitely a lively area--but not the easiest if you're driving in. I received a special solicitation and promo to use the app for 20% off, which was a nice perk. I do like Shake Shack. It's trendy for the smash burger, and when it's done right, it really is a solid bite with a near-perfect ratio of meat to bun. For this visit, I ordered a double ShackBurger with mayonnaise, lettuce, pickle, and onion, with the sauce requested on the side. Unfortunately, the sauce didn't come on the side as requested. I also ordered a strawberry shake, which was about $5. Here's the honest take: * The burger itself was good, filling, and satisfying * However, the meat was not as crispy as I remembered * The shake was just okay--it lacked strong strawberry flavor and richness * The quality felt a bit diminished after taking the food home That last point matters. Smash burgers really depend on timing. I took the food home, which was about a 10-minute trip, and by then the texture had changed. The nuances that make a smash burger special--crisp edges, heat, balance--just weren't the same anymore. Next time, I'll definitely eat it there on-site. That's where the experience really shines. A few practical notes: * A double burger runs roughly $9-$10, so it's not cheap, but it is filling * Check the app for promos--they can make a noticeable difference * If something tastes off (like the shake), it's best to address it while you're still there Personally, I prefer a burger that isn't too wet, so pickle, lettuce, and onion work well for me. I'm particular about tomatoes--I only like Roma tomatoes, not beefsteak--so I usually skip them altogether. Bottom line: Shake Shack is still a reliable burger, but timing and location matter. Eat it fresh, eat it there, and you'll get the experience they're known for. Get out there. Explore. Eat well.

It is so nice having Shake Shack in Charlotte now. The food was for was delicious and tasted exactly how I know it should. Shake Shack had my fav cheese fries and that is coming from a self proclaimed cheese fry connoisseur. This location is very large and you can easily bring your bigger group in. You order at the kiosk so not much interaction with the staff but the young lady who brought our meal was super sweet.

My go-to has always been the Crunchy Taco Supreme, and this visit was no exception. They were hot, fresh, and exactly what I expected--simple, satisfying comfort food. I also decided to try the mini taco salad, and it was the perfect bite. The crispy shell held warm beans, seasoned meat, cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes, and with a little Fire sauce, it checked all the boxes. It didn't overfill me--just enough to take the edge off hunger. I typically skip the beverages here since I try to avoid high-fructose syrups, but the food itself hit the mark. Everything was hot where it should be and cool where it should be, which is always a good sign of proper preparation. My only small wish: a touch of sour cream or fresh avocado would take the mini taco salad to the next level--but for fast, nostalgic comfort food, it absolutely delivered. The drive-through was clean, the order-taker was friendly and professional, and my food came out quickly and accurately. Reliable, fast, and consistent--sometimes that's exactly what you need. If you're craving something familiar, the mini taco salad is worth trying. Get out there and eat well--life's too short not to enjoy the food you love.

Optimist Hall itself is a very food-centric, upscale food hall with a ton of vendors, so the atmosphere is energetic and fun. Seating can be a little challenging during peak dinner hours since so many people are grabbing food from different spots, but when the weather is nice there's plenty of outdoor seating. Harriet's keeps their burger formula refreshingly simple. It's a classic smash burger done right--made to order with a straightforward menu that doesn't overcomplicate things. There's usually a line, but it moves pretty quickly, and the burgers come out hot and fresh. One of the best parts of eating here is the flexibility of the food hall experience. While you're waiting, you can grab a craft beer, a glass of wine, or even browse for dessert from one of the other vendors. Insider tip: Come with a group if you can. It's a great place to share fries and let everyone explore different vendors around the hall. Parking is fairly easy with the nearby garage, which makes the whole experience even more convenient. Overall, Harriet's is a fun, delicious stop for a smash burger, especially if you're already enjoying the energy of Optimist Hall.
