Only reason it wasn't 5 stars was because on my way out the door I saw a sign that said buy3 cupcakes get 1 free. I ordered 3 and the cashier never told me about this promotion. I honestly wish I could give 0 stars. This Dairy Queen used to be so amazing! Lively, friendly, and prompt customer service. Unfortunately now it is a run down and unacceptable establishment. I absolutely love Dairy Queen and this one needs a visit from corporate! Our blizzards were served runny, not at all close to the "upside-down thick" promise, and therefore were not flipped upside down as DQ is known for. This DQ is extremely dirty and disorderly. Our dipped cones did not even come close to replicating the famous "Q curl" atop. I asked for them to honor the promotion of receiving a coupon for a free blizzard since they did not flip the blizzard upside down and I was ignored. I waited to inquiry about this further and was given a Elementary School Reading Reward Coupon that was expired. Needless to say, this DQ needs new management and needs it FAST if they wish to stay open! Do not waste your time or money here, go to Western Shawnee DQ instead! read more

We have been coming to this Dairy Queen for many years. Recently, I have been working on a Dairy Queen account at my job, and we order mini blizzards for everybody in the office on Miracle Treat day every year. There are about 50 people at this office, so it's a big task! They always do a lovely job and have it ready when I get there. The staff are friendly and service is usually pretty quick. They take all of our coupons and usually have the freezers stocked. It isn't super clean looking in there and it's a bit outdated, but it's ice cream! What's not to love! read more

I had the most amazing experience with an employee named Eli that works at this location. He was so friendly and helpful. Sometimes, especially lately, when I'm a paying customer and have a few questions on what I'm getting I feel the employees just don't really want to deal w me. (Not at DQ but other various businesses.) That's sad bc it turns me off and away from their business. Weird way to treat customers especially during a time when business has had a hard time w COVID. I'm so happy to report that Dairy Queen stands out in my mind as an example other businesses should be taking notes from and employees! Pretty standard Dairy Queen - it's not huge, but it meets my occasional need for a Blizzard just fine. And it's relatively close by! I do think their mix-ins for the Blizzards seem to be somewhat limited (there were only 5 or so candies listed, along with the other options, and I seem to recall other places have some different/additional candies that you can choose), but they had M&Ms and Snickers, which is what I wanted, and mint Oreos, which is what my husband wanted, so we were happy. I'm definitely a fan of the mini Blizzard size, as it's pretty much perfect for me. I can get my Blizzard fix in one go instead of freezing half, which is what I usually do if I order a small. I also was able to get my Blizzard made with chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla without being made to feel odd for ordering it that way. There was a fairly sizeable line when we arrived on a hot Saturday afternoon, but even with only 2 staff members they were able to get everyone served quickly and accurately. They took 20 mins to get our order out to us after we ordered. There were only 3 customers before us. They told new customers that they were overwhelmed and backed up and had to suspend taking new orders for 15 to 20 mins. This was terrible service and the blizzards has barely any toppings in it. read more

I believe that this location must have changed ownership hands in the last year. There used to be great ice cream and good service. Not anymore. I went a couple months ago and ordered a swirl cone with chocolate dip. The ice cream wasn't swirl but vanilla on the bottom and chocolate on the top. And the chocolate dip wasn't very thick. I always want to give benefit of doubt that there was just a bad night. Went a few days ago... also for a chocolate dipped swirl cone. There were 3-4 young girls working. None seemed to really know what they were doing. The back area where they make the items looked in disarray. After watching one of the girls attempt to get ice cream for my cone a few times, I see the same attempt to try and give me chocolate on top of vanilla (without telling me or asking if it was okay). I questioned and she just said the machine wasn't working right. I asked for my money back and she just stared at me for a bit then finally got another young girl to help refund my money. No apology. No please come back.. More of a well, whatever, type (deer in headlights) attitude. Like another reviewer, will probably make a further drive for a way better DQ. Sad read more

We love coming to this specific location because of its consistent great service. The newer male manager is super awesome and organized with his team. I am leaving only two stars because of our most recent visit. The store was somewhat busy and everyone was working pretty hard to help every customer. Out of nowhere we witness a middle aged man yelling and screaming at one of the teenage employees. He was belittling and we felt so bad for her. We figured out that he must be the president or owner of the franchise. It was downright embarrassing that this man with a thick middle eastern accent was willing to compromise the customer's experience because apparently he didn't like something she did or said. She went to the back because he made this poor teenage girl emotional. Gary the manager had come up from mixing ice cream when he realized she was being yelled at in front of a line of people. He was polite but stuck up for his employee. The big boss, we figure, then yelled at him and he remained courteous and professional. This owner or upper manager needs to learn some social skills and perhaps take some business classes or something. The whole situation was an embarrassment on his part and we had to refrain from telling him he should be ashamed of himself! I seriously hope this man doesn't treat all the employees this way every time. Everyone in line started conversing how wrong it was to talk in such a demeaning manner to anyone whether they work for him or not. Especially a teenage girl. Downright disgraceful. We talked to Gary and he apologized for the experience but it certainly wasn't his fault. If not for this situation I would highly recommend this location. read more

There's absolutely nothing fancy about this place but it is always consistent and everyone is always friendly when you walk in you feel like you are in a small town. We go once a month for the blizzard of the month and we are always happy and the amount of mix ins is always perfect not too much not too little. My husband really, really wanted a butterscotch dipped cone, just like the ones he remembered from his local dairy freeze as a kid. After calling around, I learned that this DQ location carried the elusive request. The store is small and in a strip mall. No drive thru (not a problem, just an FYI). There was a long line from the register (like us, other people hoping to have a cool, refreshing treat to stave off the hot summer afternoon). The line moved rather quickly and we were served in a timely manner. The ladies running the counter were busy but friendly. I was, however, shocked when I read the menu. Before we got there I decided that I would get a DQ hamburger (I hadn't had one since college); imagine my surprise to learn that this DQ doesn't have a grill or fryer (read: no burgers, no fries)! Only hot dogs and chips on the lunch menu. What? My husband didn't enjoy his dipped cone, we both though it WAY TOO SWEET. And by way too sweet, I mean, WOW way too sweet. Will we go back? best dairy queen in my area, it's cute and small and was great ice cream. very nice 10/10 good dairy queen would go again, and have. love me some dairy queen. though i do wish it was open 24/7 because you know your girl is a night owl and wants that late night queen. i love your establishment it makes me very happy. whenever i am sad which is often i walk myself over to this here dairy queen and treat myself to a cone, or a blizzard if im feeling real funky. i love how you can tip the blizzard upside down and it stays. it also tastes very good. my favorite blizzard is the cookie dough one. but my all time favorite thing on the menu is the dipped cone. i like to sit outside of the dairy queen and eat my ice cream while listening to elvis it makes me quite happy. thank you for this queen of a dairy i will cherish this queen forever, love you all and good night. :) read more

It's funny, how every time we go to this Dairy Queen, the same song comes on the speakers ("Lies, Lies, Lies Yeah", by the Thompson Twins) - Ha! Besides the throwback 1980's memories, the ice cream is great. The first time we went, we all ordered Baby size Blizzards, and got the amount of Half a Baby size of ice cream in the cup. So that was a bummer. Sometimes we just can't eat that much ice cream, but still want some all the same. So it felt like we were being punished for ordering too small. And if you ever thought of getting a box to go of their Dilly Bars or Peanut Buster Bars, think again. You get 6 in a box for $7.99. Do you even have to pay that much for Dove Bars or Haagen-Dazs Bars? Well, I wouldn't do it, I'd have guilt afterward. But the Smores Blizzard is to die for, with those mini chocolate bars in it, and my daughter loves the Strawberry Banana Smoothies. If you get bigger than a Baby size, then you get the right amount of soft serve in the cup. read more
