The turkey sandwich was fantastic, plentiful, and smothered in gravy. I also requested extra cranberry sauce (always), which was perfect. The pot roast dinner started with the most excellent dinner rolls, fresh and warm, then moved to a giant portion of pot roast with gravy, real mashed potatoes, and a side of peas (also perfect). Our server was helpful and friendly. We started with the standard chips and salsa. I liked it fine, but the salsa was too spicy for my wife. The server offered some enchilada brown sauce for her instead. It was a nice thought, but my wife disliked the taste and, I must agree, when I sampled it I felt it tasted unsuitable, at least for that purpose. It was Margarita Monday and I would have liked to indulge, but I was driving so I demurred. We both ordered taco salads for our meal. Taco salad is also a Monday special, priced a dollar less than the regular dinner version. Just out of curiosity, after my wife ordered the lunch special with guacamole, I ordered the regular dinner version. Our salads looked about the same, except hers had more ground beef for whatever reason. So my experiment was inconclusive. The taco salad was pretty good, and we brought some home with us for later, so it was a good value these days at around $10 each. Ordinarily I would finish by saying we'll be going back again, but the spicy salsa is probably a deal breaker for my wife, unless we bring our own mild salsa!
