I really wanted to try the bingsoo here. The machine was broken though. My son tried the ramen and it seemed good. It was a little tricky to use the machine but once you got the hang of it, it was easy. They have a variety of drinks you can pour into ready made cups of ice. The thing is, this place was dirty. The table was rickety and the garbage was overflowing with three workers here. It wasn't clear where to put your dirty tray. Fantastic concept! You can have a hot meal, a snack, ice cream/dessert all in one! It's only their soft opening and they have a few kinks to straighten out. I went alone on a Friday afternoon, and people were in and out of the store. I was a bit hungry, so I was ready to try everything from ramen to dessert. First off, I don't like spicy food. I spent a few minutes going through their ramen display to make sure I wouldn't end up with a spicy broth, but I unfortunately did. I wish they would label their ramen display according to spice level so customers, who aren't familiar with Korean ramen, can be guided properly. The mango bingsoo took almost 30 minutes to come, but it was worth the wait. Some of the mango pieces however were hard and not ripe enough. The cashier should never leave her post as line forms fast, or they should provide a bell for customers to use to call the cashier. Wanted to love it so bad!! Unfortunately, I doubt I'll be going back anytime soon. Visited on Saturday May 24th at around 12:45pm didn't head out until about 2pm. Here's my experience: Our first issue with the bathroom was that it was locked. When we tried getting someone to help one of the girls walked right past us the other just looked at me and went into the back, I assumed to get a key, but never came back out. Finally one of the guys that was stocking up went to check and came back saying they didn't have a key and needed to call the owner. Finally once they opened it (without a word) it was very dirty along with it not being stocked. The ramen station was chaotic to say the least! A couple of the machines did not heat up. When we asked where we could pour out the extra water from our bowls we were directed to a bucket next to the station! Lastly the dessert .... Our plan was to order one of each. The cashier informed us that the Bingsoo had a 25 minute wait but the other options would be fast. Seeing as we already spent a lot of time with the bathroom situation and the ramen machines not working we wanted to get out quickly so we opted for a Croffle and a Fish Waffle in a cup. About 40 MINUTES later no desserts in hand but we did see a lot of Bingsoos being served to other people. When we complained along with another party about the same situation I was offered a free cup of Ube ice cream that was mostly melted :) Also kids had to eat on the curb because there was no seating. Saw a few parties leave after hearing several people complain, which was unfortunate. I love the idea but they definitely need some more time for training and to sort out all their kinks. read more

I took my teen to Dal Dal Korean Dessert in Pleasant Hill for lunch and this spot was such a fun and unique experience! She's a huge ramen lover, so this was basically foodie heaven for her. Here's what we tried: Rose Buldak Ramen (my daughter's choice) - She topped hers with a slice of cheese, shredded mozzarella, and two hard boiled eggs. Simple but so satisfying. MEP Black Pepper Garlic Spicy Bold Ramen (my choice) - I went all in with toppings: rice cakes, dumplings, green onions, red onions, kimchi, a slice of cheese, a raw egg that cooked perfectly in the hot broth, and a hard boiled egg. Flavorful, bold, and so good. Desserts: Oreo Coffle - Light, fluffy, not overly sweet, with just the right amount of creaminess and Oreo crunch. Matcha Fish Cone filled with Nutella - The cone was freshly made, still warm, which melted the ice cream just a little. Messy but absolutely delicious. Strawberry Cheesecake Bingsoo - Huge! Honestly, this could feed a family of five. Creamy, refreshing, and packed with flavor. The food was delicious. I got the oreo croffle, vanilla marcha swirl with red bean on the side and the pink buldak spicy ramen with some toppings. The service was amazing, the bingsu machine was already cleaned but I was able to get other desserts and it wasn't a big deal! I was so excited to try this place. Such a cute concept. Beware it is a small place with limited seating so baby strollers will be a challenge. When I was there there were baby strollers and chaotic. I did not try the ramen but the assortment was huge and I was impressed. You grab a tray, grab the items u want, pay, then make your ramen with the bowl they give you. I decided to try to fish ice cream. I ordered a chocolate and an ube in the fish cone. For a cup with fish cone on top costs $2 more. This seems a bit much for a cup. I also ordered a mango bingsoo. I was told about 10 mins but it actually took much longer. The bingsoo was ready first and it was tasty. Very simple. Mango chunks, the bingsoo looked like shaved coconut and condensed milk. It was delicious and the mango so sweet. The fish cones took forever. They make them when ordered. Nice that it is fresh but bad when they take it off the grill and fill it up with soft serve. It was hot with ice cream in it. Luckily the soft serve held up but the fish cone was a soggy mess with melted ice cream leaking out of it. So, if you get a cone you must pay $2 extra for the cup or else you end up throwing it away like we did. It was a soggy mess. I think they should really pre make some cones because serving it piping hot with ice cream is a bad idea. For this reason we will never get it again. Ok spot. Could be better. Injeolmi bingsoo was okay. Rice cake a bit stale. Powder could be more flavorful. Also got the fish pastry with red bean inside. It was okay. Honestly disappointed with the red bean topping. That really makes or breaks these desserts. Daldal uses the sweet red beans straight out of the can. Other establishments refine the red beans a bit more either making a paste out of them or whatever else. Been here a handful of times, the first time during their opening week. It was very busy, and no area to sit. At some point staff was no where to be found for 5-10mins. The bar where you can choose toppings was almost empty. The next few times I went, it was during opening hours and my experience was way more pleasant. It was clean, toppings were available, and staff were friendly. Toppings are a bit expensive for the amount given. While the outdoor sitting area is nice, I suggest sitting inside as it's a more peaceful and comfortable environment. My daughter woke up with a bit of a cold and I had seen this place on tiktoc and decided to bring her here and have some soup for her and ramen for me and my sister . First of I wanted to thank all the staff that was there and we interacted with . They helped us all with our ramen walked us thru everything we needed how to work the stations and even explained the dessert . There wasn't many people so the vibe was nice everyone was so friendly and super patient . I read some of the bad reviews but I'd say try it out and have your own experience. It's pretty new and really understandable why it would be super super busy the first couple months . Patience is key and people don't seem to have that in this heat . In response to @Lindsey: this was an isolated incident. I was there last night too, and I had a completely different experience. I do agree that they're understaffed, but this is a self-serve establishment, and unfortunately, many customers don't clean up after themselves -- which makes it even harder on the employees. While I was there, I noticed the workers were clearly overwhelmed, trying to keep up with a rush of customers. It's no wonder they didn't have time to constantly clean. I've been here many times before, and the service has always been amazing. It's one of our favorite after-work and after-school spots. I really don't think the issue is with the workers -- it's an issue the owners or management need to address. I will continue to go to one of our favorite spots. read more

The overall setup felt cheap--tables and chairs were chipped and cracked, and the old froyo sign was still up on the wall even though the place is now called Daldal. There was a gross bucket of ramen water just sitting next to the ramen station, and seating was really limited. The ramen costs $5, which feels steep for what you get--but I guess you're mainly paying for the novelty. It's also very obvious that this used to be a froyo shop since they haven't changed the layout much. The bathroom was dirty and not well-maintained, which added to the bad impression. OK, I have given this place probably four or five chances to redeem themselves before I decided to write this review. I would say the last time is probably the last straw which really makes me sad because I always feel like supporting local businesses is the way to make any city thrive, but I am also not keen on throwing my money away. Everything here is OLD. OLD OLD OLD. The ramen toppings are all old, the corn, the kimchi, the little fish slices the eggs. All have a grayish corpse color to them, and when I bit into the kimchi, it was definitely not safe to eat. Their desserts are even worse. I came in the other day and I bought that fish ice cream cup -one was vanilla and one was chocolate -because they were out of matcha and ube. (They're always out of it. ) The ice cream also had a grayish color to it, and it tasted spoiled, and it tasted unsafe to eat. The fish pancake waffle thing was not thoroughly cooked. Both almost $20 bucks by the way and just went straight into the trash. I wasn't going to give my kids something unsafe to eat. I think the only thing is the things in the freezer that they offer in the back, the chips are OK and if you eat just instant Ramen with the hot water is also OK but I do not recommend any of the toppings because it will get you sick. Which I really wanted to reiterate that saving a few dollars or feeling like we shouldn't waste food in the food industry By continuing to offering it to the customers is far more much of a chance of the Business failing then to just simply either throw it away or just donate what you can to those in need somewhere. (Idk about rules or regulations) However, offering this to the customers will not gain you any success. It takes one person to get food poisoning and if they tell everyone you're just not gonna have the business. Aside from that, some of the workers are really, really, really, really really kind and sweet and nice and some. I probably feel like should find somewhere else to work. DalDal is a cozy Korean snack and dessert spot where you can make DIY ramen. My boyfriend and I bought ramen and some drinks. Purchasing the ramen and drinks was quick, as they were already prepared. The ramen cooker was a little different from a similar shop we went to as this shop requires more stirring or the noodles will burn. I don't cook ramen often, so if you're like me, make sure to read both the directions on the bag and on the wall, above the ramen cooker. The shop had limited seating indoors and outdoors, but we were able to find a spot inside within a couple minutes. Overall, we had a good experience, but the experience of others deterred us from purchasing more items. We noticed others who purchased items that need to be made in the kitchen were not having a good experience. We were considering purchasing desserts, but then a crowd of patrons, from different parties, approached the register. They complained as they waited over an hour for the items they ordered. We also overheard that orders were done out of chronological order and multiple parties wanted refunds. I felt bad for the staff because the shop recently opened and just became viral on social media. They seemed very stressed, but I think that moving forward this business would benefit from knowing their limitations and only taking on work they can complete within an appropriate timeframe. read more

this place is alright -- i think the idea is really fun, but the execution needs some work. my friend and i only came here for dinner, maybe one day we'll return for their dessert! first impressions of the building: it is very small. there's not much seating especially when it gets busy. more importantly, the area where you prepare your food gets so cramped. making the noodles itself was a lot more overwhelming than it had to be. they have only 3 stations to prepare noodles at (one of them being broken). additionally, the table that these machines are on is sooo tiny! there were like 5 of us preparing our noodles on this tiny area because there's no other place to. we were all standing shoulder to shoulder, lol. draining our noodles was really weird as well--they have this metal trash can that you just poured liquid into. i'm not sure what else could be used, but it just looks and makes the experience pretty awkward. it has to be some sort of safety hazard too, as it could easily be moved by anybody. the actual setup of the place is done really poorly. the section to purchase extra ingredients for your noodles (tteokbokki, fish cakes, etc.) was positioned away from the cooking stations. you would only come across it after cooking everything. it'd be a lot more convenient having the two sections next to each other, in my opinion. i bought a packet of ramen, a drink, a little bit of fish cakes, and a small serving of kimchi for $20 ! pretty crazy, but i get that what i'm really buying is the "korean convenience store" experience. anyways, i think it's best to come to this place when it's not so busy. the employees and owner is super sweet though! read more

I arrived sometime 7pm, they close at midnight so hours are nice especially if I want to come late and grab something sweet. There was a group of women with nothing and a couple also sitting down upon entering. I'm assuming they were waiting on their order. Another couple was ahead of me and so I explored, as it was my first time here. I was happy to see they had a ramen bar. I wasn't aware they had ramen, since I was here for a bingsoo (Korean shave ice) but the couple ahead was asking questions and wanted the same as I did and they ran out. The gentleman said they had a lot of bingsoo order the day before so they have limited flavors at the moment, which was disappointing as their spot is reserved as a Korean sweet desert. I understand running out of ingredients, however if your joint is based off this product along with waffles...for sale I was assuming you'd be better prepared and stocked.
