    Puerko de verde

Finally got to try this place. I've passed by so many times and I ordered the birria chivo and the costillas de puerko verde. The pork verde has a nice kick to definitely not skimpy on the rib meat and the birria chivo was good as well with a nice kick of spice and lots of meat. One of the workers Abby said I would like the food and definitely shout outs to her. and let's not forget they have homemade tortillas. I would call in ahead of time, especially if you're trying to order birria de Chivo since they don't have that every weekend, but I definitely took advantage of it yesterday. Thank you, Abby.

So much to say about this awesome restaurant. First thing I should point out is to get there as soon as you can and to find parking, it's in a street that can be busy with some limited parking, and the left side to the front of the restaurant facing the street is the parking for the dispensary and the security guard tells you to park somewhere else other than their establishment or your car may get towed. Once you get parking situated you're about to enter one awesome family friendly establishment. Reason I say that is because once you get seated the staff are so welcoming and they tend to you very quickly. Upon ordering you have a free appetizer of fresh chips and salsa. The chips were freshly fried and hot and I am not exaggerating when I say they're the best chips I've ever had at any taqueria. The chips are not your average bagged tortilla chips. They were immaculate. I judge taquerias by their chips and salsa, and I can say it truly set the foundation for the rest of my experience to come. The salsa had the roasted tomato taste, perfect amount of everything and a kick of spice. I went rounds on it and I got worried I would get full off of it. Now for the main dish! I got the camarones a la diabla (devil shrimp), and I have to say that this dish is not for beginners, like you have to be able to enjoy spice. Although the spice of the shrimp was spicy, the flavor could not have been anymore flavorful! The sauce was so good you could take it to go and just eat it with tortilla chips, or rice when you get home. Vallejo got lucky having this restaurant open, they close late, and have karaoke night, and happy hour, and you can honestly make friends with the people sitting around because you feel so welcomed. I was sad when I got full because I wanted to eat more and try the whole menu, but trust me. I will be back!

Patronize local establishments. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Dalia's Restaurant, located at 1950 Broadway St in Vallejo. On a chilly and rainy day, we sought comfort food. The menudo we ordered was exceptional, boasting a rich flavor profile and generous portions of meat. I opted to exclude pata from my dish. Notably, the menudo lacked the strong odor often associated with this traditional dish. Instead, it presented a delightful aroma. The restaurant is family-run, with the owner, their son, and parents all contributing to the operation. We received a warm welcome from the owner, and our waiter, the owner's son, provided attentive service. To address our inquiries about specific menu items, the waiter arranged for the cook to meet with us. Overall, our experience was outstanding, and we look forward to continuing our support. Big plus, handmade fresh corn tortillas. The full Mexican flavors were all there!!! Dali's is named after the owners daughter who proudly serves for the U.S. Air Force. Please support this local gem.

I'll never forget standing around eating one after another between swigs of Modelo with friends... California tacos have always been generally great, but this place is special. Since Oaxaca, I've only had as good al pastor in Mexico City last year in a similar setting. So I'm super excited and grateful that Vallejo now has its own amazing popup serving these incredible tacos, and more. My husband is a burrito guy with a big appetite, yet the servings are so hearty he can only eat half in one sitting. And my al pastor tacos sent me back to that Oaxaca bus stop with adventures ahead. Sitting on a busy corner parking lot, this place is super popular so expect to wait, plus parking can be tricky. All said, the service is efficient and people are patient to wait for what they know is a good thing. While waiting you can bag up your own garnishes like pico, salsa, pickled peppers, sautéed or raw onions, and more. I saw some people enjoy their food in their cars, but both times we brought ours home since we live close and the packaging keeps everything together well. Truly the most authentic Mexican al pastor and more you'll find in Vallejo.

At best it's rated a 1 . The food is not even seasoned. Yes it's big portions but no season in the taco meat. I got 4 asada tacos and 1 asada torta for the cost of $29 and both orders weren't seasoned. Service was low level. Ambiance is a parking lot. The music was the only thing that was good. I really can't believe people be so excited to be in line for unseasoned food. Never again. So yes this is not a place I'd recommend to anyone.

We order ahead because we're on a tight schedule -- I'm a busy, involved parent getting him to the gym after school. A few weeks back, despite ordering plain chicken, his plate came out with pico de gallo. He won't eat it that way. I didn't have time to drive back, so I let it go. The following week, we ordered in person and the waitress assured me she double-checked the order. My son's meal came out correctly -- but my plate was made plain instead of how I ordered it. Not a big deal. I can eat it. I called simply to let them know there was a mix-up -- not demanding anything, not asking for free food. What I wasn't prepared for was being called a liar. I was told the order was made correctly and that if I wanted it fixed I had to bring everything back immediately -- including the salsas. I explained we were on a time schedule for my son's gym session. Instead of understanding, I was told my "games won't fly" there and that I was being a "Karen" looking for free food. My son was hungry and upset during the call. She heard him. We drove back anyway. I placed the plate on the counter, and once she saw it, the mistake was obvious. Only then did she offer to remake it. At that point it wasn't about the food -- it was about being accused of lying and being publicly disrespected in front of my child. Weeks later, I noticed the order was never refunded. I had to dispute the charge with American Express to get my money back. I've supported this restaurant for years. This wasn't about a wrong plate -- mistakes happen. It was about how we were treated when trying to resolve it. I can't return after being called dishonest and a beggar over a simple order issue.

The food is very, very good, the prices are reasonable, and the portions you get are worth it. It's kind of hard to miss when driving by, but they also have a small sign near the street letting you know they're there. I had known about this taco truck for years but never stopped until last year, and now I wish I had gone sooner. I ordered a super burrito and a few tacos. One thing I really like is that they actually list the length of their burritos on the menu. That's a nice touch because sometimes you order a "super burrito" somewhere else and end up with something small. Here, you know exactly what you're getting. Out of all the taco trucks in Vallejo, this is easily one of my top three burrito trucks. I try not to burn myself out eating at the same place too often, so I like switching between favorites, and this is definitely one I keep coming back to. I almost always get the steak burrito. One thing I really love is the pico de gallo they use. They use red onions, which gives it a nice touch, and every time I get it, I can really taste the cilantro in the pico de gallo throughout the burrito. The steak and chicken street tacos were also really good but the burrito is always my favorite! Parking is never an issue because they share a parking lot with an auto body shop during off-hours, so there's usually plenty of space. They also have cones to help guide cars entering and exiting the lot. When your food is ready, they call your order number over the microphone/intercom system, then ask if you want red or green sauce and chips. Overall, I've always had a great experience here. If you're in Vallejo and looking for a good taco truck, I definitely recommend giving this place a try.
