I've ordered takeout from Damas multiple times and everything I've had has been amazing. My favs are the kafta kebab platter and the chicken and lamb shawarmas. The mohammara appetizer dip was something new I tried here and it's also been a repeat get for me. It's family run and everyone is very friendly. So good! Their falafel is excellent in a pita or on its own. I love the falafel sandwich with all the toppings and the sampler appetizer is just perfect! My dinner was so good that I wanted to get it again the next day. I got the falafel and rice plate, hummus appetizer, a side of mohamarra, and fries. Not only is their food delicious but the prices are very fair. If you like tahini as much as I do, you'll be impressed. I've had falafel plates at other places that use too much lemon in my opinion. I love lemon don't get me wrong, but I really love tahini to shine through. The only thing that I didn't like about their menu was that yogurt was included in the baba ghanouj but maybe upon request it can be left out. Everything was delicious and very fresh. This is probably one of the best meals I have had in ages. The staff was so kind and friendly everything was fresh and full of complex flavors. I've been to Zahav so I have had very good Mediterranean style food and honestly this really ranks high. The place is very casual you order at the counter and seat yourself. I love Mediterranean food, and when you enter the store and see the staff preparing the food in the kitchen you know it's as authentic as you can get. Then there is the pleasure of eating the food. Let's say, we had much better. Their food was mediocre, nothing special to rave about. We ordered the lamb shawarma and kafta kebab entree. Portions were dinky for the price. We ended up still having to find something to eat when we got home. The ladies behind the counter did not acknowledge us when we were ready to order. They were busy chatting amongst themselves. Had to wait 45 minutes for the food. Not ideal if you are in a rush or starving. The restaurant is clean. We sat in the same booth when it was a bbq restaurant. This is one of our go to's for take out. Everything is high quality. I'm a vegetarian, my husband is a meat eater but very picky eater, and we have a toddler. All of us love the food here! My new favorite restaurant! The food and service here is awesome! My family used to go to Aroma, but when the owners sold it, we never came back (the service at Aroma was awful with the new staff). We came to Damas last weekend and were very happy with the food and the service. The food is the same as the food as Aroma. I recommend the chicken kebab. It's very very good. One criticism I have though is I wish that there were reusable plates and silverware, instead of disposable ones. It would really be more eco-friendly and less wasteful. Other than that, I love this place!! It's wayyyy better than Aroma. read more
