Beef shawarma plate (front) / chicken shawarma (back)

Amazing food, their chicken shawarma wrap was so good, I'm still thinking about it. We also tried their beef swarms wrap and it was good very fulfilling but the chicken was the best. Service was great. Restaurant is cozy and cute! Definitely will be going back!

The outside of the shawarma was nice and crispy, but the inside could have been a bit crispier. The chicken was tender and I liked the garlic dip that came with the shawarma. Service is relatively quick and staff are friendly. You can grab and go or sit and dine. 3.5 stars

3.1/5 You've all seen the "viral crispy shawarma" on social media. It still hasn't reached Seattle so while in Vancouver, I tracked down a place that had it which is how I found Damaskinos. Service - They were fine when I placed my order. My issue with service was that after my order was placed, they just stood there talking to each other for a good 5+ minutes before one of them started working on my food. This was only because more people came in and placed a large order. Ambiance - you walk down a thin path when you walk in, food prep area directly on your left. At the end is a counter with 3 bar stools and 3 tables in the back. More of a grab and go type of place. Food - I ordered the chicken shawarma. First thing you should know, they aren't prepared fresh. They have a stack of them premade sitting on the counter and they just throw them on the grill to heat up. If you get the chicken shawarma PLATTER. Those get made fresh and they add fries and the pomegranate molasses to it. What I ordered was just chicken toom and pickles. Overall it was ok. I feel like I still need to try a proper one.

(3.5/5) I heard about the crispy shawarma at Damaskino on social media and wanted to try it for myself! The portion was not very big but the flavor was good. The chicken was tender and not dry, and the wrap was indeed very crispy. I took my shawarma to-go as the shop is quite small (there is space for seating around 15 people). Personally, I did think the wrap was pricey for the portion and did not have a lot of ingredients (it was just chicken and pickles). The garlic sauce was also added at the end so you only have it with your first bite, and the rest of the wrap is sauceless.

I heard about Damaskino through TikTok - they had a couple of reels gone viral showcasing their crispy shawarmas so that's what I went there for. I went there on a Friday night around 9pm (they close at 11pm) but I guess since it was halloween weekend, they were pretty busy and I was their last order of the night! We did have to wait a good 30-40mins for our food that night (i don't think they are always like this, it was probably all the social media hype + halloween weekend that put them in this situation) but the food was soooo worth it! I took the shawarmas to go and they did get cold by the time I ate them to the crispy-ness wasn't the best but it was still there! They have amazing deals - I got their 3 mini shawarma plate which came with fries and garlic sauce. I would HIGHLY recommend their garlic sauce, it was incredible! Their fries were pretty good too.

First time trying Syrian shawarma -- fresh chicken, great flavor, and friendly service at Damaskino Shawarma. Solid spot.

Definitely try to go at opening or when it is not busy, as the dine-in experience is memorable - they place your order in a long wooden board to make it a beautiful spread. We got the Manoush'eh Special which has ground beef, pomegranate, etc and Sham Style which is shaped like a boat. We also tried the yogurt drink which pairs well with the dishes. The only con is that this place does not have free water, but it is no problem to have our own water bottles supplementing the meal. We also got the lentil soup which is pretty good. Definitely sufficient to share one to try, but the Manoush'eh outshines the rest of the items. I loved the quality and texture of the Manoush'eh and just the breads in general. It is a lot of food for 2 people so if you want a snack, you can definitely just share 1. Some people go here for the wraps too. Overall, an affordable restaurant with good food. We got the most expensive items and it was less than 50 CAD all-in, but a lot of the items are around the 10 CAD mark.

My coworker and I came here on a Saturday afternoon, we got a reservation ahead of time and I'm glad we did because this place was pretty busy. We got their aperol spritz for drinks which was very refreshing, would recommend this for the summer. For food, we got their dip platter and chose their hummus, labne, and baba ghannouj. My coworker was gluten-free so they were very nice to give us some gluten free chips instead of the bread with the dips. We also got their halloumi fries which came with a pomegrante dipping sauce - I LOVED IT! The halloumi fries were cooked so well! We also got their prawns which were really fresh and delicious. I would definitely come back! Their hummus was so good, it's for sure a very authentic Lebanese spot.

I ordered a hibiscus tea while I waited for my friend. It was incredibly refreshing and flavorful, the best I have ever had. For food, we shared a bunch of stuff. We got a dip sampler with labneh, hummus, and an eggplant dip. All were fantastic and came out beautifully. They brought gluten free crackers out for me as well. The shrimp was divine. Garlicky, flavorful, so good. Will be thinking about this for a while. Definitely order sides, as the proteins just come with the protein listed unless you do a lunch special. The halloumi fries were incredible and came with an amazing sauce. Fried in a dedicated gluten free frier- amazing. The food was paired with a lovely aperol spritz, a lovely patio, and a kind and attentive server. Would go back every week if I could.
