I like this little old fashioned hardware store. Parking is super easy in their lot every time I've been there. Very nice helpful people. The only reason they don't get 5 stars is not really a knock on them. It's a smaller store and there's just no way they can stock every exotic rare piece necessary but I think almost every time you need something they'll have it. read more

I've always been greeted with a smile and asked if I can be helped. Most of the time when you go into a big box store all of the staff run in the opposite direction or ignore you. It's always nice to try a support a local business from time to time but do youself a favor and shop here as often as you can. I would hate to lose this little treasure. I was 90% finished instaling a new faucet on a Saturday afternoon and realized I did not have the correct fitting to finish the job. I didn't feel like heading down to San Clemente and deal with the 5 freeway. I popped over to DP Hardware and was able to complete the job. The staff there is amazing, helpful and friendly - very knowledgeable!. My home was built in the early 80's and often you cannot find off-the-shelf parts -. Not a problem, the gal helped me piece it all together. From now on I will make this place my first stop before heading to the big - box with midioce service! read more

These folks really want to get it right for you!! I've been buying keys for years here because their keys always work, which when you are a Realtor is a big deal. Excellent hardware store. They have most everything, and will tell you where to find things. I just bought two halogen light bulbs. They gave me a rubber glove. I asked, "what's this for", and they said not to touch the bulbs when installing them. Is someone going to do that a one of the mega h/w stores? I think not. read more

Great store to have right down the street. They have a great selection of tools and supplies for such a little store. It saves driving 25 minutes round trip to Home Depot. They cost a bit more but you make it back not having to pay the gas. read more

I've been frequenting their store for the last few years. They are a convenient alternative to Home Depot and Lowes. They helped me buy the correct plumbing fittings when replacing the garbage disposal. Great customer service. This is a convenient, well supplied hardware store in Dana Point. They are a little hard to find. They are on the bottom floor of a two story building on Del Prado (That is the street heading south east). It has come in handy more than once for household items. They have a full array of every screw and washer you could use, including items you would never think you could find. They are also very knowledgeable and happy to give you tips on the proper way to fix something. The items are a little pricier than at Lowes or Home Depot but then I don't have to travel 10 miles to the store either. read more

Dana Point Hardware is one of my favorite types of stores; the old-school hardware store. I can walk from one end to the other in less than 45 seconds. Yet they have at least three of everything you could ever need. And with four full-time employees, calculating the "square foot to friendly employee" ratio, that would be like Home Depot having 135 orange-vested expert helpers roaming each of their 37 aisles at any one time.
