First time here and I understand why the line was so long! Portions are huge and very filling! It's first come first serve for seating. You're required to order at the front first and then find seating. Small cafe so there isn't a ton of indoor seating available during morning rush, but they do offer outdoor seating. Food was so yummy and I'll definitely be back! Everything ordered was delicious! They have a pretty large menu too.

We came for Sunday brunch around 11:45 am and as expected, it was paaaacked. Luckily we found one parallel parking spot left on the side of the building (especially since it's not much parking to begin with). We were greeted upon entering and although the line was long, it probably took 10 minutes to place our order and maybe less than that to actually get our food. We also were able to get seating as well in the back area which faced our car. My husband said his honey chicken biscuit was worth the wait! Which says a lot because he hates waiting, restaurants with sparse parking and tight seating and he said he'd come again. Definitely a place to enjoy some good food and even better staff!

Finally got to try the chicken waffles and it was soooo good! Great portions! Loved the salty butter!! Such a comforting meal; would recommend for brunch! You order at the front and then find a table after. Smooth, easy process. We walked here from our apartment so I can't speak for parking. Staff was friendly!

From the outside, it's so cute, perfect for a casual quick brunch! I didn't have a bad time here at all, but for 3 people with 3 entrees (migas, blueberry French toast, chicken and waffles) and a mimosa flight it was $85 dollars. The French toast was so yummy, but the other dishes quality and taste was not worth it cost and size wise. The line does move semi-fast, but people in line definitely get impatient and you can hear snarky remarks occasionally. All the servers were kind, but our cashier definitely didn't want to be there. Flies were everywhere even with the fan but it was all over every table outside. It's cute and worth coming once, but don't think I'd be back unless with a group outing!

On a hanger-quest, the Hubs brought me here. We were greeted with two things: an impossibly long line and a server who handed us two menus and hope. "The line moves fast and there's always seating. Don't be discouraged!" She wasn't wrong. The line does move fast and what awaits you is excellent food. We came for brunch and were torn between the Double Play weekend special sandwich and the lemon blueberry French toast. We compromised, ordered both, and engaged in breakfasting bliss. It's loud, but efficient and well-tended.

I've been here twice now and each time the food has been great! I came here last year for my birthday brunch and again for my birthday yesterday! The first time I got chicken and waffles and when I tell you the waffles have such a sweet and delicious taste. In my opinion it taste a bit like cornbread. Then the chicken thighs are fried to perfection too! This time I got the chilaquiles which has chicken and omg! It was so delicious!! It was great sitting outside they have such a beautiful little area to eat in and just have a good time. Everyone was also so nice and helpful and very welcoming!

Tucked in the neighborhood of the Heights. You order at the counter when you first walk in, get your buzzer, then self-serve utensils & condiment station, then seat yourself. If you are trying to decide to visit this location or Bellaire...this location provides a much larger comfortable & inviting dining space to sit & converse over your food as well as outdoor seating. The other location is much smaller & when busy, not as much privacy & more inclined to leave as soon as you finish eating. Food: Scrambled Eggs, onions added (9/10)- flavorful without adding any salt or pepper. Maple sausage (9/10) has a nice soft spiciness. Hash browns (9/10) are thinly shredded potatoes full of flavor. Cannot figure out what they are seasoned with. Grits (8/10)- creamy, little thick don't need to add anything to them. French toast with blueberry & lemon, (7/10)- Flavor toppings work well together, toast is soft throughout. It cooled off very fast so it wasn't really warm when I ate it. I'd try pancakes next time. Parking: Parking is very limited in front of the building & a little street parking so you might get lucky. Otherwise, the free valet booth is right in front of the building.

I really wanted to like Dandelion Cafe, but the food just did not do it for me. The space itself has a really nice aesthetic. It is large, and I was able to easily find parking, which I appreciated. I ordered the breakfast platter with eggs, hash browns, chicken sausage, and pancakes. The eggs came with shredded cheese that was not melted, which I did not enjoy. The hash browns were not my favorite, and the chicken sausage was a bit dry. The pancake was good, though. The highlight for me was the coffee. That was actually really good, and I would come back for that. Its mostly self service as you order then you receive a buzzer and seat yourself.

Resilience, hope, transformation = dandelion Met some friends on a Saturday at 11 am. It's snuggled up among a neighborhood, close to a park. There is small lot as well as street parking. It was busy. When you get inside there's a holder with menus inside, grab one. There will be a line. You follow it through a short maze to the register where you order. Do not find a table. There's a sign this says you may be asked to get up because of their process. There's inside and outside seating. The menu isn't huge and they do have specials. There's a selection of breakfast items and a small lunch menu. There are cocktails of course too. I went basic since this was my first time and ordered the dandy classic - Choice of bacon, maple sausage, pollo sausage, chorizo or avocado w/2 eggs, roasted hashbrowns, choice of toast. My order: 2 eggs over easy, pollo sausage and sourdough toast The eggs were cooked perfectly over easy which was a win and the pollo sausage was so very delicious; the roasted hash browns were simultaneously crispy and tender soft at the same time and the sourdough toast was not overly dense, I did get strawberry jam which I think might be made in house. Very nice. I had a strawberry lemonade to wash it all down. You pick up your drinks at the bar and there is a buzzer that you leave on your table (has a number) and they bring the food to you. There is a little counter that has silverware, napkins and water. Overall, we had a nice experience, The staff is amazing. The cashier was friendly and not overwhelmed from how busy they were. The guy that delivered the food was so sweet and funny and the staff member that picked up our plates told us it wasn't as busy as usual - say what? I thought it was super busy. The only small thing that was a bit annoying was they charged $1 for the sourdough bread which isn't a big deal but when she asked me what kind of toast - white, wheat or sourdough, there was no mention of an up charge. I would have gotten the sourdough anyway but I like the info. It might have been listed somewhere but I didn't notice it and the cashier never mentioned it. Def would come back but maybe during the week.

I ended up at Dandelion Café after my first breakfast option fell through, and honestly it turned into a great little discovery. I ordered the Dandy Breakfast with eggs over medium, maple sausage, and swapped the toast for a biscuit with apple jam. The food itself was delicious, but about half my order came out wrong, different sausage and strawberry jam instead of what I asked for. I was starving so I just rolled with it, and what I did get still hit the spot. The space has a lot of charm. There's great outdoor seating if the weather cooperates, and the inside is cute without trying too hard. One of my favorite touches was the "make your own mimosa" setup where you can pick your own juice. Little details like that make the place feel fun and personal. Despite the mix-up, I'd definitely come back. Good food, relaxed vibe, and a nice surprise for a backup breakfast plan.

Better than the first time I came! Busy on a Friday midday during the holidays so the line to order was long. Gingerbread latte was a good size, very fragrant and festive, I really enjoyed it! The chilaquiles was very tasty, the chips were a nice thickness and crunch. The eggs on top made it filling and protein packed, all the flavors made this a nice savory dish. Would get this again!

This place is pretty busy on the weekend but had great reviews so I decided to go back and grab it to go during a weekday. The chilaquiles was really good. It comes with chicken and of course, all the usual ingredients in Chilaquiles but I like to get my scrambled with extra cheese added. I was a little disappointed. They didn't have any fajita beef, but the chicken was still really good. I will definitely go back to get the full dining experience.

Showed up hungry, left slightly smug. I was the master of my own destiny with the Build-Your-Own omelette and it delivered. Eggs that actually tasted like eggs and fillings that didn't hide. Solid, no-nonsense, the kind of omelette that makes you feel like you made a responsible adult decision before 10 a.m. My son ordered the blueberry French toast and immediately started making the kind of noises usually reserved for people who just found money in an old coat. Thick, properly custardy, real blueberries, not the sad frozen ones that taste like purple ice. He cleaned the plate like it owed him money. That's the review that matters. Sunday morning verdict: Come for the French toast, stay because the coffee is bottomless...and the staff rocks. Heights breakfast done right.

In the past they would bring out a bread basket, as a free appetizer like how some mexican restaurants bring out chips and salsa, however, they dont seem to do that here anymore. Service at the table was mediocre, our waitress took our drink order and on the way over, the waitress was spilling the drinks over the floor on the way to our table. After our waitress took our order, my gf did not get the mayo on the side as she had asked, and after we received our food, our waitress never came around to check on us, didn't refill our drinks or anything. The place was very loud, louder than visiting waffle house. I was trying to have a conversation with my gf sitting just across the table from one another, and we were having to literally yell at one another just to hear what each other were saying. My gf did state that the sandwich she ordered was a big sandwich, and was more than she could finish. Once we were ready to go, our waitress still hadn't been around to check on us. So I had to flag down someone else, to get us some to go boxes, and our check. Low and behold, when I was ready to checkout, the waitress appears out of nowhere, after all this time, I'm guessing because she thought she was going to get a good tip. I'm sorry, waitstaff only get a great tip from me, once and if they perform a great job duty, and this was not the case in this matter. Maybe, better luck next time, maybe Papas needs to hire better waitstaff worth hiring and keeping.

Mr. Picky ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp while I opted for Veal Parmigiana, and we each stole a bite from the other's plate. I wasn't there to judge that competition and have had better, but sincerely appreciated the moistness of the bread pudding. While the majority of diners were older and a more mature crowd, there's a lot to be said for value, and we thought the menu price was better than reasonable and I think a lot of people will discover this as a value destination, something we all appreciate.
