I eat here as often as I can. Such good food, and such friendly people! Last time I was in they accidentally charged me for someone else's food (like a two dollars difference or something, no biggie), and I didn't even notice. Went back to work with the correct food I ordered, but they called me to tell me about the charge mishap and told me to just let them know next time I'm in and they'll give me a pastry on the house. Def a ladies lunch type of place (not that men aren't welcome, you just don't see many here), it is my go to place, just love it. A must-go when in Henderson. Dandelion's a non-profit training restaurant, and their food and service definitely don't miss the mark. I got the shrimp and grits with a Waldorf salad. The shrimp and grits were cooked with veggies that added another level of depth to the dish. My only complaint would be that it was a little too cheesy for my liking and the grits were kind of cake-y instead of loose, but that's my own preference, and it tasted phenomenal. This is a local eatery that is an outcropping of a battered women's shelter and ministry. I have eaten here several times and always find the food wonderful. What's not to love about this place? Everything I have ever had is wonderfully made and delicious. When our youngest son got married, they catered his reception and they knocked it out of the ballpark. After a monthly doctor's appointment my significant partner (beloved companion) and I had the opportunity to check in for breakfast. It was our first visit on a Monday morning, and also turned out to be a "Monday Morning" for manager and staff at well. Things were just going wrong way for them, but I was in a good mood and didn't care, because they were so nice. Orders were slow, this that and the other--- but it finally came together and the food was GREAT. After our food we had the chance to learn more about the concept behind the business and was taken away with pride. They do so much to help victims of domestic abuse that I was astounded. What a great concept. Since that initial visit, we plan to go each time I go to my doctor in town. Here's the thing....the food is great, but the people are wonderful and they care. They really care about the final delivery of food and have great attitudes serving you. I'm first to tell anyone to go there and enjoy themselves. Bravo. read more

I absolutely LOVE Dandelion cafe. The tomato pie is to die for. The quiche is flavorful and fluffy. The grilled chicken sandwich is made on delicious brioche buns. The turkey brie panini has a few too many caramelized onions for my taste, but the flavors are tasty nonetheless. Their kale apple salad should be everyone's choice for side item. All the food is local and farm fresh. The wait staff was really nice. I had a portbella sandwich with balsamic and feta, and it was really yummy. We got a few quiches, spinach, mushroom and feta that were warm and delicious with kale side salads. We brought in a group of 8 people, from 12 yr olds to 60 and it they all enjoyed the food. The menu changes constantly based on the local food donations. They apparently employ women from the women's shelter next door to help them build skills to become self-sufficient. They were 3 people short on staff when we were there and we still got our food pretty quickly. We arrived around 11:30am and I'm not sure if there was a breakfast menu if we had gotten there earlier but I'd say it was more lunch food than breakfast or brunch. The only reason I gave this a 4 star instead of a 5 was that one of the three Waldorf chicken salad croissant sandwiches had a bone left in it. But overall, everything was really good, and the decorations and environment are very cute. read more

My wife and I live nearby and eat at the Dandelion at least once per week. Food is as tasty and well prepared as any that you would find in restaurants that charge twice as much for similar food. Servers are mostly volunteers and they are enthusiastic about you having a good experience. Best baked goods for the money as anywhere in town. Of course you get that " feel good feeling" each time for helping out a worthy organization. Also, be sure to visit their resale shop next door for that must have item that is missing in your life. read more

The chicken salad was a bit dry and the pasta salad had little to no flavor; it honestly tasted like noodles and nothing else. We arrived with a party of 7 during a busy lunch hour but were immediately accommodated by the manager/owner with a table (even though it's open seating). The menu varies everyday but everyone in our party enjoyed their meals, specifically the grilled pimento and the shrimp and grits. They offer many unique sides (watermelon feta, beet goat cheese, etc) that are all delicious! However, the above and beyond service is what surprised us the most. As a group of 7, we expect to wait a bit longer but were given a free plate of their pimento cheese because it had taken slightly longer than they had hoped. We three were looking for a reasonably quick place for a light lunch before heading over to Flat Rock for the Wednesday matinee. On-line sites suggested Dandelion. We were greeted with a friendly greeting at the front desk where orders are taken from the chalkboard menu on the wall. We selected the Chicken Pot Pie with Fruit, the seemingly renowned Tomato Pie with Broccoli and Raisin Salad and the Soup of the day, Ribollita, with orzo salad. Our order arrived within minutes of sitting at a convenient table and each was a treat.
