Found this place online and we're not disappointed! Really nice greeting as we came in. He recommended the chicken salad as it's homemade. My son in law was all over that! He got it on Dutch crunch and said it was the best chicken salad he has ever had. My daughter ordered the chicken Cesar salad.... She thought it would be in house cooked chicken breast but it was the prepackaged chicken. I had the ham, salami and Swiss on Dutch crunch.... Bread was really fresh and the flavors were so good. Our friend ordered the chicken salad on rye.... Again bread was really fresh. The kids all got grilled cheese. Sandwiches come with "the works"- mayo, mustard, garlic oil, lettuce, tomato, pickle, peppercinis, seasoning. Great local place!

Dandy Sandos is my husband and I's #1 go-to local spot for sandwiches here in Petaluma. They have all sorts of creative sandwiches such as "Gone Golfing," "The P-Town" and "What's Up Bro?", crafted by the owner that are perfect for picnics, a quick easy lunch or a night in while you watch Stranger Things. *Pepper Jack Sparrow- On a Dutch Crunch Roll (The best), this sandwich is on the secret menu with pepper jack cheese, Dandy's special sauce, onions and turkey. *Turkey Sandwich-I always get the Dutch Crunch Roll with everything on it (except lettuce) and add the Dandy Sauce, mustard, oil and vinegar. The first bite crunch is sooo satisfying and the sandwiches are so juicy and made with fresh ingredients. It's also a hole in the wall that has a welcoming atmosphere. The employees somehow always remember our names (can you tell we're regulars? lol), and they make you feel like part of a close community that you want to support even more. Price per sandwiches are fantastic starting just at $10.99 (like, excuse me?!) and worth every penny. Dandy's also has a select number of nostalgic drinks besides sodas such as Olipops, energy drinks, etc. Whenever you check out, don't forget your free treat (dum-dum lollipops or smarties!) We highly recommend if you're every visiting P-town. :)

I used to know Dandy Sandos as Mr. Pickles back in the day. The name changed, but the sandwiches remain fantastic . Walking inside you get hit but all the cool decor this place has, making it cosy and fun. The staff are friendly and are hard at work at their sandwich making craft. My personal favorite- P Town on a Dutch crunch . If you're looking for just a darn good sandwich then I'd totally recommend Dandy Sandos; it's one of the best sandwich places around in my opinion. Lots of options to choose from or you can make your own favorite! All delicious.

I've become a big fan of Dandy Sandos! I love sandwiches and these are no exception. They have a large menu of sandwiches as well as a build your own menu. The sandwiches are unique and tasty! I love how fresh the ingredients are, especially the bread! The sandwiches are huge and can easily be two meals. They don't hold back with toppings. Service is also great! The employees are kind and have my sandwiches ready quickly. It's usually not too busy when I come in and there's always seating available. I definitely recommend checking them out!

Staff is superb, on phone and in person, always friendly. Any special requests are noted and followed carefully. Food is delicious, go-tos include the Little Pepper #16, Mustang #12, and the Gaucho. The storefront, near a local high school and suburbs, gives a great local business feel. Go-to sandwich shop, will come again!

Great place for a sandwich. My husband had The Tony Soprano with roast beef and pastrami and some Dandy sauce.Mine was the Petaluma Panther with hot pastrami, cream, cheese, and avocado. Have never tried a sandwich with cream cheese before, it was SO GOOD. I took my husband's half the next day at work , my coworkers were jealous. I didn't feel bad for not being able to finish my sandwich, I looked at the table in front of us, full of youngsters who ALL had to have their sandwiches wrapped up. read more

Absolutely love this place, just a short walking distance from my work, it's my go-to place to grab a quick lunch. I've been working my way in going through their entire menu of sandwiches but completely forgot that they have a rotating special of the week. The sandwich I most recently had was the #10 "What's up Bro?" with everything on it on a wheat roll. So far, out of all the sandwiches I've eaten from here, none of them have disappointed me. If sandwiches isn't your thing and would prefer something with little to no bread, you can always have any of the ingredients of a sandwich put into a wrap rather than bread. They have salads as well and the salads that they make are HUUUGE. You can order any of the sandwiches and have them make it into a salad and just choose the dressing. The workers here are great and a lot of the customers are repeating customers that the workers recognize. I would suggest calling in your order if you're really pressed on time but other than that the lunch rush can get busy but they're pretty quick to get orders out. I have nothing to complain about regarding Dandy Sandos and will continue on my quest to try all of their sandwiches :) read more

Omg. I've been on a sandwich wagon lately, and this place is SO GOOD. Really fresh ingredients and the sandwiches are bomb. Essential for any city to have a solid sandwich shop and this is one of them. They have gluten free bread which is awesome! The service was great. Helpful people and nice. I called in advanced to asked if they carry GF bread and they were great over the phone as well as in person. The place inside is good. They have plenty of tables for you to eat. This was our first visit at Dandy Sandos after looking for places to eat and reading previous reviews. The environment was clean, organized, and offered plenty of seating. The staff was friendly, inviting, and extremely helpful in describing the different sandwiches and offering recommendations. The sandwiches were delicious and there were a variety of drinks and other goodies to complete the meal. WARNING: This place charges you hidden fees. Make sure that you pay attention when you are paying. I ordered a Tony Soprano listed at $12.49 and the person rang it up as $12.99 (50 cents more). On top of the excess hidden fee, they charged me a higher sales tax rate of 10% (the current rate for sales tax is 9.50% for Petaluma). And the sandwich made sick. It's one thing to make money, but to undermine the intelligence of your customers and add shady hidden fees and pocket them. You owe excess tax reimbursement to the California Department of Tax for over-collecting from your customers. read more

I absolutely love it here! They have the best sandwiches and their salads are the best in town! The staff is always so friendly and welcoming! The prices are great too! They have a great selection of beverages and chips to choose from as well. I love how they have all their goodies on the counter like brownies, pound cakes and cookies! They even offer lollipops or a free mini cookie for dessert! These guys see me about once a week! I highly recommend their pulp fiction sandwich or the tuna salad . OMG! It's sooooo good! Hell yeah! So I'm from SoCal but travel up here a lot for work, and this place is my go to up here in Petaluma! Fuck all the shit reviews about gloves and sanitary conditions. Do you wear gloves when you cook at home? I didn't think so, it's a fucking deli. Anyways, I've had this place at least 5 times now and it's been on point every single time. I've been here a few times since moving from Sacramento. I had a fave sandwich place in Sacramento that made the best sandwiches and I'm happy to say Dandy's makes sandwiches just as good as that place! The service here is excellent and today I was very impressed because the guy who rang us up offered us some ham to give our toddler who was getting a little antsy/hangry. We came in during the lunch rush and got our sandwiches quickly. This is my new fave sandwich spot! read more

Went in there for the first time it was around 4pm not really busy. I had the Buddha bacon or bacon Brudda on a Dutch Crunch roll which is my favorite roll I didn't have the standard bacon lettuce tomato it had all that plus pickles, avocado and wax peppers brought it home with me and it was delicious and if anybody has seen me I take my food seriously. unsanitary!!! This place was ok for a sandwich, I would go back if they could wear mask. Employees (3-4 men) like to congregate and non stop talking by the condements/meat while one of hem was making a sandwich. You could only imagine how much spit went on my sandwich and on everything else, ewww. Did not say anything, took my sandwich and place it straight to the trash can. read more

This place has the best sub sandwiches! If you're traveling through Petaluma CA and want something WAY better than Subway for a good lunch, find this place. I'm not sure if this place is a hidden treasure or if it's a place that all the locals know about; but I'm sure glad we found it. They have a Tony Soprano Sub, and one called the Intimidator that was just delish!! They also gave an assortment of soda pops and baked goods that are also very yummy . The atmosphere is cool, staff was friendly and actually came out from behind their counter to welcome you and talk with you about all the different selections they offer. Who does that? These guys. The roll was great and overall I enjoyed it. About $18 for a sandwich, which seemingly is the going rate these days for a sandwich. Fresh, delicious and a solid option for bougie Italian sandwiches.

My lunch friend mentioned that the restaurant is owned and operated by a husband and wife team: Annette and Brian. The regulars were greeted with familiarity. It wasn't the kind of place where you're rushed for your order, nor is it a dine and dash location. The menu - both food and drink - has tantalizing options, so it's best to come back repeatedly. My Turkish Coffee arrived quickly after I ordered it, despite Annette being the only server on the floor. I enjoyed the Bocadillo too, especially the pickled vegetables that accompany the sandwich. For those complaining that the portions were small or that the prices were high, the quality of ingredients and depth of flavor are worth the cost and my portion was more than enough to satisfy my appetite, plus I left with the other half of my sandwich as an offering for my hungry twenty-something at home. We ordered a rice pudding for dessert and dug in before I was able to snap a picture! It was delicious though, with the poached blueberries and almonds offering an ideal balance of texture and flavor to earn this simple dessert my esteem. They did, however , offer beef Wellington which was not on the menu. We waited 15-20 minutes for the waiter to take our order. we had not been asked about beverages or starters either. In a word, the service was very slow. that being said, our waiter was congenial. And all the food we ordered was delicious. we ordered the house fried potatoes for a starter. They were delicious but the serving was pretty small. What seemed odd to us was that the potatoes that were served as a side with the hamburgers were not the same as what was served as the starter. The starter was clearly made from fresh cut porates and were well seasoned. the potatoes with the entree seemed like run of the mill food service fries. The beet salad and entrees were also very tasty. however, we asked for the mustard aioli on the side with the hamburgers but that's not what we got. For dessert we ordered the milk chocolate mousse and the crème boule. They were okay but nothing extraordinary . Given all the outstanding restaurants to choose from in Sonoma County, think it's unlikely we will go back.
