We went there for Father's day brunch. I did not go to Yelp prior to fish for a review, it was just a place we noticed and thought it would be perfect for Father's day. So this review is slighted because of the special Menu. The normal menu was not offered. We made reservations for 3 and decided we the patio was nice so the hostess started seating us at a high two top. We mentioned again it was for 3 people and the third would be joining us shortly. The special menu was not so special, especially for dad. Maybe, prime rib, lasagna, hamburger, steak, fish, or something dad may like. The menu was rather ordinary to my surprise. crab cakes Benedict, veggie frittata, French toast, scallops, and a few other items were offered. We were informed that because it was a special menu there were not a lot of changes offered because they had prepped everything for this menu. My friend ordered the frittata without mushrooms, and I had the frittata with sausage after asking the kitchen. I had a few bites of the French toast. The fresh fruit with it was great for berries. The syrup was normal and good. Oddly the bread was stale and the crust was blackened on the two bites I had. Not worth the calories in my opinion. The frittata was a frittata, average. Before our food came we moved inside from the patio because the sun started baking. Oddly all the tables in the shade had umbrellas. They would not move us to a table with an umbrella and explains later in the day we would be in the shade and those tables needed the umbrellas. We decided to try dessert. We shared two Brownie ala modes. No nuts but that's ok. They were-average- sorry. The place has a nice atmosphere, and good bed the impression of moderately pricey so you expect an exceptional meal. My expectation was not exceeded or met. We had to ask for our water and tea to be refilled. We had to wait for ever it seemed for food that was unremarkable and expensive for what was delivered. They ran out of Chilula hot sauce the day before. Only Tabasco helped to spice up the frittata. I wanted to like this place, and I'm sure others will not have the same experience I had. Delicious food and drinks! We began with the Blueberry Limoncello Lemon Drop and the Poma Rita, both were great. The burrata appetizer was delicious, along with the fried chicken and shrimp scampi for our entrees. We ended the evening with the vanilla bean crème brûlée and it just completed the whole meal. Great food, beautiful decor, friendly service. The inside is elegant yet rustic - perfect for a nice date night or casually stopping by for a drink. There's a cute patio that I definitely want to sit out on this summer. My mother in law and I had the southern fried chicken (FYI it's boneless! I was very happy about that as I'm not a huge fan of bone-in chicken). It was incredible - the breading was fried perfectly golden brown and crispy and the bourbon gravy was really creamy and delicious (although I didn't detect any bourbon flavor). My husband really liked his pot roast. The pasta ribbons are made in-house and my father in law cleared his plate of pasta bolognese. We had a great bottle of red Zinfandel. This restaurant is a nice location in Castle Pines. I honestly wasn't too thrilled with the food. I ordered chicken piccata, which was okay but needed salt and pepper and the risotto that came with it was a little mushy. My husband ordered the chicken Marsala which was good. For dessert we had the creme brûlée and it was just okay and also the brownie with ice cream and that was really good. I gave them 3 stars because I feel the quality of the food did not match the price. With so many great options in castle rock and castle pines, I don't think we will be going back. read more

I'd been wanting to try Danielle's for quite some time...Love supporting local eateries/non-chains. I had been there for happy hour a few years ago but didn't really sample much food. We took my mother-in-law on a Sunday late lunch. I had the Colorado Sunrise cocktail (I believe that was the name) and it was made to perfection! My MIL and I had the same thing: mushroom Swiss burger without bacon..and my husband requested the blackened chicken sandwich to be grilled instead of fried. All of our food was delish, cooked perfectly (chicken breasts are usually overdone but his was tender and juicy), hot and crispy fries...and we enjoyed the nice touch of the branding on the buns. Our waiter, Tyler was extremely friendly and accommodating with all our special requests. My wife and I were at Danielle's Scratch Kitchen on Saturday, May 18th, for dinner. While waiting for the rest of our party we sat at the bar and each ordered a drink. Today my wife noticed the amount that came through on our account did not match our receipt. The amount was only a difference of $5.00. We stopped in for lunch on Sunday, using the $30 worth of food Groupon. We were on our way home from a weekend in Manitou Springs. The atmosphere is very clean and welcoming, Our server greeted us immediately and was very responsive throughout the meal. We started with the calamari. It was very light and crispy breaded. In addition to the calamari rings and tentacles were fried jalapenos and fresno chilis. We finished the whole serving, couldn't stop devouring it. Hubs had the Southern Fried Chicken (like a chicken fried steak dish) with bourbon gravy over very thin crispy french fries. The serving was very large. The fries were perfectly crisp. The chicken was very flavorful and perfectly cooked. I tried the pepperoni and sweet onion flatbread pizza. Perfectly crisp crust and delicious toppings. We live in South Aurora. Even though we bought the Groupon knowing of our weekend in Manitou, we feel the drive is going to be worth it to come back and enjoy a meal here again! read more

We found Danielle's house hunting one word A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! I am Celiac and the first time I had a clam dish in white wine sauce with GF noodles - it was fantastic! My husband had the chicken fried steak and loved it. The second time he had the same and because clams were too expensive they subbed shrimp and it was just as wonderful! I truly wonder if people know GREAT food, when you read the reviews for Danielle's "scratch" Kitchen? We stopped by right after Thanksgiving and many things went wrong. The place was empty at 11 AM so we literally had lunch with our waiter/manager/owner (he never was clear on that one). But, he was determined to sell us on this place and would not leave us alone. (Big red flag that things are not going well...). And, I especially took offense when he tried to convince us a great restaurant is not just about the food. WRONG!!! And, I thought it highly inappropriate and irresponsible to tell us they don't have a chef, that one is not needed, that they have cooks who are hungry for the job and do a great job. WRONG AGAIN!!! So here goes... My starter of French Onion soup had sugar in it! Who does that? The "plate" of soup was strange to begin with, but when I tasted the sugar it completely put me off. What a shame. However, we enjoyed the crab cakes. Entree was the "Southern Fried" chicken which was anything but. First off, he raved about this concoction of cheeses they have developed instead of using a roux for the gravy and I'm sorry, but it just doesn't work and I did not like the taste; it was bitter and not the gravy that compliments fried chicken. The dish was also served over fries, so from the description I thought I would receive something like a Cajun poutine (fries smothered in cheese and a brown gravy), but nope - that was not it either. As well, there was very little gravy after all the hype about it (???). Anyway, for this Southern gal, this was a hot mess. Hubs had the Chef's Risotto, was not impressed, because again was too "cheesy" with a bitter taste. At least we left with a good taste in our mouths, as the Pumpkin Mascarpone was delicious - but again with the cheese (?) Maybe a rename of this place to Danielle's Cheese Restaurant might be in order. Now, I will say the architecture, decor and bar inside and out is beautiful, but if I'm planning to drop some serious bucks on a nice dinner out, it must ALWAYS include excellent food prepared by a professional chef and a dining experience that includes just me, my partner and whoever else we invite to join our party. Sorry, Danielle's.... we were not impressed, were not in need of being impressed and won't be back. read more

We were waiting to try Danielle's after moving to the area. Believe all of the great reviews that you see here. The staff was friendly and welcoming, the food was extraordinary (had the marsala and osso buco). What topped off the evening after a decadent chocolate brownie with ice cream, was a call that we received from the restaurant once we returned home. The bus person found my tennis bracelet under our table which must have broken when I put my coat on. She turned it over to the manager and he tracked us down through our reservation. We had the best experience here last night. The atmosphere and love music were great. I had the seafood Mac and cheese, loved it. My fiancé had the sea bass and it melted in your mouth. So good. Our server was attentive and had a good sense of humor. I would say the only bad experience was the host. She acted as though we were annoying her when we first arrived and she had to seat us. Haha. One of the best dining experiences I have had in Colorado. The atmosphere is welcoming and great for a family night, first date, or finer occasion. The waitstaff is attentive and warm (Thank you, Jennifer!!). But the star of the show is definitely the food. I had the market special, halibut over lime rice with a tomato salsa, avocado and sautéed veggies (green beans). The dish was amazingly balanced and delicious. Individually, the parts were great but the dish together was a work of art. My girlfriend had the Seabass, which may have been the best fish dish that either of us had had outside of Florida (born and raised). The seabass was served on a bed of the chef's special risotto (which could have written the book on the dish) and sautéed broccolini. I had the fried chicken and I am so glad I asked for the sauce on the side ...they smother it with a gravy that wasn't to my liking. My boyfriend got the bacon swiss cheeseburger he said the bacon wasn't cooked well. Amazing! Everything's delicious every time we go. The village pasta is my favorite thing on the menu, but you can't go wrong with the ribs, burgers, flatbreads, salads, etc. Their drinks are perfect foe the summer as well including their peach vodka lemonade and their blueberry lavender lime aid.
