Had not stopped in to dine at Danielle's recently, so thought we would give it a try. The wife and I really enjoyed the food & service. The outdoor seating is really nice. We started with Danielle's flat bread. Delicious! Whoa! Lots of flavors. Then we had a dinner salad and the Amatriacana. The pasta was superb. A little spicy, but delicious. My wife and I took our daughter here for our wedding anniversary and unfortunately the service was some of the worst I've ever experienced. Our drinks took about 20 minutes to come out and 25 minutes after we ordered our food our waitress informed us there was a "computer malfunction" and our food order was never placed but they will rush it we were some how the only people this happened to.15-20 minutes after that our burger and pasta arrived but we had been there for over an hour at that point and anyone with a little one knows that's about all you have so we had to get everything boxed up. No manger came to speak with us all we got was sorry we might have dropped the ball on this one. We are a younger couple and not there Normal castle pines clientele but they should treat everyone the same. We popped in for a quick bite on a early evening on a Saturday, had the chicken wings with the dry rub and my partner had the spicy chicken sandwich. Without any doubt, I love everything about this restaurant. The atmosphere and setting are very nice and cute, and this is a great place for both lunch and dinner. Also this is a good spot just for some snacks and drinks as they have a variety of fantastic appetizers and great selections of local draft beer, wine and cocktails. I liked all foods I've tried so far, especially their Rock Shrimp and Stuffed Mushrooms, and I have to add that their Sea Bass is the bomb! I've lived in Tokyo and NY where the world's best foods are, but their Sea Bass is definitely the No.1 as it's got just the right amount of fat and cooked in a perfect way. This afternoon I went to the #4 best restaurant in Castle Pines, according to TripAdvisor, with some work associates. Danielle's Scratch Kitchen is independently owned and has been open for about three years in a small ritzy strip mall at the intersection of Santa Fe and Happy Canyon. Lunch was pretty late for us, so we were able to take advantage of the happy hour pricing that starts as early as 2 p.m. on most days. Their $6 cosmo was very tasty. Some of my associates had a $5, generously-poured, glass of white wine. We ordered some happy hour appetizers ($6-$8); the bruschetta was the most satisfying. I had the southwest burger, and it was really good. The burger patty is a combination of chuck, short rib, and brisket. It was topped with chipotle gouda, roasted jalapeno cream cheese, tomato salsa, and chipotle mayo. One of my associates had the southern fried chicken. It came with country bourbon gravy and french fries. I did not get to try it, but she said she really liked it, and she's from Tennessee...if that means anything, haha. Another coworker had the chefs' risotto of the day, which was made with bacon, chicken, broccoli, and sun-dried tomatoes. She really enjoyed it, as well. Have been wanting to eat here for a while as there aren't many places in Castle Rock I've liked. It's pricier than I thought with entrees ranging in the $21-$30 range. Located in a pretty strip mall between Castle Rock and Castle Pines with parallel parking alongside the restaurant and other parking at the ends of the strip mall. The ambience is upscale, classic and relaxed. We had the calamari appetizer which is hands down the best I've had in a long while. The calamari is lightly breaded by hand before being fried and is not greasy. Just the right amount of crunch and deliciously seasoned. Not chewy in texture and definitely a must have. It comes with sliced cherry peppers and a choice of lemon aioli or a marinara sauce. The lemon aioli was my choice of dip while his was the marinara sauce. I had the Scottish Salmon which comes on a bed of chef's risotto accompanied by a seasonal vegetable and a grilled lemon. The salmon was beautifully cooked and seasoned. The grilled lemon a nice touch to the rich flavor. Even though risotto isn't my choice for a side this one was tasty and had a nice robust texture which complimented the salmon. He had the rigatoni with sausage and meatball. This suited him well as he was starving and the homemade meatballs were huge. The sliced Italian sausage was a nice compliment to the meatballs and filled him up. He inhaled the dish and proclaimed it tasty. I would definitely come again but maybe for a special occasion as it's a little pricey for a regular meal. Celebrated our anniversary on a whim. They let us sit a little ways from other patrons became of that. Had calamari of course as it's divine. He had a burger and an ipa. The ipa was not great but my lemon drop was smooth and tasty. My first one ever and it didn't disappoint. I had the Chilean sea bass which just came in today, served on risotto with broccoli and a lemon. Yummy! My favorite place for Dinner in Castle Rock/ Castle Pines. Most entrees run between $25-30. My favorite has to be the Shrimp Pasta but Order anything you can't go wrong. Seriously, Anything. I enjoy the lemon drops from the bar. If you love Happy Hours. Then make sure you show up on Weekdays from 2-6. Service is impeccable. What a great gem in Castle Rock! They've got happy hour, 4-7pm every day! We had a smoky old fashion and a glass of Champagne from Lauren, our server. The drinks didn't disappoint .We've sat at the bar before with Lauren and Seth and they're both so friendly. Our dinner started with the chicken pesto flatbread, OMG! So good! The balsamic is the cherry on top. For dinner, we had the chicken parmigiana and the chicken Marsala. The Marsala was so good with the mushrooms and Marsala sauce that made the fingerling potatoes taste so good! The parm was delicious as well. We were a party of nine. We ordered drinks and appetizers, once served we had to find the manager to order our meals. We then waited almost one hour for our food, with our finished appetizer plates and empty drink glasses on the table. We then found the manager again. We finally got our food. A pasta dish was no longer warm, we sent it back, it returned with water in the bowl, the sauce was gone, it appeared to have been rinsed in hot water and not fully drained. The dining room is so beautiful. The plants that surround the back area and the patio were just so nice to look at. It is Castle Pines, isn't it ? Anyway, the service was quick, the food came out quick , and everything was delightful !!! I was there, coincidently, for happy hour, so I stayed with the happy hour menu. Musical Chair Establishment I work in the service industry and don't like writing reviews like this. But I also want people to be informed by reviews like this to know the service they are getting. We made a reservation online for my husband's birthday. We arrived and sat at a beautiful corner table. We ordered drinks and appetizers. Jared, our server was so kind and attentive. The incident came after the appetizers when they asked my family to physically get up, mid bite of our food and move tables. I was stunned? Drinks, used plates, kids and all we were forced to move to a different table. Why do you ask? Because they confused my reservation with someone else's party. Not any fault of our own. We complied out of complete embarrassment of them physically taking our food to a different table. After they found out it was my husband's birthday they tried to write the wrong by comping my husband's dessert. But a 13$ free dessert does not compensate for how embarrassed, degraded and undignified we felt due to their mistaken reservation. Why not sit the party of 7 somewhere else? Nope they chose to interrupt our birthday celebration and $200 dollar meal because someone else wanted a nice table for their reservation. Again, I work in the service industry but would NEVER interrupt someone's family meal to physically move their party to another table. Rudest and most embarrassing meal I've ever experienced especially when my family was celebrating a special occasion. We indeed did not feel special but degraded. Danielle's is definately above average in service and food quality. The atmosphere is fairly modern and cozy and the staff were nice and professional. On this visit we ordered the fried calamari appetizer which was fresh and flaky. I ordered the fried chicken since the menu said that was their most popular dish. My family ordered a club sandwhich and one of their flatiron dishes. All of the dishes had nice presentations and were good. The reason they didn't earn a 5 star rating was because although the food was good it was not $20 - $30 per plate good. Food at that price range should be either unique or significantly better than middle of the road chain restaurants. Danielle's menu and food didn't quite hit that value for the money mark for us. If their prices were in the $15 - $20 range per dish with their current menu it would be a top in class 5 star destination in our book. read more

We came her for my wife's birthday at the end of January - great atmosphere and good food, I think it is probably nice to come here in the summer or during the day when there is light outside because the patio and view should be nice however we still enjoyed the food and service very much. There are restaurants where you fall in love with a certain dish. At Danielle's, it's the southern fried chicken. It's their most popular for a reason. The bourbon gravy over it is AMAZING. The dinner version comes with mashed potatoes, which I vastly prefer over the fries, which come with the lunch version. I've gone back at least 5 times for this dish. The location is a little isolated in Castle Pines, but that's a plus because it's a more relaxing experience. The inside is modern-casual and open. In the summer there is nice big patio area. Prices are a couple dollars higher than I'd prefer, but you get what you pay for. In my experiences, the staff has been friendly and attentive. I love this hidden gem! read more

I went here on a Tuesday night with a group of girls from work and we had a very nice time. The location of this restaurant is great, near a bunch of little shops and restaurants giving it a warm feel. The inside of the restaurant is very inviting with a lot of large tables so it's nice for groups. We had a nice big round corner table so we could all talk to one another easily. Since it was a Tuesday, we had half-prices glasses of wine since we all ordered an entree which was a great deal. The appetizer we got was fresh burrata mozzarella which was quite tasty. For my entree I got the fresh Atlantic salmon which was delicious, moist, and flaky. The salmon came with cauliflower, zucchini, and carrots which were steamed and not the most flavorful. I would have preferred roasted vegetables for a bit more flavor. For dessert, where shared a variety of Italian puddings or "budinos" including chocolate and salted caramel all of which more than satisfied my huge sweet tooth! Overall they have a very diverse menu, from fancy mac and cheese, to shrimp scampi, to pot roast, to Chilean sea bass, you can bring a large group here and everyone will be able to find something on the menu that they like! read more

This place is located in Castle Pines Village. Super cute area and has a ton of potential. We came here on Sunday (brunch time). We had been anticipating dining here for a while since the reviews were so good. Slightly disappointed they do not serve breakfast since their top picture is of a stack of pancakes. Oh well. We ordered a few appetizers so we could try multiple items. My first order was a "bloody Mary" meh - watered down from the start as you can see from the picture. Some were good, others were not so good. The calimari, although cooked perfectly, had a very "fishy" taste to it. Which, what can you expect of seafood when you're landlocked. Just wonder how other restaurants get so fresh? That was a huge turnoff. The chicken wings were AMAZING, only slightly confusing when the menu gives you the option for "plain" and the server was trying to tell us we could only have either "spicy" or "buffalo". I had to point it out to Isabella that there was a "plain" option on the menu. The Burrata dish was presented beautifully; however, the cheese was super cold. Another turnoff. Perhaps heating the cheese a bit would elevate the dish and provide a smoother spread over the crostini. This could be a personal preference only and should not deter from someone who likes cold cheese. The Tuna Poke Sushi app was very delicious. Again, only a slight modification to the amount of rice under the poke. Also, a drizzle of soy sauce would have punched those flavors up a bit. Lastly, we were given the option for their dessert. Mmmmm apple crisp with vanilla ice cream. Sadly, the apple crisp had more sugar than apples. Plus one of the biggest mistakes...the skins were left on the apples making it extremely hard to chew. Two bites in and we left the rest. Not once did our server ask us if everything was ok with the dessert. I understand things don't always go right in back of house but this place seems to miss the mark when it comes to execution and service. Hope they punch it up for dinner service!
