This is a LONG overdue post, but a MUST read (Especially if you want to know why you NEED to give this place a try)! I don't think myself, my husband or our friends and family could rave about this restaurant, the food and the staff enough. We recently had our rehearsal dinner at Danielles, and from beginning to end, the experience was amazing! Vincent was wonderful with contacting us and going over all of the event menu options. He took the time to hear about our wedding, our budget and our hopes for our rehearsal dinner evening. He invited us in beforehand to try some of our menu options, and everything was absolutely delicious! It was clear that he cared not only about the food we ate, but the experience he gave us, beginning to end! Patrick, Vincent and all of the other stuff was truly so engaging and kind to everyone in our dinner party! They made sure that not just my husband and I were taken care of, but that everyone with us was happy! The appetizers and drinks came out quickly and there was PLENTY for everyone to enjoy! The entrees were large portions, and everyone was impressed with how fresh and delicious ALL of the options were! The staff set up such a beautiful space for us, helped us take photos, had patience throughout the whole process, and made it just a genuinely easy and fun experience for us! Came here last night with my boyfriend. Didn't have a reservation but they still sat us immediately on the outdoor patio. We got the calamari and crab cakes to start. SO GOOD. The sauces for both were so flavorful. Then I got the chicken Marsala and my boyfriend got linguine and clams. Now he's a super judge-y eater lol. But he loved his dish, finished it in 5 minutes! This is one of the very few places that is great for couples, business meals, and family dining. I have done all of the above on numerous occasions and the service never disappoints. We booked our girls dinner date here. Our server was simply amazing! However.... I made online reservations that the restaurant confirmed before hand. Upon arrival our table was not ready, we sat at the bar while we waited. At the bar we ordered a few martini's and then honestly fought for service for any other needs - the bar was not full, and neither was the restaurant. One of our girls has a sweet tooth and was inquiring about a drink to better suit her when we were told "I don't have time to go through all of the levels of sweet with you" by the bartender. Obviously we were not his priority and we were disappointed by the lack of accommodation. We were happy to get to our table and meet our server. Our server made a drink that made three of our women very happy! (The sassy Cassie) she called it. Our calamari was out of this world amazing! (If I had stopped there this would be a five star review) A few of us ordered the special (scallops with asparagus and risotto) - they were awful! Very salty and a strange after taste that indicated they were either going bad or were undercooked. A $30 special that I could barely stomach and left me feeling nauseous. (I love seafood and scallops so this is not one of those "I don't know what I'm getting myself into type of orders") my asparagus was chewy/hard and hard to swallow. We were having a great time regardless but one of ladies did bring it to our severs attention and she took the remainders back to the kitchen. We ordered a slice of carrot cake for dessert and they offered an additional free slice of carrot cake (for the table) to make up for the poor scallop dishes. We were still charged full price for each "special" As I said before our server was amazing, her name was Cassie ... but I am very disappointed in the quality of food and how we were handled at such an establishment. Went to this establishment after reading some reviews online. I made reservations for my annivesary dinner. When we arrived I told the gentleman I had reservations, he didnt look for the reservations just said we could wait since we were early or get a seat wherever. So, we got a table close to the bar. We had the calamari and the stuffed mushrooms. Both were great tasting and the marinara sauce was fresh and delicous. My husband had the fried chicken and I had the house special Danielles favorite chicken. Both entrees were decent portions but nothing to write home about as far as "knock me out" flavor for $20.00 per meal. The appetizers, desserts and the house craft drinks are what makes this place a great place to visit. All were unique and bursting with flavor!!! Across from Trestle lies a restaurant with a lot of potential. We were celebrating my sister in-law's birthday and had made reservations for dinner. We had to wait which kicked things off in a negative vein. It wasn't as if we were an abnormally large group or had any special requests. We were simply four people looking to have a good time and meal together. When we were seated, our server improved the situation as she was attentive and jumped right in with excellent enthusiasm. We ordered cocktails and burrata. The burrata was absolutely phenomenal. Creamy mozzarella, ricotta, and pesto with crispy grilled ciabatta. It spread across the top and composed a Mozart worthy symphony in your mouth. My entree, was Danielle's Favorite Chicken, which came with whipped potatoes, grilled asparagus and some spinach. Now, when you read lemon cream sauce on the menu, visualize a tender, butterflied chicken breast cooked in a sauce made of lemon heaven and you might come close to the flavor. This sauce was creamy, tangy, and absolutely accented the chicken in a way that nearly exceeds my capacity to describe. The whipped potatoes were so creamy and smooth that they nearly made me tear. The asparagus was grilled perfectly. We finished our meal with a spectacular creme brûlée which had crunchy, sugar toasted across the top with a unctuous custard beneath. It was so good and I was absolutely unable to take another bite by the time we left. There will be more visits, and more to come on this gem. read more

Had dinner with my family at Danielle's on New Years Eve. Was very happy with the entire experience. I used to work at this location when it was a different restaurant and was I blown away at the changes made to the interior. When I worked there, the restaurant had a lot of partitions and it didn't have an open feel like it does now. Loved the decor and the lighting was just right. Our server was terrific. She was courteous and very attentive. She got our drinks to us quickly and got us started with an appetizer as well. We order the fried calamari. Only one little drawback on the calamari is that it had a lot of fried jalapenos in the bowl along with the squid, so you need to pick through it to get what you want. For entrees, we had the shrimp scampi, New York strip, pot roast and my youngest had a child's spaghetti and meatballs. Portion size is great. Not too much, but definitely large enough to fill you up. My wife's shrimp scampi was not pure butter like some places. I hate that. It was very light and had almost a vegetable broth type of taste to the pasta, which was amazing. The shrimp were large and not overcooked. Great dish. I'm planning on trying it next time we eat there. My steak was great. With a NY strip, you get a little bit of fat on the side, and the very tip has a little gristle. I happen to like both, so I don't trim it off, I just eat it. It was nicely seasoned, not too much that I didn't taste the meat. It came with some nicely grilled asparagus and some really light and fluffy whipped potatoes. My older daughter got the pot roast. Now, it was only about 6:30pm, and the server had to verify that there was any left. This right away got me thinking this was going to be good pot roast. The server came back and said she was getting the last serving of it. Great luck! It was absolutely amazing. The meat is super tender and juicy, the sauce was flavorful, and the mushrooms were so tasty. It came with mashed potatoes, so a little more texture, which was perfect for that dish. Some glazed carrots rounded out the dish and they were cooked perfectly, not mushy, a little firmness to them. My little one's spaghetti and meatballs were excellent as well. I really liked the marinara sauce, the pasta was cooked just right and the meatballs were moist and had a great seasoning and flavor to them. Again, the server was on the spot, constantly filling drinks and checking on us. And it was starting to get busy as well. So we finished off this great meal with two desserts; the Italian chocolate mousse, which was a nice thick helping of creamy mousse, with a dollop of caramel on the top, and the brownie topped with vanilla ice cream. Both were absolutely excellent. I can't wait to go back to Danielle's for more, and would definitely encourage people to come and try, even if you're a little bit away, It's well worth it. read more

My kids took me here for Mother's Day lunch on Saturday because the weather was better for outdoor seating. The appetizers were very good. Calamari and the Brie. No one liked their entrees. 3 had the Clams and Linguine. The clams were good but no sauce on the pasta. They all said it was too dry. One had a spicy chicken sandwich which was not spicy but bland. My husband had Chicken Marsala he ate half of. Too bland. I had the duck salad and the duck was delicious but the greens were so overdressed you couldn't taste them. I found out after the fact that my friend had the same experience. Great outdoor patio. We were all just happy to be together. I would go back for appetizers. read more

After reading all the reviews we decided to try it last night. Our service was great, but the food was okay at best. My wife and kid were craving Italian so they both ordered spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were good but the sauce was pretty bad. Any chain restaurants spaghetti sauce is better than this. I ordered their NY strip and that was delicious- cooked to order with good seasoning. The mashed potatoes and asparagus were on point. We also ordered the skillet brownie for dessert and that was ok also- the brownie was pretty dry. Based on all the good reviews we drove a few extra miles to try them, and honestly we probably wont go there again. Although the service was great, the food wasn't (defeats the purpose of eating out). For it to be an Italian restaurant they are really slacking on the basic spaghetti and meatball dish. read more

I had heard a lot of things about Danielle's in Castle Pines, and we finally got to enjoy a meal there tonight. Danielle's is a very nice local restaurant in a great location - an idyllic setting in the forest off Happy Canyon and Highway 85 near Castle Rock. For most it is off the beaten path, but I am pleased to report that it is certainly worth the drive. The restaurant is open and spacious with lots of large windows, and the large patio under the canopy of pine trees is certainly picturesque. It was raining when we visited, so the patio was out of the question for us, but we had our choice of the bar/lounge, or table seating. There is a large community table - probably seats up to 18 people fairly comfortably - in the middle of the restaurant. We chose the lounge area, which was also very comfortable. There is an expansive bar with a very impressive menu. There are lots of bar seats, and a handful of smaller lounge tables. There are two large TV's with sports, but they do not take over the restaurant. You can sit almost anywhere and block them out (this is not a sports bar, but I would say a very nice place to watch some golf or football). The tables in the restaurant are well spaced, so I would imagine that you can have a nice, private dining experience even when the restaurant is busy (we visited late on a Tuesday, so we had our pick of tables). The menu is diverse - plenty of pasta, seafood, meat, and vegetarian options. There is a good assortment of appetizers, but we chose one of the flatbreads, which was delicious. If it were just me I could easily make a meal out of one. I had heard about the Southern Fried Chicken, and it did not disappoint - perhaps the best I've had. The chicken was cooked to perfection, and the preparation was lightly fried, over asparagus and mashed potatoes. Absolutely delicious, and unlike a lot of fried chicken I've had, I didn't feel like I ate too much when I was done. The service was attentive. Cassie was our waitress - she knew a lot about the menu, and she was able to provide excellent recommendations on both food and wine (plenty of good choices by the glass available, which is very nice). I'd say that Danielle's is on the higher end price-wise, but the food is very good and is made from scratch, which is worth more in my book. The location is truly unique - a drive for almost anyone, but a destination nonetheless. I would really like to return on a nice afternoon and enjoy a happy hour on the patio, which overlooks the forest. It is hard to compare Danielle's location, menu, and vibe to anything else in the metro area, and that should be reason enough to give it a try. I know we'll be back! read more

Can't speak to the food. We were given a table outside and no one even provided water or service for 20 minutes. Then, we asked to move inside because of a storm. After another 10 minutes, the bartender strolled over to tell us that a waitress would eventually get to us. I said we had been waiting for almost 30 minutes. You wouldn't think this would be a great place to take your kids but they have plenty options available, and my kids seem to really like everything they've ever tried here. We went last night, for the 1st time. The food was a little better than average and the atmosphere was good, not noisy and very similar to The Redlands/Alexander's - but higher in price. Our issue, and sole reason for this rating has to do with how we were treated, exclusively by the owner. Short version, we ordered appetizers and dinner, about 20 minutes after placing our dinner order our waiter came out and said, 'one of our chef's cut his finger while cooking, and we're starting those dinners over, I'm sorry for the delay, is there anything I can bring you?' We said, NP, we understand, but I requested a small piece of bread to enjoy the last of the marinara sauce from the mushrooms (which were very good). 10 minutes later the bread arrived. And 10-15 min dinner showed up. The waiter then said, 'I know you said you didn't want asparagus, but the chef missed it, I'll bring the cauliflower that you ordered out shortly.' 5 min and they show up. We finishEd dinner, get the check - and this is where it gets 'low' IMHO. In reviewing the check, I see that I was charged for both the bread, and the cauliflower. It isn't the $6.00 charge, it's the principle and nothing else. So we square up, and leave. I go get the car, because my wife is recovering from hip replacement surgery, and can't walk that far just yet. While she was waiting one of the waitresses asked how was everything? My wife said we're we're disappointed, and explained. she didn't ask for anything in return at all. The waitress agreed with her, and got the owner. My wife said something to the effect of I know your busy, explained what happened and gave her our phone so he could call when it was convenient for 'him.' The guy gets 'sideways' with her and says, "I'll never call you back." Needless to say, we'll never go back, and can't recommend this place on 'principles' alone. read more

Although we live just up the road from Danielle's in Castle Pines, we finally got around to giving it a try. This site has been home to at least two previous restaurants; one of them being Rodney's, which was average at best. Don't remember what the name or cuisine of the other; nevertheless, neither was memorable. Danielle's, however, is absolutely amazing! I've had sea bass in such cities as Sydney, AU, NYC, Seattle and Singapore and I can honestly say that the preparation of this fish has never been so expertly prepared as it was tonight at Danielle's. My wife had the seafood Mac and Cheese and, it too, was fabulous! This was our first visit, but plan to do so again in the very near future. It's great to have such an awesome restaurant that doesn't require driving to DT Denver or Cherry Creek. If you haven't been there, give it a try; we're sure you'll love it! read more

We were new customers at Danielle's this evening. It was some of THE ABSOLUTE WORST service we've ever received. Our Server was very neglectful to say the least. If it weren't for the young man bussing tables I'm not sure we would ever have had any drinks. Our food took 40 minutes to arrive. I asked for med-well, I got med-rare meat. The Manager was not sincere in his apology, making us feel as if we'd done something wrong. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to even my WORST ENEMY. read more

We had the WORST customer service experience on May 12th at this restaurant. 8 days prior we made reservations for 8 people at 1:45. We noted when we made the reservation it would be our first visit. 2 days before our reservation the restaurant called us and asked if we could come in earlier at 9:00 or 9:30 am instead (?!?) I said if they needed us earlier we could come in at noon, but not 9am as we wanted lunch. The lady own the phone told me noon wouldn't work as it was "their busiest time" and that 1:45 would be "just fine". We arrived exactly on time and had to wait 10 minutes while they set our table. Our waitress informed us we had 5 more minutes until happy hour ended and we placed our order for appetizers and drinks. The wait staff was very hurried throughout our entire meal, pushing us to order, sweeping around our table, and bringing the food out extremely quickly. After the entree's we tried to order dessert and were told the kitchen was "closed" (it wasn't even 2:30 yet) and wouldn't re-open until 4:00pm. We couldn't order anything else, including drinks, and by the way, here is your check. Before paying, the 8 of us stepped outside on their veranda to take a family photo, and watched as the waitstaff cleared away all of the drinks on our table, including my mother in law's FULL Cosmopolitan and 4 cups of milk the children weren't finished with yet. The food was OK, but here's the thing: We are not in any shortage of wonderful places to dine at in this area. Why not tell us the 2 times they communicated with us before our reservation that the kitchen closes at 2:00? Why wouldn't our waitress tell us when we sat down? We had a reservation and weren't a walk-in. We dine out frequently, live in the area, and spend money on these experiences. We would never go back to this place as there are so many other wonderful restaurants that wouldn't make us feel like a bother just for showing up. read more

2nd time we have been here and both times have been very good. From the host to the server to the food all aspects have been above par. I had the double pork chop and my wife had the chicken marsala. Both were excellent! The Fig and arugula salad was very good. My only complaint would be that we both had margaritas that were very watered down. I like to support the local businesses and it was good to see that there were people waiting to be served while we were leaving. read more

Let me start by saying that there are things I LOVE about this place. The service is always friendly, which counts for a lot. I love the dry rub wings. The dressings are very average. My husband ordered the fried chicken, which was underseasoned, and short on gravy. It also was priced at 20 something dollars, when Castle Cafe sells a similar product for $14. Granted at Danielles we are partly paying for the ambiance. We don't mind paying high prices for food when the value is there, but there is a disconnect here. Gorgeous setting, great atmosphere- and best of all... natural fresh delicious food made the order!!! Imagine being just miles from castle rock and feeling like your in a mountain town- relaxing castle pines neighborhood surrounded by trees and fresh air- as for the food- it's outstanding! I had the fig salad with chicken on the side and- it was a treat! Yes... the salad was a treat- fresh, flavorful and I can't say enough about how the chicken was cooked- perfect! My husband had the southern fried chicken it was out of this world- sitting in a bed of fries with homemade gravy! Everything we saw looked amazing- huge burgers, awesome tacos , calamari was fresh and delicious and I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!
