First time here and with some excitement for this restaurant. I ordered the Wild Salmon Entree and my son ordered the chicken nuggets and fries. We also ordered the stuffed mushroom caps as an appetizer. The food was inedible. The stuffed mushrooms were cold and chewy. Meanwhile, the salmon was lukewarm when it was finally served (over thirty mins after ordering) and so overcooked it tasted like cardboard. The presentation of the dish was sloppy and even included some marinara sauce accidentally (?) splashed onto the side but it was covered by very dry and lukewarm fingerling potatoes. My son's dish was also cold and inedible. The chicken nuggets were surprisingly chewy, dry and spicy. The fries, meanwhile, were soggy and greasy. I would have tried to remedy the situation with the waiter but he rarely came by the table; he did stop by 30 mins after the dishes were served to ask if we needed anything else. I asked for buttered pasta for My son since he could not eat the chicken. It was another 30 mins before the pasta arrived and, you guessed it, cold and lethargic. We asked for dessert just to wrap up. That was also a mistake as the ice cream did not come out for 25 mins and it was soft and already melting by the time it arrived. Finally, I asked for the check which took 15 minutes to arrive. The waiter did not come back for another 15 mins to retrieve the bill and my payment. We were there 2.5 hours, all of which was spent waiting for service, hoping the food would magically taste better and wishing we were someplace else. Went there for the first time last night. We had reservations. I have to say it really didn't meet our expectations. Food was very expensive and it was average in taste and presentation. Service was ok not exceptional. It was nice to go with friends and try a new place. They said they would go back. I probably won't. read more

Wow wow wow, the food here is so good! We had Fried calamari for an appetizer. I had a good morning burger and then we also ordered the French toast. Everything we ate was delicious and probably one of the best restaurants we've ever been to. This place!!! Oh my gosh... so amazing!! A hidden gem! We went last night with our son and his wife. The service was exceptional, the food was phenomenal! For drinks we had smoked old fashions and a couple glasses of Sauvignon Blanc. Had the baked Brie for our appetizer. Next we had the Romaine Wedge. For our mains, we had Danielle's chicken (omg to die for!), chicken parm, Amatriciana (with gluten free pasta - which was great!), and chicken Gorgonzola. We shared everything and every bite was better than the last!!! Oh - and do not skip dessert! We had the skillet Brownie and crème brûlée (brownie was all of our favorite!) will be back again, and again!!! Such a great place! read more

We've tried Danielle's Scratch Kitchen twice now. I want to give them five stars but their price point versus serving size is what keeps stopping me. Last summer was our first visit. Seven of us all enjoyed our meals. We tried a little bit of everything, had top notch service and talked about the visit for a while. Only one leftover box went home that night. Fast forward to date night with my husband this winter where we ate every single bite wishing we had more. With one pop and one water, our bill was $75 with a reasonable tip. No alcohol, appetizer or dessert. Two pasta entrees. Service was good. Nothing memorable like the first visit, but we weren't left to rot in a corner so I appreciated that fact. Maybe serve some bread to help soak up the delicious sauces? I don't know, but a couple tweaks to add some perceived value and this could be a regular stop. read more

Our new favorite restaurant in the Castle Rock / Castle Pines area for a nice date night! We came after the Starlighting celebration in Castle Rock with our grown kids and everyone enjoyed it. Comfortable and classy. Delicious meals with homemade pastas, chicken piccata, and chicken parmigiana. Also some more casual options like gourmet burgers and fried chicken. Several beautiful looking seafood dishes were delivered to tables nearby. Everything from the main dishes to the sides and vegetables were well-portioned and fresh. Lovely service as well. I will be coming back with my husband for a nice meal, or coming out with some friends for an evening out, or meeting family. The chairs were very comfortable. Prices were fair, too. I have eaten lunch at Danielle's several times, and each time I had the same impression -- food good, service good, ambiance nice . . . but I just didn't feel like I got my money's worth out of the meal. I find the place a bit pricy, in other words. I just didn't come away feeling like I got $X worth of food / experience. It's a quality place and I recommend you try it. The decor is attractive and the service is friendly and helpful. I'd like to try Danielle's for dinner sometime to see what those meals are like. Fantastic meal! Loved the ambiance, food and service. We dined in for a late lunch after having our nails done nearby in the same shopping center and enjoyed the burrata and HH drink specials. After 2p there is a $4 discount on apps and drink specials after 3p. Great wine list too! The burrata was by far one of my favorite dishes! A must order! We also enjoyed their salads with salmon. Crisp, fresh and perfectly dressed. The amazing salmon was cooked medium and delicious! We plan to come back to explore more of the menu for a double date. Check out the patio area too! So beautiful! Family came here on our way from Denver to Colorado Springs! We just had a handful of apps, drinks, and shared dessert! Most importantly the smoked Old Fashioned Cocktail was amazing! They used Eagle Rare bourbon folks. IYKYK! My friends and I make OF'd at home and so I asked the bartender to show me how he made it. Pretty cool to be able to watch the process!! The bar was ! Food, calamari and crispy coconut shrimp were fine, nothing special. Veggie flat bread was amazing! Salad, very good. Apple crumble cheesecake with whipped cream was magnificent! So good! If you're looking for authentic Italian food that is made to perfection, look no further. They make all of the pasta (minus penne), and sauces from scratch! Stretch their own mozzarella as well! The food was fresh and flavorful. We had the Chicken Gorgonzola which was so delicious! Make sure you add a chicken breast. It was my first time here and if I had the option to give 3.5 stars I would have. If you're looking for fairly priced homemade Italian food I'd recommend this. Overall the food was good and you could tell it was made from scratch. It has a pleasant atmosphere for dinner. The only issues I have with it is that it took almost 30 minutes to come out. Along with our server Vanessa being non existent for most of our service and not being very pleasant. I don't like to mention names but I wouldn't want someone else to suffer the same fate that we did. All the flavors made me think that this could be how my food would taste if I ever figured out how to grow and use an herb garden. Lol Chicken Marsala had very rich almost caramelized flavors. Came here for a work lunch this week, and I was glad we chose this restaurant. The decor was very pretty, and the service was great. I had Danielle's Chicken: lemon butter sauce, sautéed spinach, potatoes, and green beans. The chicken was moist, potatoes perfectly seasoned, and the green beans cooked to prefection. I requested pasta instead of potatoes- that wasn't possible even tho it's an "Italian" restaurant so I was offered risotto. It was white rice with scallions. Flavorless as well. My friend who we went with also got "risotto" with her over-cooked halibut. It too was just over-cooked rice of which she requested salt for. My husband got the pork osso bucco. He was satisfied with that. We waited a long time for our food. Not sure if it's because of his pork that all the rest of us had over-cooked protein, but I would not recommend this restaurant. NOM NOM NOM! They may have THE BEST crab cake egg benedict I've ever had! Albeit we'd just got done with a hike and were rather ravenous, the blend of flavors and consistency was pure perfection! The crispness of the crab cake batter was light, crunchy, and soooo tasty! The crab meat was amazing, and the hollandaise sauce was AMAZING! I usually don't care for much hollandaise because it can be too thick, creamy, and overbearing, but the chef here at Danielle's Scratch Kitchen perfected it! I swirled my English muffin in it and was in heaven, haha. My friend loved her veggie frittata and we both shared some amazingly fresh French toast (had to satisfy the sweet tooth!). The breakfast potato accompaniment was dusted with Parmesan cheese that gave them a nice, unique flavor. Not to mention, they were cooked PERFECTLY! Crisp on the outside and just the right amount of softness in the inside. The only 2 reasons it didn't get 5 stars are 1) their meat selection is super limited - only pork products. So if you try for a little healthier meat option and avoid pork or red meats, you might be let down. And 2) the French toast was just a little too dry and firm. It still tasted good though! Oh!!!
