Very enjoyable dinner eating outdoors at Daniel's last night. Staff was extremely accommodating. It started when parking lot was full & owner saw me drop off my wife. She told her to call me that someone was leaving. They provided us with complimentary soup & bruschetta. We started with a shared appetizer of Spicy Duck Meatballs. My wife had the Grilled Veal Chop & I had a Pork Chop Special. Both meals were excellent. When the check was brought again we were provided with a taste of complimentary brownie bites in I think a raspberry sauce. Finally this is a BYOB so bring a good bottle of wine to enjoy with your dinner. I highly recommend!!! read more

Daniel's Bistro is PPB's hidden gem. From a culinary perspective, Chef Danny's food rivals that of the very best restaurants in the entire tristate area. A revolving stream of wait staff can occasionally leave a little to be desired on the service front, but the incredible hospitality displayed by Karen (Chef Danny's wife, FOH manager and co-owner) more than makes up for it. You can't go wrong with any of the appetizers. The oyster special, the wild mushrooms, the crab cake, the duck meatballs, the foie gras, the escargot, the French onion soup -- it's all impeccably seasoned and cooked to perfection. The entrees are even better than the appetizers. Myself? I'm a pork special or cowboy ribeye type of guy at Daniel's. But the scallops are always amazing, and the halibut special is fantastic too. All you have to do is sit back, relax, and let Karen and Chef Danny take you on a culinary journey you won't soon forget. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try if you haven't already. Such a lovely experience. We dined. Usually, one eats out. We dined. In spite of the rain, the patio seating was charming. The chef/owner made everyone feel special & welcome. The waiter was attentive & jovial. The amuse bouche (tomato soup & toast bruschetta) just the right size & delicious. We were six. We shared appetizers (I had mushrooms in a cream sauce; others, soups & seafood plates) and the mist perfect dinner rolls. These were so good that we asked for seconds even though the appetizers & rolls could have been a full meal. Osso buco, steak, fish of several kinds...one dish better than the next. Two desserts ... though the tiramisu could have served us all ... followed by a dense chocolate cake sample (amuse bouche deux). Pricey? Yes. But delightful, memorable, perfect from start to finish. Me and my fiancé went here for Valentine's Day, we were so amazed by just the complimentary soup and bruschetta once we got our appetizer of French onion soup and the braised escargot we were in for another surprise. The flavors of the braised escargot were so immaculate I found myself using the bread to grab the juices. As for the French onion soup the broth was so savory and palatable, with the perfect selection of the creamy cheese. For our main dishes we got the Arctic char and the filet mignon. I'm not one to eat red meat but the sauce that was paired with the filet mignon was the perfect compliment and it was perfectly cooked, the Arctic char was delicious and perfectly cooked. It was byob so we were able to pair the dinner with our favorite drinks. Worth every single penny ! Definitely coming back for more. read more

Dinner for 6 about 2 years since we last ate there. Food is still excellent and the dining atmosphere is relaxed. Service was a bit off - they didn't seem to have their cadence down. Our server and the whole staff were pleasant and eager to make us happy, but things like not all the desserts coming out together or having to ask for water refills made it seem like either the staff is new or something was just a bit off. Emphatically one of the best BYOs on the Jersey Shore. 4 1/2 stars actually. It's one of those small, stylish bistros that has a menu in which you want to order everything! Wonderful food, expertly prepared. Outstanding stuffed pork chop and white bass....and for me the real knockout was the braised escargots: the sauce was obscenely delicious. You have to order! Ambiance is cozy, tables are set very elegantly and service is generally on par. Why not 5 stars? It was a bit loud, as there was a large gathering; a party group of 15-20 people next to us and although everyone was very nice it detracted from the intimate and cozy but elegant experience this place can should have provided and we had anticipated. read more

First time at this restaurant and LAST time. My girl friend and I arrived on time for our resv. Prices were pretty steep, but ambiance was palatable... nothing to write home about. I ordered two appetizers and my friend ordered one dinner entree. They cam out in 10 mins before we had a sip of water. We were interrupted by wait staff more than 4 times in less than 20 mins wondering if we were finished and trying to take plates. We asked manager to have wait staff give us a little room and time not to feel hurried & rushed. This was met with an eye roll and persnickety facial expressions. This isn't just a great restaurant, it's a great experience. We dined with two other couples and we all loved our meals. My friend and I shared the seafood salad which was fresh, light and delicious. Other appetizers at the table were the oyster special, lamb meatballs, French onion soup and the Caesar salad, all were raved about. The dinners we had were equally spectacular. The duck was cooked perfectly, the scallops, halibut special, shrimp dinner and pork special were fabulous. We topped off our evening with desserts prepared table side by our waiter. Our waiter Joe was not only on point all evening but he instantly became a friend to the table. The new owner, Bass definitely cares about his guests as well as his staff which was visible through the evening and refreshing to experience. This is our first time here and we live in town and always wanted to try this restaurant. First impression was very expensive but I guess the food should be good if priced that high. Although one of the specials was a tomahawk cowboy ribeye and I asked how much and they said $76 I thought that was a little amusing and certainly didn't order that from a local shore town restaurant. My wife ordered the osso bucco which was actually tough and very salty. Returned it. Before that we ordered the seafood salad which stated calamari ,shrimps and scungilli. It only had calamari and some celery. Returned it. We spoke to the waitress and she said I'll take it off the bill. She didn't really care. I had the pork chop that was very small and rare when I asked for medium. Felt two complaints in one night was enough. The attitude in the restaurant was no F's given. It's a shame. read more

One of my first times back at a restaurant after quarantine and was really impressed with my meal here. Firstly, they do a great job with the outdoor dining. Good tent set up, that was a life saver when it started raining later in the night. As for the food, We split the crab cakes and burrata to start. The crab cakes were awesome- portion was a bit small but really delicious and with seemingly no "filler". Burrata was good, albeit nothing exceptional. For my main I went with the pork chop special. Reading the yelp reviews it seems like this is a special pretty often. It's a pork chop filled with procuittio spinach and cheese. Lightly fried and served on the bone in a mushroom sauce. It's amazing- I was torn between this and the veal chop and am confident I made the right choice. Others at the table had the steak, halibut special and scallops. Everyone loved their meals. Just had an annoying dinner there. The place was empty, but we had to sit near the door because "every table was reserved." Really? Still pretty empty when we left. We ordered onion soup that was so salty, we sent it back, which we rarely do. The waitress had such an attitude that it was difficult to speak to her, as if we were waaay beneath her. Entree was passable, although I couldn't find the fontina cheese that was supposed to be stuffed in my chop. Very disappointing, and we won't be going back. read more

We were here four years ago in the heat of the summer and it was not a pleasant experience due to the fact that the air conditioning was not working properly and since the dining tables were sardine-packed, it was difficult to have a decent conversation. The food was excellent. That was then. Fast forward to the present: there are no summer crowds, no need for AC, yet I must say the noise is something to be desired. Almost unbearably uncomfortable. The acoustics must me improved. But let's go to positives. Deena, our server, was very capable and paced her rehearsed speech quite well. A trainee accompanied her. I must add the bus, Matt, was probably the best of all three. He Just happened to always be there .Just my observation. Karen, the owner, came over toward the end of the meal to schmooze with us like any concerned proprietor would do with their diners. The food is top-shelf. The food is excellent, period. Yet quite expensive and the portions are small. I'm not going into detail what everyone had cuz I usually do that. The Arctic Char $29 was the cheapest for the entrees. Their "pera" Salad was primo and so was the Zuppa di clams. Twice, courtesy of the chef samplers were presented to us gratis. Overall, it's fine dining in Point Pleasant Beach. You know what drives me up a wall? When a waitperson asks you, "Are you still working on that?" Do they think I have a hammer and chisel? A saw? They really need to ban that vile expression from the culinary lexicon. You most certainly will not hear that at Daniels. In fact the entire staff is well schooled in how to serve effectively and courteously as witnessed last night. 4 of us were fairly demanding and each request was promptly addressed. Complimentary soup and bruschetta were given to start things off; very nice touch. My wife and I split a spinach salad and an order of escargot. The salad was perfect and extra bread was cheerfully provided to sop up the savory garlic broth; table manners notwithstanding. I ordered the sea scallops with asparagus and risotto topped with lump crabmeat. This was exquisite. The risotto was done perfectly and the scallops were completely fresh and moist. Wow! Being stuffed we had no room for dessert yet the waitstaff gave us complimentary brownies in raspberry sauce. These too were great. It was loud in there when the dining room filled up but that was probably a result of a table of 10 guys partying. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for quality food and service but do it in the off season if you can. Expect to pay $50 and up PP. read more

Had a wonderful meal here with family over the holidays. We had tried to get in here for restaurant week but alas, if you didn't reserve a week in advance you were out of luck. Now I know why! DB is a small, cozy place with maybe 15 tables & was decorated very nicely for the holidays. We were there early so there was not much of a crowd. By the time we left, that would change. Our waitress offered the four of us complimentary bruschetta & a small (demitasse type) cup of soup which were both delicious. Two types of bread were served & it was warm & very fresh. For dinner hubby & I decided to share the spinach salad with cremini mushrooms, egg, bacon, tomato, pignoli nuts & cheese shavings. Very good. I decided to order change it up a bit (I'm a seafood gal) & order the black angus filet mignon. The filet was served in an au poivre sauce with chanterelle mushrooms. What I received was one of the best cuts of meat I have had in a long time, & cooked to perfection! Portions are not gigantic however by the time we had finished everything we had we were stuffed. Regardless our waitress came out with 4 bite sized samples of brownies in a raspberry sauce that were happy to sample. I had a wonderful experience here & look forward to returning. The place is usually very busy and we learned it was for good reason... the food from start to finish was very good Complimentary Tomato Basil (Mini) soup and a Bruschetta started the meal. We orders the mussel app & the Ahi tuna tower - both were very good Main entree's were the Berkshire Pork special and the Gulf Shrimp. Both were cooked to perfection. A few comments, be prepared to place the entire order ( for purposes of timing the food out of the kitchen from app to entre, they won't take just an app order no matter how hungry you are !!! It's a BYOB - as 1st timers we didn't know & felt got that "you should have known" type of look from the waitress as she pulled the wine glasses away Food related, everything was spot on until we tried to pay... took a while for the waitress to come around so we could ask for the check, then a while to get the check and longer to take the card to have it returned - all told, it took about 1/2 hour from the time we asked for the check to the time I got my credit card back Enjoy read more

i've been coming to PPT for 20+ years. This is hands down the best restaurant in the area. The food is well prepared and really flavorful. It's hard to do everything well on the menu, but they mange to do it. Great place for friends and a date. It's loud, but fun! This is a tough one to write. The food was excellent. However, the experience became a marathon. Our 5:45 reservation ended with an exit at 10 after 8. We were seated promptly upon arrival. We got there about 5 minutes before our reservation and made it to our table pretty much exactly on time for our reservation. We got our menus immediately, our wine was uncorked and poured, it started off swimmingly. Our server went over the specials then returned to take our orders after a short time. She explained upon taking our orders that they preferred to take the entire order, (apps and mains) together to ensure a proper pacing--no problem, we were ready to go. Queue order--only then were we told that they were out of barramundi for the evening. Could have been mentioned along with the specials, but we'll let that slide. We ordered apps, and mains and we were set. First came a tasty, complimentary tasting of a tomato bisque. A nice surprise. The apps arrived after a brief, reasonable wait. Pretty tasty too. Delicious mussels special in a tasty light tomato broth. Light, very tasty crab cakes. A standard Caesar, and a mozzarella with tomato. It would have been nice had they offered us some fresh pepper like they seemed to offer the other diners, but that wasn't the case. Not a huge deal, but it would have been a nice touch. If you're wondering why we simply didn't ask for some, it's because nobody came to check on our situation for 10+ minutes. By then we were done. Our apps were cleared, and we were excited for our mains, as thus far the food was exceptional. At 6:10 we were excited. At 6:35 growing a bit impatient. At 6:40 the mains arrived. Again, the food was sensational. My duck breast was cooked perfectly. The halibut (ordered in lieu of barramundi) was polished off, as were the scallops and ribeye special. We were offered pepper for our mains, lol, which declined by all (go figure). The consensus was that the food was worth the wait. Food was cleared at about 7, followed by a quick order of dessert. 1 order of bananas foster, and an espresso. That arrived impressively quick, as it was freshly prepared tableside. That was judged to be delicious as well. We asked for a check at 7:30. They did not bring it until after 8. It was inexcusable. We asked several times, only to receive a series of lame excuses. The worst part was when they placed it on our table at 7:50, followed by an immediate "snatch-up" only to bring it to the correct table. That check wasn't ours... It arrived with complimentary brownie bites. My mood was soured at that point, so I refused to taste them. At least our credit card was run promptly. 4 1/2 star food. 2 star service, as a meal simply can't last for nearly 2 1/2 hours, with 30 minutes constituting waiting for the check to arrive. I went to Daniel's New Years Eve and had a wonderful dinner. They were very helpful with managing the reservations. We were seated right away upon our arrival. The dining room is modern with homey decor. For our appetizers, we started with the crab cakes and escargot at the recommendation of our server. The crab cakes were excellent. Small but almost all crab meat. It's been years since I had escargot but really loved it. The garlic and butter were so decadent that we couldn't get enough! Luckily they offered extra rolls for dipping. For the main course I got the pork chop. The meat was tenderized down to a thin later and still on the bone. It actually took up the whole plate. I never saw a pork chop flattened liked that before! The chop was breaded and came with peas, mushrooms, and topped with a brown gravy. It was the type of meal that was comforting to the soul like a home cooked meal. My fiancée tasted it and said "it tastes like a campfire smells." Perfect for a cold winter night! Overall I would recommend Daniel's for those looking for a modern fine dining experience in the shore area. I was really looking forward to my dinner at Daniel's Bistro for my birthday as I heard great things. For appetizer, we had the tuna tartare and seafood salad both were very good. The complementary bruschetta with soup was a very nice touch and delicious. The wait between our appetizers and main entrées was quite long about 45 minutes. My husband got the stuffed pork chop and I got the halibut. The halibut was very small for $47 and the stuffed pork chop was barely stuffed . For dessert, we had the berries flambé which was okay. We did not valet, however around 9:15 the valet guy came inside and started handing out keys to customers since he was leaving. I never saw that done anywhere else. Usually valet parks and then get your car at the end of the night. Unfortunately,Daniel's Bistro did not live up to my expectations. I know it is a shore restaurant and prices are higher, but I thought the prices were very high, considering the portion size. Wait staff was very nice. read more

Deliciousness We had an excellent meal here last night during NJ Shore Restaurant Week. The price fuze menu was to die for. We began our meal with an amuse bouche of tomato basil soup with bruschetta. We ordered the mussels - hot - followed by scallops with lump crab meat risotto and pork costaletto. What a wonderful restaurant. Second time coming here. We had Forrest as our waiter. He knew the menu front to back. Made excellent recommendations. The shrimp cocktail was incredible along with the mussels special of the night. I had a the halibut day boat special which was recommended. So awesome and my husband had the strip steak which was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Another major plus is it's BYOB. They also serve a complimentary mini appetizer - little tomato soup with a piece of bruschetta. What a nice thing to do and it really goes a long way. I dined here on Sunday with my mom, and we both found the food to be very good! The only problem is we felt the portions were too small. We ordered the burrata and crab cake appetizer. The crab cake was very good and mostly all crab. The burrata we were disappointed with because we were only served a sliver. When we order burrata at other restaurants they usually serve a nice piece. This was just one fourth of a piece what the average restaurant would serve. For entrees we ordered the strip steak and the veal Osso buco. The veal fell off the bone and was excellent! The strip steak was good, but it only came with a tablespoon of mash potatoes and spinach. I also noticed other people getting salad appetizers that were extremely small and seafood dishes being served with only 2 pieces of asparagus and a very small amount of risotto. I was still starving after my meal because the entrees aren't accompanied with enough vegetables or carbs. When I dine out I like to be well fed. There are too many other good restaurants out there that serve nice portions. For dessert we ordered the ricotta cheesecake and the chocolate flourless cake. Those were both a nice portion. The ricotta cheesecake was outstanding, and the chocolate flourless cake was good! We would love to come back because the food was very good, but not sure if we would due to the small portions. If I did come back I know for next time is to order side dishes along with my entree to fill my tummy. I have to give this a 5 star...... This is one of the better places in Ocean County. I do not give out 5 star all that often. I did with this place. The food was delicious. All four of us enjoyed the time we had together at this establishment. It is rather small place with a very well done interior. Another nice part I like, it is a BYOB. You choose your wine at the price you want to pay. During the summer season.... you may need reservations weeks in advance. It is well worth it. Don't come to town and miss out on this experience. I really liked this place, the olives and the bread were good besides the atmosphere feeling cramped. Maybe its the color of the walls. If it was summer, I would totally rather be outside I do not know how the summer is here, but I was totally the youngest person in the room by 35 years Hey what can I say, if you have BYOB I don't care if I sit in the bathroom The steak was good, the dressing on the caesar salad was perfect. the dessert were amazing, I guess they get them from some place in Newark, (which is better you cant be great at it all) I had the pork chop, cause it was on the restaurant week, it was big and good, I would not get it again due to I do not like the smoky bacon flavor overpowering the whole bite but my husbands steak was amazing I would only go back to sit outside read more
