The first visit- this place was a straight 5 stars. Excellent service, food reasonably priced and very tasty. Came back a second time tonight- Friday at 7pm- and they are out of ribs. What?!?!?!? A BBQ place out of ribs at Friday dinner time????? I would understand 9pm or something but prime dinnertime??? Unheard of! They apologized but man I was really wanting their ribs. Off to Rudy's I guess although I did get some Mac and cheese to go lol Still sad. Their ribs are damn good. Guess I'll call next time before driving all the way up here first. Had low expectations considering the place was empty, but brisket was tender with a simple salt/pepper rub of some type. Rib, the same, tender but not over cooked and fall off the bone. Best BBQ in Tomball and no need to stand in line for an hour to get BBQ that's over rated. We loved the BBQ here. It was our first time to come and we were happy we did. The brisket and pork ribs were the best, moist and tender with great smokey favor. The sausage and pull pork were our next favorite. For sides, the beans and Mac n cheese top the list followed by the potato salad. The green beans were a bit of a disappointment as they lacked favor. I am not sure where to start. My son and his family and I decided to get some Sunday BBQ. so we came here. We were dependent on the reviews from yelp and most other BBQ restaurants were not open on Sunday so we tried this place out. let me start out by saying there is no indoor dinning and you have to go to this itsy bitsy tiny window to place your order mind you they are inside and wearing a mask and you are outside standing there with traffic from 249 blaring behind you so you could barely hear the employee. I placed the order then was told that we have to wait by the window to get our food. mind you again there is no inside seating. they do have outdoor seating in the back. We went in the back and sat down. Here is my issue why cant they just bring the food outside in the back instead of one our parties having to wait on the other side of the building to get all the food? So my son waited for the food when it came out he literally had to squeeze the damn food out the door the employee would not open the door enough to even have an engaging food hand off. They made us feel very unwelcome. we get our food and it was definitely not anything to write home about. we got Brisket and 2 sides and some drinks the brisket was either super fatty or the other pieces were very tough we ended up throwing it away we were so disappointed. the sides tasted like something that was just bought from a store and warmed up. our Drinks we got had so much ice in them we barely had any tea in them. Our bill was over 50.00 just for 1 lb of Brisket, 2 sides , fries, and some drinks. I was so shocked and so not worth it. oh and we had to eat in the dark as no one came out to even see how we were doing or to turn the lights on. we used our phones to light our table. I am usually very open minded when it comes to trying new restaurants but this was just a bad experience overall. I hope that the owner can re-evaluate the staffing and talk with them about being a little more customer oriented. the most disappointing thing is that as a our family does not go out that often as we have little ones with us so its usually a challenge with them so to know I spent that money on this was a total waste. The owners of the restaurant were just lovely and you can tell they enjoy sharing good food. I had the 'Super Spud' with pretty much everything on a giant baked potato. It had BBQ beef, sauce, sour cream, bacon, chives, cheese, jalapenos and pickles. It was so very, very delicious. Hubby had the special which was a pork BBQ sandwich and some chips. The pork was so tender and flavorful. All in all this is a perfect stop and a great way to get those well-earned calories after a hike! read more

There are no shortage of good BBQ places in Tomball, but my favorite is Old Tomball BBQ. Their brisket is done right, and you can ask for the trim you want. The sausage is great and don't miss out by not getting the spicy - although the regular is good too. I always have to request some fresh fried okra. The next time I eat there I will check in.
