    Brisket & pork ribs
    Philip Y.

Great BBQ place at Tomball. I came in around 7:30 pm, the place was empty and half of the items on the menu already sold out I had 1/2 lb brisket, two pork ribs (moist not dry) and coleslaw. I chose the spicy Liquid Gold sauce, but it did not have much kick. The meat was tender and moist with excellent flavor. Will have to come back early next time to sample more items.

Very underrated! These guys know what they're doing! I come here quite often and use to be every Saturday when my wife worked around here as this was our go to lunch spot for Saturdays. Brisket: their brisket is definitely too notch. Out of all the times I've been here, only time the brisket came out a little bit drier than usual. Other than that, it's on out! I have not tried the lean as I'm always a point type of person. Beautiful bark as usual and man oh man it's tasty! Candied ends: absolutely mouthwatering! Delicious and super sweet. A few pieces is all you'll need and definitely shareable! Definitely must try! Beef rib: Super tender and delicious. Definitely not your mushy too too tender rib. Bark was delicious on it! It won't disappoint and that's a damn fact! Chopped brisket sandwich: the bun was very nice and the meat is from a fresh brisket! Loved it! Definitely like sauce on my sandwich so don't skip on that part! Sausage: she usually tries the sausage and it's pretty decent. She's really not to big fan of sausage so I'm not sure how she was rating it. Sides: the slaw and potato salad is definitely our go to and would do it time and time again! Don't skip out on their pickled onions because OMG they are f****en good! Sauce: I don't do reviews too much on sauce but this place has the BEST BEST BESTEST sauce out of any place that I've ever tried. Do not and I repeat, DO NOT skip the OG sauce. It's definitely sweet and I absolutely am a fan! There's quite a bit of seating and usually never a wait time. Like I said, it's underrated and once people actually find out about this place, there definitely will be lines. I absolutely love the staff here because they are always super sweet and so friendly! Like I said, this is my go to spot if I wanna get in and out for some good bbq. It's not just decent, it's actually good! Don't skip out! Give it a try for yourself!

The food wasn't awful, but it definitely wasn't anything close to the best barbecue I've ever had. The corn was great, but the brisket was dry and lacked flavor. There are so many other great barbecue restaurants to go to instead of this one.

I went in with high expectations based on previous reviews and reading the 2022 Texas Monthly article, and the food is even better than expected. Ordered a lb of moist brisket, lb of turkey, and a beef rib to go (spoiled dog expects me home all weekend). The pricing is great for BBQ of this quality, and I plan to dine in on my next visit (likely a week from today). They have the pickles/onions/jalapeños/sauce in a self-serve area, but I have yet to try any of these as I'm sitting here in meat heaven. The 20 minute drive home was torturous as the smell inside my truck kept intensifying. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, clean and of course smells like the cab of my truck does at the moment. I can't wait to try one of their burgers and some sides soon (a week from today). The only thing that surprises me is that there wasn't a line even though I got there just a few minutes after opening. Anyone within a couple of hours of this place needs to try it out. More specifics on the meat: Brisket: Only Snow's in Lexington compares from my personal experience. Truth in Brenham/The Heights is amazing, but I think Bexar is better. The crunchy bark with the perfect salt/pepper rub that seeps all the way through puts it over the top. I need to hit Snow's soon to figure out a true winner for me personally. Rib: Similar to the brisket, the bark is insanely good as is the tenderness. The first few bites I was thinking it needed more salt, but that was just the edge parts. Once you hit the meatier parts in the middle, it becomes intense rich beef flavor with plenty of salt. Turkey: Perfect smoked turkey. Some places have too heavy of smoke on the Turkey in my opinion. This seems like it was cooked hotter, so the smoke is still there, but it doesn't dominate. You can see the juiciness in my picture. All in all, PLEASE FOR THE LIFE OF YOU AND ALL THAT IS HOLY GET YOURSELF SOME BEXAR BBQ ASAP!!!

Best BBQ ever. Most friendly people ever. The BBQ is so moist and the sauce is delicious. I have hot potato salad today and it was like eating a baked potato. Yum. My hubs had a brisket sandwich (on their delicious toasted buns) and a cold potato salad which is not the kind he likes, but had not problem exhaling it. He thought I was going to get the corn. Had I done that, there would none left for me. Their pickles and marinated onions are so good. It is pricey, but the BBQ is out of this world.

I had lunch here on Sunday as Yelp brought me to this relatively new Q joint in Tomball. It's located right on Hwy 249 (not the tollway) as you are driving thru town in a new strip center on the endcap with plenty of parking. Inside it's a counter service restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating choices. After reviewing the menu, I decided on the sliced brisket sandwich with a side of Bexar beans and a soft drink for $18 with tax. After a visit to the self serve drink station my food was ready in less than 5 minutes. The sandwich bread was sweet sourdough providing for a dense bun that had plenty of sliced brisket in it. The brisket had a nice bark on it and the flavor was delicious with a hint of smoke. I was pleased with the sandwich as it was both tasty and filling. I added some of their O.G. BBQ sauce (sweet) which increased my pleasure. For $10.50 it was money well spent (5). The Bexar beans were of the pinto variety and taste wise, I thought they were good but on the order of a (3.5) level. Personally, pinto beans are not my fave however the overall content in this dish was enhanced by having a lot of brisket meat mixed in which added that extra half star. My only recommendation for improvement would be accessing the bbq sauce. They have two types with the aforementioned O.G sweet sauce and a mustard based one called Liquid Gold. The sauces are only available near the drink station in large squeeze bottles. If you want more sauce you have to take your food to the station and handle the appropriate bottle. I wish the sauces could be on the tables or they have small containers to fill and then take to your table. I enjoyed this meal and would be happy to return .

Do they have beef ribs everyday or just certain days of the week?

Yes! Until they run out! They are open Thursday-Sunday. I suggest you go early. We've always gone around 5 or 6 pm.

While it has moved from its previous Top 50 ranking, the food remains a great experience. The brisket was deliciously smoked, though I found the bark to be a little too salty for my taste. Despite that, the meat itself was fantastic. The ribs were hearty and very tender, and the pork belly had a nice flavor, but was a little on the dry side. The pork belly burnt ends were a unique treat. They were covered in a spicy barbecue sauce, which was a pleasant surprise since I usually prefer a fruity base like peach or apricot. The absolute standout was the sausage. It was a perfectly cooked, double-grind sausage with a delicious chili relleno taste. It was cheesy and had an excellent flavor that made it one of my favorite sausage offerings to date. For the sides, the carrot soufflé was a highlight. It was delicious with a smooth texture and only a hint of carrot, making it an excellent and unique side. To top it all off, there's a chocolate shoppe attached to the restaurant, so a chocolate dessert is an absolute must after your meal. I highly recommend this quaint restaurant for a truly enjoyable barbecue experience.

Went back about two weeks ago on a whim and I've already been back twice since. The BBQ is legitimately exceptional now. The burnt ends are amazing--tender, smoky, and packed with flavor. The cheesesteak is awesome, the turkey is surprisingly moist and tasty, and the overall quality is way higher than I remembered. A couple small notes: the poblano sausage was a bit too cheesy for my taste, and the mac and cheese has crushed tortilla chips on top that feel unnecessary (though the base is still solid). Must-orders: Get the chicharrones and queso and ask for a side of Tajín to sprinkle on top--it takes it to another level. The jalapeños at the condiment station are pure fire and delicious. They also have a full bar, so chilling with a cold beer and some top-notch BBQ is the move. The chocolate truffles at the counter are fantastic--you really can't go wrong with any of them. They also have specials if you order four or more items, which is a nice touch. Plenty of seating inside or outside, and there's ample parking right across the street. If you haven't been in a while (or ever), do yourself a favor and give them another shot. I'm glad I did. Solid 4 stars.

Walked in Sunday 5:30pm place was empty I was a little shocked and while there eating only 3-4 more customers came in. 1 couple and 1 guy had a to go order and 1 more couple walked in while I was leaving. I ordered the sliced beef sandwich $13.95 and I got 2 sides, veggies (broccoli and carrots) and Mac & cheese and a drink total was $23.85 BBQ has gotten costly since 2021 and hasn't come down. I still get sticker shock! Yes I could have ordered just the sandwich and it would have been enough as they did not skimp on amount of brisket (see pic) and it was on a fresh and large bun...the brisket was really tender and juicy and tasted good. I was impressed. I added onions and pickle and they had a fresh Serrano pepper on the condiment station... Over all the place has the typical BBQ decor and some stuffed animals and other decor on the walls. Staff were welcoming and friendly and answered my questions. The condiment station was half full on items and appeared in need of restocking as it looked like they hadn't restocked or cleaned since lunch rush. But there was plenty of onions and pickles so no big deal but they don't close until 9pm so you would think they would clean and stock/prep for the 5-9 rush but maybe they are slow on Sunday after 5pm so they don't restock that late in the day. Plenty of parking and tables and seats and separate room so you can find a seat you prefer. Place was over all clean and I did wash my hands and the bathroom seemed pretty clean except for trash can was full and in need of emptying. Over all good experience and I will return next time I am in Tomball.

It reminded me a lot of Rudy's, cafeteria style line, pick your meats, grab your sides, sit down and eat. Unfortunately, we probably should have kept driving. I take barbecue seriously. I smoke at home and I know good smoked meat. The brisket was dry. Not just lean, but dry. The ribs were okay, but ribs are hard to completely mess up. The chicken looked a little undercooked, which is never a good sign. The potato salad tasted like something you grab from a grocery store deli case. The mac and cheese was very basic. The spinach was good, but let's be honest, it is not that hard to make decent spinach. The pecan pie was probably the best thing we had. Their barbecue sauce was very runny and did not really add anything special. If I am being honest, the toppings bar with onions, pickles, and extras was the highlight. My wife pretty much filled up on pickles. I could keep going, but I will just say this. If you really appreciate good barbecue, this may not be your spot. If you just want something quick and do not care too much about depth of flavor, it might work for you. For us, it was a no. Sorry, but no bueno.
