    Bland chorizo and eggs
    Michelle R.

Ordered through Grubhub and got chorizo and egg with rice and beans, plus a cheese quesadilla. Now I love me some chorizo and eggs, but this is the worst chorizo and eggs I have ever had. It was tasteless, and chorizo is a spicy sausage. There was no flavor in the chorizo, no flavor in the beans, and no flavor in the rice. This whole meal was flavorless. I'm glad I got a cheese quesadilla as a backup bc I'm throwing this out, a waste of my $$. So I threw away the chorizo and eggs and started on the cheese quesadilla. Who can mess up cheese and tortilla? Well Daniel's Tacos can. What kind of cheese are they using, there is no flavor in the cheese quesadilla either. Do not recommend this place.

Our first time at "Daniel's Tacos" and we absolutely loved it. Of course, they had the Tacos Tuesday special going on. Their carne asada and al pastor were just superb and very delicious. Tacos with homemade little corn tortillas and burrito wrapped in flour delicate tortilla along with pico del gallo, chopped onions and house celantro sauce - yumminess in making. Of course, we came back and I am happy to say that the food was again, superb, fresh and tasty. We got our carne asada tacos and carne asada burritos of course. This place is just great. Food is being prepared right there in front of you and you can of course customize. I am picky with my food and love when people get that and make my order just the way I love. Smart, because guess what? Yes, I am coming back again to this spot. Craving tacos and burritos and other yummy plates like quesadillas and tortas, check them out. Totally worth it

    Huarache - so good!

So impressed with this taco place!! It's really cheap for what you get and everything is so tasty. Their salsa bar was really good, especially the avocado and red ones. Love that they have dried chiles on the table too. On tuesdays they do $1 tacos! I got a cabeza taco for the first time and it was so tender and flavorful. I also got a carne asada huarache, which was like a salad on a flour tortilla. It was so yummy! I loved the avocado and cream on it. Their meat is so good! I definitely want to try all the other things too. My boyfriend loved the cabeza taco as well, and he also got a carnitas and al pastor. He thought they were all yummy! They have a couple locations in LA and this one has pretty good parking. We'll be back!

    Piece of glass

I ordered a steak torta today, as I'm eating it, I chewed a piece of glass or fiber glass that was inside torta and I heard my teeth crack. I'm so pissed right now. Please be aware, I will be reporting this to them

    4 pastor tacos with some fix-ins - a steal

Can't speak for everyone, but for me this has been some of the best Mexican food I've had, second only to what I've had in Mexico. Came for a snack so tried the 4 taco plate for pastor. I'm used to it being a spicy, sometimes dry chunk of pork kind of like asada, but this meat was incredibly moist, almost more like a chili. It was really cool seeing the tortillas being formed to order, and the salsas I tried were all solid. My brother was jelly, so he ordered some taquitos. Not sure what we expected, but this were huge! Almost like a chimichanga's little brother, the beef inside was nice and crispy and the guac felt both fresh and light. I can't say if Daniel's is either the best or most authentic from my short pit stop in North Hills. But from stopping by on a whim, I was incredibly impressed.

    "Pastor" burrito; all rice.

Normally tacos and burritos are fantastic at this location but lately it has been sub-par too many times to count. Apart from prices going up, now I'm getting a nearly ALL-RICE burrito. I'd rather go to the tacos stand by my house and for only $6 flat, and a mountain of meat, a much better deal.

2 Pollo (top), 1pollo, 1 pastor, 1 asada (bottom left), chips & quac

My husband has been here once before without me and had said we should go together on a Taco Tuesday. So we went for Taco Tuesday and they were so delicious! Each taco is only $1 on Tuesdays! I tried one Chicken, one carne asada, and one pastor. I really liked the chicken and the pastor was SO flavorful! My husband got two chicken tacos. We also ordered a side of chips and guac. I like that they have a salsa bar and all of them were tasty. I think this will be our new Tuesday night spot!

    Barely any bang

Nice employees but they always give me my Orange Bang with lots of ice and barely any drink ..

Supposedly a burrito mojado... emphasis on the mojado Disgusting tomato water and floating cheese/tortilla log

Great little Mexican place. Nothing special inside except for the great food, friendly people, and the salsa bar.

In a city where Mexican food is probably the primary dining option; one might think that it is all…read morethe same: that a taco here is the same as a taco there. This line of thinking is completely false as each region and state in Mexico has distinct flavors, cultural preparations and unique ingredients. Luckily in the City of Angels; we have access to all of these styles whereas everyone can pick and choose their favorite! I was in the North Hills/Mission Hills area and decided Mexican was going to be the meal of the day - and thanks to the trusty Yelp app: Tacos al Tijuanense was the winner to satisfy my hunger pang. If you are a longtime LA resident or born-and-raised within the city limits and can swear to Tacos al Tijuanense sounding familiar/remembering that it was a food truck... Then your memory doesn't deceive you. Tacos al Tijuanense birthed as a food truck in 1987 quickly gaining popularity for its smoked meats and Tijuana-inspired flavors serving tacos, vampiros, quesadillas, birria tacos, etc; loaded with fresh toppings and offering a variety of meats for the protein selection. The LA love for Tacos al Tijuanense caused such popularity that the food truck expanded into brick-and-mortar locations with several now spread throughout the city. The North Hills location of Tacos al Tijuanense holds real estate near the Woodly/Nordhoff intersection in a small strip plaza shopping center that seems half sleepy and half eyebrow-raising. But, as most of us know, the hidden gems are usual the best spots so don't be deterred by such businesses like the sketchy massage parlor next door. In fact, diners will be pleasantly surprised when crossing the threshold of the entrance to find an airy interior with high ceilings, natural light, wooden accents and the combination of a trendy- almost gastropub sticking to the food truck theme (there is even a food truck motif behind the order counter) that feels like a party. Tacos al Tijuanense is not what you would expect from the outside! Tacos al Tijuanense is fast-casual meaning you order behind the counter and take a number to the table of your choice. After browsing the menu, my boyfriend chose a Quesadilla (13" tortilla filled with protein of your choice, jack cheese, cilantro and salsa with my boyfriend picking chicken - $13) and a Vampiro (toasted corn tortilla layered with jack cheese, choice of meat, onions, cilantro and salsa with al pastor - $3). For my order, I also went with a Vampiro but with chicken while also ordering Nachos to share with carne asada. When our plates arrived, we were surprised to see the size of the portions. Everything at Tacos al Tijuanense is large and in charge and they most certainly do not skimp! The fillings are overflowing with bright, fresh ingredients, toppings are numerous and the size overall makes everything shareable. My Vampiro was crisp with delicious guacamole that added a refreshing element and tender, tasty chicken. My favorite was my boyfriend's Quesadilla which was gooey, warm and perfect. You can't go wrong with a quesadilla! But we have to talk about the nachos because these nachos are HUGE! This is party size and could generously feed three people. The carne asada was heavenly and the chips tasted homemade. The only slightly "meh" factor was that the cheese atop the nachos was canned cheese and we would have preferred melted shredded cheese. This wouldn't have been such an issue had the canned cheese been in a rational amount but it seemed like a Costco-sized can poured onto these chips! These nachos were hidden under cheese glop! Regardless, they were still delicious. Tacos al Tijuanense holds true to its almost 40-year-old fame with affordable prices, delicious food, large portions giving you a bang for your buck and a surprisingly inviting ambiance. Tacos al Tijuanense is definitely recommended and the North Hills location is much recommended despite its odd plaza placement.
