Danny's chicken was over the bridge, thru the $3 toll but we made it to niceville in search for this good ole fried chicken! I made my husband take the first bite. I was testing him to see if the chicken tasted better than mines!! (Sorry Dan u lost) But trust and believe it was all the juicy/moist flavorful goodness fried chicken should be. I really liked the food here, oh and the dumplings are good and full of flavor.. the chicken/dumplings was a bit over seasoned for my taste when it comes to dumplings but that could just be me. We have loved Danny's for years but tonight we were very disappointed. Our favorite is using gizzard dinners. The gizzards were small, hard, and overcooked. We might give them any chance for old times sake but sure hope they do better. read more

I love this place I eat here everytime I'm in niceville. Sometimes I even drive from my town (30 minutes away) just to eat here! The chicken is always fresh and juicy. On Sunday they have macaroni as a side choice plus some bbq beans you ant go wrong and my husband loves the mashed potatoes. They have great prices and great sweet tea the people are very down to earth I can't say enough good things about this place but everytime I eat here I'm more than satisfied with my lunch or dinner. read more

Went to Danny's through the drive-through to order some food got to the window and apparently my card was declined because I keep my card on lock with my bank and so Becky the owner gave me my mail on the house then I went back to pay for my meal that she gave me on the house and I got a receipt well the receipt stated it was for a finger dinner and a large tea so when I went yesterday to get a three-piece dinner she confronted me about not paying for my meal that she had on the house so I went through my purse and I found my receipt and today I took my receipt to her and she gave me my money back and specifically told me that her nor her husband Randy wants me to eat there anymore so I just thought I would let everybody know who is reading Google reviews before you go somewhere do not give this place any type of business ! This place is a whole in the wall but I have to say it was better than Popeyes. Tasty and fresh. The biscuits were moist and soft. The ones at Popeyes have been dry and hard the last few visits for us. They have moist dirty rice here people! My daughter enjoyed the mash potatoes and cream gravy. They have good ice tea like one at CFA and Whataburger. The food was not salty or overly greasy for fried chicken. We were happy with the meal we had here. We drove from Destin 40 minutes to arrive at 8:30pm because the web says 9pm closing time and to our dismay they had chicken we could see but had already turned the lights out and had locked the doors!!!! The fried chicken here is great. They have a two piece chicken special for under $5.00. You also get a choice of two sides and a biscuit. They also have gizzards on the menu which seem to be popular but I have not had the courage to try. It can't be any weirder than muendo from my beloved home state, NM. If you go on Sunday the sides include Mac and Cheese. At lunch time the line for the drive thru stretches around the building. They really do need to put and employee on table duty during the busy lunch hour. The tables tend to get greasy. While almost everyone busses their own table they still get greasy and crumbly which is unappetizing. read more

Honestly, this is the best fried chicken we've had outside of Texas. Anyone heard of Bush's Chicken? Chicken Express? It's along those lines. This isn't KFC style. This is a local establishment with employees working behind the counter to pump out freshly fried chicken and sides. And it was GOOD. I got the chicken tender meal which came with A LOT of smaller sized tenders - somewhere between nugget and tender size. I believe the meal was $7.99 but it came with two sides. I was feeling the pressure of the line building behind me so I asked for two sides of fries, but I wish I had gotten a side of chicken and dumplings. My husband got a three piece meal with dumplings and something else (can't remember), and the chicken and dumplings were GOOD. He said that the chicken was the best he's had besides Bush's. The interior had plenty of seating and was nice and clean. The employees were friendly, food was fresh and of high quality, and the cost was really cheap considering how much food we got. Definitely glad we stopped by last weekend. We live in Destin but will drive over when in the mood. read more

Had the chicken legs and chicken livers. Both were excellent. Fries were soggy and subpar. Mac n cheese was ok. Red beans were great. Biscuits were good. We explained we were staying at a hotel and needed ketchups,utensils honey and butter. 3 packs of ketchup and we had to beg for more. No butter. Because when I ate my, 3 piece dark meat meal with a biscuit, coleslaw, chicken & dumplings, and onion rings, it took me back to when I was a kid. My family would have big Sunday dinners after church. This food was amazing enough to take me back and feel like I was home again. Decent place for southern food. Has the chicken finger plate with beans and potatoes. Chicken is seasoned well. They have a drive thru which is convenient. I come from an area of the country that just has bad fried chicken so I figured that this place must be great given that it wasn't on the west coast and it has high reviews. I had a 3-piece mixed, which was $5.99. Mind you, the same thing at the popular non-chain chicken place here is something like $9.50 and it's like 1/10th as good. Good portions of chicken and definitely homemade. The Danny's sauce is okay. Seems like a thousand island variation where they use mustard instead of ketchup. Not much flavor to the chicken but it does have a little bit of a bite. Reminds me of Popeyes chicken. Sides were nothing to rave about but they were fresh. Not the absolute best fried chicken you have ever had but darn close. If your mother ever fried chicken in a black skillet when you were a kid this is pretty close. Chicken is seasoned well, the skin is crunchy with a very light batter on it. The Tuesday special came with two sides. One side was a okra tomato medley which really was more like a gumbo. Now this stuff was fabulous. Had a little season to kick to it and if you put a bowl of that over some rice would have a good meal. But it was great just being a side. The other side I chose red beans and rice which is pretty good too. Meal also came with a biscuit. So for basically $7.50 you got three pieces of chicken those sides and a drink. I would recommend this place. Certainly not healthy eating but if you're looking for that fried chicken fix you'll be satisfied here read more
