Fresh well baked Pizza, love the sausage !! Had a pepperoni cheese, and a sausage mushroom, with half tomato green pepper onion. started with a small salad with the house dressing. The dressing and salad were good, the pizza was thin crispy, sauce had a nice flavor. I love coming here and everything is always great! Our server has a running joke with my family about the salad dressing. The pizza has quality that you only get when it is made with love. Everyone that works at Dante's is happy to talk with people and we discuss local news. Stuff like the yarn bomber, easy to talk about and keep up a conversation about. When someone says, "What are we doing for dinner?" the first answer is either Leftovers or Dante's. They have been in Clintonville as long as I have, no wait, definitely longer. I love this place. I grew up eating here and now I take my kids there a few times a year. The food is always super good and super fresh. Great local pizza shop. My only reason not to give 5 stars is they don't take credit cards, its 2015. So we can only go there, days when I have cash on me, which isn't often. read more

I have been coming here since i was a young teenager growing up in clintonville. 10+ years later when i visit family, this place is still delicious. They are super old school taking cash/check only, but its the same people running it i remember as a kid. One of the best pizzas you can get in columbus. We have been going around Columbus to independent pizza places with another couple. Tonight we went to Dante's on Indianola. It was the perfect pie. Great crust that was crispy on the bottom but not like a cracker crust. Thick enough to be substantial and hold the toppings but not like eating a slice of bread. The toppings were flavorful and abundant with plenty of cheese. The dining room is a bit small and dated but the pizza more than makes up for the appearance. . read more

Delicious pizza! My husband and I ordered a 14 inch 1/2 cheese and 1/2 pepperoni and finished the whole thing in one sitting! It is a wonderful, small, family restaurant. We went with friends and their young kids and the waitress brought the 3 year old a bowl of cheese and pepperoni to hold her over until the pizza came- it was such a thoughtful gesture! read more

I'd love to say we tried the food but we didn't even get the chance. Called ahead and ordered a pick up at 7:06pm. The young lady on the phone told us 20 minutes. That would mean our order would be ready at 7:26pm. We were actually a bit late when we showed up. I jumped out of the car and ran in to grab the food. I told her our name, what we were picking up, I paid the lady at the cash register and waited. And waited. And waited. And waited. And waited. The guy behind the counter decided to start eating toppings with his dirty hands right in front of customers. Had no problem sticking his hands that had just handled money right into the pepperoni bin and eat some bits right in front of waiting customers. What the actual fuck? Did that just happen? Did he forget he was working and serving the public? Did he forget his hands were filthy? While people came in and out, I waited. And waited. 10 minutes. 15, 20 minutes...It's now almost 8:00pm. A man walked in, grabbed 20 pizzas, a giant bag of subs, and salad, and walked out with two people helping him to his vehicle. 30 minutes. I finally said, "Um...where is our order?" The entire crew looked around and seemed incredibly confused. I realized why they were confused because the stack of incorrectly labeled pizza boxes hadn't moved in that entire hour. They pulled it down and there was a little simultaneous mental groan that rippled through the staff. "Oh, it was labeled wrong. We can just give it to you for free..." You guys were starring at me the entire time I was standing there and never asked me what I was waiting on. No communication, and I think someone knew they totally screwed up yet lacked the proverbial balls to fess up, making the problem 100 times worse. I'll never get that hour of my life back. If this is what you do to customers because you're too focused on a bigger order and can't handle new customers, I don't want to buy anything from you. I got my money back and left and will never return. Damn shame, guys. You lost this one. read more

First time ordering here, I loved it. I'm a fan of thin, crunchy crust, and Dante's does that excellently. I will be going back!

I'm a little disappointed with the pizza. I had high hopes after reading other reviews, but the pizza didn't do anything for me. The price was fine, the size and thickness of crust is fine, everything else was so so. The sauce had minimal flavor, the cheese was a little boring and bland, and the pepperoni had no zest. Honestly, (and a little sorry to say) it reminded me of cheap frozen pizza flavor despite smelling awesome when I picked it up. read more

It was late. Our group of 9 (including 5 kids) were cold and hungry after visiting The Chinese Lantern Festival. We were looking for pizza but couldn't find one nearby that didn't have a long wait. Yelp to the resuce. Saw the high ratings for this place and set the navigation toward it. As we pulled into the parking lot we were worried we had made the wrong choice. I think it would fall into "just a little hole in the wall" category. But OH MY! The pizza was amazing! We couldn't stop eating and all of us left with hurting stomachs from eating more than we should have. Everyone is super friendly. Felt like small-town service. Finally tried Dante's tonight (my usual go tos include Pizza House, Villa Nova or Grandad's) and was really quite impressed. Their crust is quite unique: flaky, crunchy, and very tasty without being overtly cracker-like. Personally thought the sausage tasted weird and won't order it next time. Appreciated that the vegetables were finely chopped so as to not make the crust soggy. Would likely order more pizza from here if they took credit, but willing to withdraw cash once in a while to enjoy the pizza! read more

My boyfriend and I stopped here after shopping at Weinland's Market. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and some garlic bread. I was a little confused that they didn't take credit/debt cards, but we luckily had cash. The pizza didn't take long - only about 20 minutes. The flavor of the pizza was good. I really did not like the crust of the pizza because the edges were way too crunchy. The cheese kept falling off every time I took a bite. There was also way too much sauce for my taste. Overall, it was decent. I probably won't go out of my way to eat there though. read more

So torn as to how to rate Dante's. This is my favorite pizza, and has been for 30+ years. 5 stars easy. EXCEPT... there is no excuse for not taking credit cards in the year 2016!! This is one of the best pizzerias I have been to. The meatballs were so yummy they were super tender and super tasty. The salad was also super good but the best thing there has to be the pizza. My son and I enjoyed the half onion pepperoni and half banana peppers and black olives it was so addicting it made me and my son want to come back to here and enjoy Columbus again. read more

Best pizza in Columbus! Even though we now live 20 minutes away we still get it all the time! There is just nothing like it, great flavor, not greasy like I feel a lot of pizzas here are and the best ingredients! My boyfriend loves their pepperoni and homemade sausage and I prefer the pineapple and ham, both are awesome! Just ordered 2 large pepperoni and sausage pizza. My son took one bite and noticed a long piece of hair stuck in his crust. I called snd spoke to the owner and the only thing he offered me was another pizza. So I had to go to the restaurant demand my money back. The owner told me he wasnt going to reimburse me my money back u til I threatened to write a review. I will never order pizza or anything else from this restaurant. I recommend you don't either!!! I have been to Dante's a few times and I have always enjoyed the pizza. The last time I went we dined in. The place was quite a mess and there were dirty napkins and dishes on almost every table which happens (busy) but they were never cleaned. Service was very friendly but didn't refill water or anything. Make sure you have cash. The pizza is good and we like to pick up a pie on lazy days and take it right across the street to the park. ok, we're probably the only people who didnt order their pizza, and based on the reviews, i guess we should have. the food is pretty awful. retro throwback to the 60s when italo-american spots were afraid to even put oregano into their sauces. if you like tasteless sauce, lasagna noodles swimming in sauce, but shapeless, because of the lack of cheese, iceberg "salad", this is the place for you. no wine, only beer. sure wish we had ordered a pizza, but it's the 'cracker-crust' crust that used to be so popular in columbus back in the 80s before good pizza-joints came to town. what can say; the service was good, but oh my. read more

I grew up in Clintonville and have recently moved back to the area so I was so excited to order Dante's pizza again. I remember Pat sneaking pepperoni slices to me under the counter when I'd go with my dad to pick up a pizza when I was little. I don't get pepperoni slices anymore, but the pizza is still as wonderful as I remember it. Nothing else in Columbus even compares. read more

Friendly service and reasonable price, but not the pizza for me. The thin crust isn't terribly flavorful, but isn't unpleasant, either, and it avoids being too heavy or greasy. The sauce seemed thin and sour. The cheese used tasted like it was heavy on provolone rather than mozzarella. The amount of toppings and spices were just right; some local thin-crust places have an overwhelming amount of toppings and spices, probably to hide the fact that grease is the other main flavor. I feel like this could be the right pizza for someone, but I probably won't bother going back. read more
