    Veal sandwich
    Mike I.

Ordered a party size pizza and 4 veal sandwiches last Saturday night. When calling in to place the order was advised the order would take 1-1/2hr for delivery but the order took just a couple minutes under 2 hrs. Pizza was not very hot and very expensive ($40 for party size). The veal sandwiches were also expensive at $13.19/ sandwich with very little veal in the sandwich. Small pieces of veal to make it look like a lot of meat. Would not recommend as there are definitely better places at lower prices in the GTA to choose from.

On one visit, I had Dante's Fiesta: veal, spicy sausage & meatballs in tomato sauce with red pepper, mushroom, onion & mozzarella. It was pretty tasty (though the spicy sausage wasn't spicy), and was a big portion. It serves 2 (though this is not stated on the menu). I liked that there was a mix of 3 types of meat. It came with a side (I chose oven baked wedges) and some bread. Both were alright. On another visit, I had the Super Deluxe pizza. It was okay. The vegetables were on the raw side and it was kind of pricey. Ironically given the name, you're better off sticking to other dishes and getting pizza elsewhere.

Close up of the Meat Lovers side.

This is not your typical Pizzeria, the sizing are a little bit different than other pie shops. The sizes go from Mini (12"), small (14"), medium (16"), large (18"), & party (21"x15"). Decided on a small thin crust pizza with half Meat Lovers and half Pepperoni. A whopping total of $31.63. We bring the box inside the car and immediately the scent of bacon and pepperoni is whirling in the air. It smells meaty, fresh, and mouthwatering. The box is open and it presented a loaded amount of toppings including pepperoni, bacon, salami, and sausage. This looks real good. So good that I became hungry again after eating a couple hours ago. Let's move to the taste test. Taking a bite into the pepperoni pizza, I realize the strong bold taste of the meat. This is really high quality pepperoni, however as I continue to eat the pie - I realize something. The tomato sauce was not apparent to me in any way, shape, or form. BUT, let me tell you this. The dough on this pizza was incredible. Thin, consistent, and chewiness was spot on. Real addictive, that crust. On to the Meat Lovers half, this was much more oily and greasy. It was kind of hard to eat because the toppings would fall off. The bacon was soft and chewy, so do not expect crispiness. The combination of the meats overpowered the bland sauce and cheese. Left a bit of a salty aftertaste due to the concentration of meats. If there was less oil, this pizza would be a 4 star for sure. The way this pizza was cooked, it was done with care and love. It was cooked to perfection, no burnt pizza bottoms or crust. The pizza was decent, the crust and the meats were the highlights today. It was made to order, aromatic, and hot. Not a budget friendly option, a pay day cheque would be alright here. -TwoHappyThumbs

Look at all the toppings. Their super deluxe is amazing !!!

What can I say Always has been And Hopefully always will be The top spot for gourmet pizza in the gta Very pricey but worth every penny For all the toppings on the pizza The meatballs The homemade sauce And The great quality This place rocks

Very small for $11.99. Bring back the original veal sandwiches! Hard bread, hardly any veal compared to what they used to make - disappointed

I come from Thornhill, home of the original Dante's. We were customers for over 17 years while they were on Bay Thorn Drive. Imagine my disappointed when they moved to Vaughan. We ordered a few times even paying the crazy $15 delivery charge to get their super amazing veal sandwiches & pasta to our house in Markham once we moved. As delivery charges rose up, we stopped ordering. Honestly, i didn't give them a second thought until recently when someone mentioned that Dante's closed and the same family opened Paoletti's Pizzeria. I was so excited because just last night, hubby was heading home from work and after a week of craving those amazing veal sandwiches, hubby was 10 min away from Paoletti's! Our take-out order was: 1 steak sandwich, 1 veal sandwich and 1 order of Vodka Penne. The veal sandwich - WHAT HAPPENED?!?! Very little veal, bread was very hard & impossible to bite into, hardly any meat (yes, so shocked i said it twice!!!) I was very very disappointed in the portion and quality of bread they now use. The cheese was baked on so much, i couldn't see the veal until splitting the sandwich apart. The portion of meat was 1/4 of what they used to serve in their huge soft bread. Not even their super delish sauce could save this sandwich for me and how tough the bread was. Veal was still as tender as ever, but if they continue to use the same bread, i won't be back unless it's for pizza & pasta to order. Their sandwiches used to be huge - so much meat you could use the bread given with the pasta to make a second sandwich. Certainly not the case anymore. The only thing that saved the meal for us, was the Vodka Penne - as if time had stood still, still amazing as ever!

SERVICE: 10/10 PIZZA: 4/10 Despite the amazing people working there who are super friendly and nice, I was disappointed in the quality of their pizza. Margherita was flavourless and the crust was too thick. I wish they used Parmesan cheese instead of what appeared to be cheddar cheese. The medium pizza is way too big for 2 people, it's good for 3-4 people. Overall, despite the amazing service, the quality of their pizza simply wasn't adequate for me. I've tried better pizzas elsewhere in the GTA. If you want a good pizza in Vaughan/Woodbridge, I recommend Gelato Gelato Pizzeria (3650 Langstaff Rd, Woodbridge).

We also had the Reuben and a Brisket poutine. The poutine and rib sandwich were our favourites. Was a little on the pricey side but quality was good. We ordered on the self service machine and they called us to the counter to pick up the food when ready.

I really love the atmosphere they've created which has thoughtful seating, great decor, and a niche, cozy feel. For my first visit, I went with their Smash Burger ($9.95) and upgraded to a double for about $4 more. The pricing is pretty reasonable compared to other smash/gourmet burger places. The burger features dry-aged, house-ground Canadian beef chuck, smashed thin and crispy, topped with cheddar, S&S smash sauce, S&S pickles, caramelized onions, and shredded lettuce on a freshly baked potato roll. The bun isn't the most "pillowy" soft I've had, with a slightly brioche-like top, but still delicious and elevated. The seasoning on the edges was a bit salty for me, but once everything came together with the bun and condiments, it worked well. Simple, classic, and satisfying. Service was friendly, and there's ample parking. They offer online ordering, but I recommend going in person for the full experience and to pick up their stamp card (buy 10 burgers, get one free, and yes, you can redeem it for a double). Next on my list to try: their Montreal smoked meat. A hidden gem and great find.

The plaza itself is such a vibe, reminding me of Unionville Main Street for those familiar with the area. The signage throughout the plaza is excellent, making the place easy to find. As soon as I walked in, I was immediately captivated by the decor. It has such a unique aesthetic that's perfect for photos. I also noticed they have a patio with umbrellas, making it an ideal spot to enjoy on a breezy summer day without worrying about the sun. I originally came intending to order the Chicken Caesar Salad Wrap ($15.99), but after spotting a table advertisement for their new Pizza Caesar Salad Wrap, I couldn't resist trying the pepperoni version ($16.99). My sister ended up ordering the Chicken Caesar Salad Wrap instead, so we got to sample both. They also offer cookies, croissants, coffee, and matcha, along with 16- and 20-ounce iced drinks that are reasonably priced. I'm definitely intrigued to come back and try one. Even better, they've recently started serving breakfast, giving me even more reasons to return. The portions were generous and satisfying, and both wraps were packed with flavor. They struck the perfect balance of textures; crisp, creamy, and incredibly fresh. Honestly, no notes. They were perfection. I'd happily order them again, though I'm equally tempted to work my way through the rest of the menu. To top it all off, the staff were warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming, making for an all-around excellent experience.

I've never had mortadella before so I ordered the 4 Seasons as well as a hot dog. The hot dog is decent. The sausage is nicely grilled so it enhances that smoky flavor. The bun was a sesame bun but dry - just OK. Not sure it is worth the price or that I'd order it again. But when it comes to the sandwich, the ingredients were so fresh, the meat was delicious, the sauces were yummy, and it is overall composed really well. I'm a very saucy girl so it's slightly on the dry side for me, though. If I had to equate it to another well-known chain, I'd put this up there with Jersey Mike's, but perhaps with an edge because of the curated sauces and freshness. I love you too, Grandma!

Menu is easy to follow: you pick a vessel and a protein, as well as your choice of toppings and sauces. You can also choose sides and drinks as well. They also have daily deals. My go-to is the HOLY SHRIMP as a SALAD bowl. I top it with cheese, caramelized onions, crispy onions, cucumber, southeast salsa, and sweet pickled cabbage. Their avocado cream is a must-have sauce and this time, I requested a little bit of their roasted peanut sauce as well. The shrimp will definitely have you saying "HOLY!" because they're so crunchy and flavorful. Not to mention, a really good size! One serving is about 5-6 large pieces of shrimp. The K.F.C. was the first protein I tried and is my second go-to choice. Service is always friendly and in general, the entire process is just so easy and convenient. I've also never had to wait long for my food, which I appreciate!

I stopped by Lambo's Deli on a Monday morning before the lunch rush and opted to grab: - Italian trio sandwich (soppressata, mortadella, prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers, picked red onion, arugula, pesto, Calabrian chili spread) - $18 - Soft serve (flavour was hojicha) -$5 Service was friendly and I received my soft serve while waiting for my sandwich to be prepared. It took about 5 min and it was nicely packed. Staff were great and handed me a handful of napkins as well. I ate my sandwich an hour later and before opening the packaging, the sandwich was pretty heavy! Looking at a cross section of the sandwich, it was packed with ingredients! The Italian Trio sandwich was delicious. The roasted red peppers, pickled red onion, arugula, and Calabrian chili spread added freshness to the sandwich which didn't make it feel so heavy with all the deli meats inside as well as the mozzarella cheese. The sandwiches are big and I could only finish half for lunch. Overall, a delicious sandwich shop in Leslieville.
