Very friendly waiters and a good looking spot, but food was meh. We got different sandwiches and salads and they were all pretty standard and the portions were a little small compared to similar restaurants/ breweries. That being said the prices were a little lower than average for what I see in the Bay Area. I ended up getting the Salmon Quinoa Salad and it was completely dry. You get a good piece of salmon but otherwise just a bunch of dry spinach. I didn't finish my meal which is saying a lot since I ALWAYS finish my plate. The place does have some outdoor seating and dogs can sit out there. The spot had a lot more seating inside and was very busy on a Sunday afternoon. Our family had lunch with relatives from Colorado at the Danville Brewing Co. We got a table for 6 and placed our orders with our friendly waiters. The food arrived hot and delicious. We were enjoying ourselves when...suddenly my brother collapsed and became unresponsive. Within 5 minutes, the Ambulance and medics arrived and went into a complete medical response, reviving my brother. Then they y took him to the JM Hospital. I am writing this to say that all the waiters and staff were super helpful and caring... and made this restaurant outstanding in terms of service as well as great food. They all deserve high praise for their kindness to us. We shall return again for more good and tasty food...and for their great response in an emergency! Rating: 5 stars!!! read more

We've been here a couple times and I find it just OK. They use a lot of spicy condiments and cheese and that tells me they are depending on the spicy factor instead of having good flavor. The steak sandwich was a nice piece of meat but just wasn't seasoned. And I guess I just don't like arugula much. Even salt would have helped. The french fries were ok. My husband had the bacon jam burger and liked it. I can't remember what I had last time that didn't wow me. The service was good. Nice people. And I'll never eat there for dinner again. The volume is just too loud and piercing. We couldn't hear one another. Maybe with some sound mitigation, it would be ok but it was just too much. I really enjoyed coming to lunch here. The place had great outdoor and indoor seating, the food was great, and the beer was even better. I saw two beers I wanted to try and had the bartender choose whatever they thought I should try for the rest of my flight and I liked her picks better than my own. They also had a healthy list of guest taps. I had the cheese and apple sandwich with bacon as well as the parm fries. I got the onions on the side but that was one of my favorite parts of the sandwich. I didn't particularly enjoy the fries as much as the rest of the meal but I really liked their menu options overall. I was even lucky enough to meet the head brewer, super nice guy! I love that the brewery and the restaurant are built into each other because you can smell them brewing while hanging out and I love that smell. Can't wait to come back soon!!! read more

I've been to DBC a couple of times and enjoyed it however today was a different experience. We went in as a party of 2 around 3pm and had a bespectacled, bald gentleman as our server. As soon as we sat down he asked if we were ready to order and when we weren't, he waited 10 minutes to circle back. My partner was torn between two options and asked the server for recommendations between the Fish and Chips or the BBQ Salmon. The server replied "I mean, it's two different animals so" which is kind of a crazy response to a guest that's asking you for menu recommendations, never mind that cod and salmon are both fish. His comment was condescending and did not leave a good impression, in addition to him not checking in on us regularly or clearing empty glasses when needed. Service was very slow and impersonal given that the restaurant had maybe 6 tables with less than 4 guests each. After this experience from this server, we are discouraged to return as there are other local options with better service standards. The beer was good, food was average. Our seats allowed us to note that our Fish and Chips sat in the window for well over 5 minutes, was greasy, and overall unimpressive. The BBQ salmon resembled something closer to microwaveable TV dinners with the consistency of the mashed potatoes being sticky and under seasoned. The salmon itself was very tasty and cooked to the requested temperature. We hope that future guests have a better experience than we did. read more

DBC is our family's go-to spot if were craving a great meal. For a family of 5 it's hard to pick a place that everyone likes. But everyone loves DBC. My go to is the steak sando with truffle fries! I strongly recommend it. They have wide selection of beers to choose from as well most they brew on-premise. Give them a try you won't be disappointed! As much as I've been here, I wanted to try something new. I had never seen Loco Moco on the menu, so I decided to give that a try. My mother ordered the pulled pork sandwich with truffle fries. Pulled pork is always a sure choice. Loco Moco, not so much. Coming from someone who's had their fair share of Loco Mocos, this Loco Moco was bland and tasteless. The presentation was great, taste, not so much. I got the Danville IPA, she got a blonde ale. When our food got there, my mother asked our waitress Jenna for Hot sauce. Don't know if she didn't hear, but she never came back. She wasn't really tentative and looked like she didn't want to be there. This place always gets a 5 star in my book, but not today. What you would expect from a brew pub and even better than thought especially after their excellent beer

After a challenging 8-mile hike, I was ready for a cold beverage and food. We decided to check out Danville Brewing, since we were introduced to their beer at a recent beer fest. First, the beer. It is okay. We both got the flight for $12, which included six of their brews, excluding the blonde. (Which was fine by me.) I think a flight is always the best way to get a feel for what a brewery has to offer. As a hops fan, I liked the Hop Magee (IPA) best, although I didn't love it enough to want a pint. Two of the other beers in the flight were also IPAs, as well as a Hefeweizen (Hartzen Weizen), Red Ale (Rye So Rude), and a Chocolate Stout. In addition to their own beers, they also offer some guest beers, as well as wine and cocktails. Next, the food. I thought their food was fantastic. The problem with their food menu is that so many things sounded good. I finally decided on the Protein Salad, which is the choice of beef, turkey, or veggie burger (I got beef), quinoa, mixed greens, roasted tomatoes, goat cheese, and a chimichurri vinaigrette. It was so delicious that I immediately decided that it will be a dish that I will attempt to recreate at home. I hope I can make it even close to as delicious as they do. My honey was equally pleased with his Ahi Poke Salad. Our server was nice, came around just enough to take our order and check on things. The space is bright and open, with lots of indoor and outdoor seating options. I would definitely return for the food and would probably give their beers another go. read more

I don't visit Danville much, but I'm happy about my choice when passing through. They have a pretty good sized space which includes outdoor seating. On Friday at 6 it was busy but we were still able to get a take for 2 plus an infant. The beer was good but not outstanding. Better than standard national beer for sure, but I've had better craft beer. There wasn't anything wrong with it it just didn't have any particular interesting flavors going on. Food was decent. The Brussel sprouts were really good - they get 5 stars. The pretzel bites were pretty good too. My pulled pork sandwich was decent - but the pulled pork didn't knock me off my chair. While the food is delicious, we had a frustrating time at the Brewery in Danville today. One of our orders did not arrive and we had to complain bitterly about it to get it made and served. They did not charge us for it but the charge appeared in one of our friends bill and she had to complain to get it off. All this while shouting to one another over the extremely loud music. I've had Danville Brewing on my list of places to eat and sad to say, I will unlikely return. Although the service was great, the food and beer was a bit subpar. Though it would be a good place to hang out with friends for a drink. L O C A T I O N Basically at the corner of Railroad Ave and Short St, it's easy to get to and great thing that there's 4 hour parking right across the street in a very large lot. So it wasn't hard to find a spot. There's a crosswalk that has lights that you can activate to safely walk across. I N T E R I O R There are seats at the bar, some tables in the back and some communal high tables near the front. It's your standard industrial interior design with a mixture of metals, wood, and exposed brick, though the brick doesn't feel real...but maybe it was! M E N U They have a variety of pub food like fried brussel sprouts, ahi poke nachos, fish tacos to salads to burgers to sandwiches to mains. Pricing is a bit high which I wouldn't mind for food if it was good. But later on that. For drinks they have your beers of course (it's brewery) and colas as well as cocktails. ~ Propect Protein Salad ~ $17 choice of natural grass fed beef, all natural turkey or vegetarian burger served over organic mixed greens, quinoa, roasted tomato, humboldt fog goat cheese, chimichurri vinaigrette I opted for the vegetarian burger as it is Lent after all. I asked for the chimichurri vinaigrette on the side as I always feel that people tend to overdress their salads and I like to control the amount. The salad looked impressive but that's pretty much the only thing good about it. I chimichurri dressing didn't add anything to the dish except moisture. The whole salad was salt upon salt. The vegetarian patty was so salty. The texture was more potato based than anything and pretty much fell apart and was mushy. The goat cheese was in large blobs on the plate and again...it was salty. The roasted tomato was salty. So I felt super dehydrated after eating a few bites. ~ Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Beer ~ $6 Amber, full bodied ale is brewed with rich and nutty British malt, toasted oats and a blend of caramel malts and milk sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla and raisins all meld together to make a beer that tastes like an oatmeal raisin cookie I was looking forward to this beer. The description was enticing and yet fell flat as it just tasted like....beer. No notes or anything that would remotely say oatmeal raisin cookie. But it did give me a good buzz due to its 6.6% alcoholic content. ~ Fries ~ I did get the chance to eat some of the fries and I actually liked the mix of slighly mushy and crunch to it. I'd definitely get the fries again if I were to come back. S E R V I C E Our server was very attentive, refilled our waters in a timely manner and checked up on us frequently. I have been a regular customer at Danville Brewing for a few months, but I am starting to get frustrated with the inconsistent quality of the food and service. The food is usually okay, but most of the time orders come out wrong. I have asked the staff to double-check my order multiple times, but they still get it wrong. I have also noticed that the bacon has been reduced to very thin slices,but the prices haven't changed. The service is also hit or miss. Some of the staff members are friendly and attentive, but others seem like they're just going through the motions. The manager is rarely seen, and when he is, he's not very approachable. I am disappointed with the decline in quality at Danville Brewing. I used to enjoy coming here, but I'm not sure I'll be back unless things improve. Here are some specific things that the restaurant could do to improve: Hire more experienced staff members. No one is against hiring high school kids, but to train them properly is the job and duty of the management. Train staff members on how to take accurate orders. Check orders carefully before sending them out to customers, especially take out customers. Lower the prices, $25.00 for a burger is a lot. Make the manager more approachable. I hope that Danville Brewing will take my feedback into consideration and make some changes to improve the quality of their food and service. read more

Very nice local gastropub in Danville. The building and decor are absolutely beautiful, and the food is pretty good. Nothing I had knocked my socks off, but Danville Brewing is still a good place to grab some food and drink in a great atmosphere. I had the fried chicken sandwich, which was absolutely enormous and served with a heap of tasty fries. The chicken itself was fried very nicely, but the meat lacked flavor. The bun and toppings, including sriracha mayo, were on point, and that balanced out the blandness of the chicken. The dish looks dynamite and tastes good, but still looks better than it tastes. The pretzel bites were a bit too bread-like for my taste, but they were still tasty. The fried Brussels sprouts were pretty good. Overall, this is a nice place with good ambiance and decent food. I really really wanted to love this place. So much that I booked my husband's birthday lunch here. Seriously I must have been a restaurant critic in another life because I literally get depressed when another place doesn't live up to the hype. Okay, the good: 1. Food came out fast and was hot. 2. Server was pleasant and efficient. 3. The price was fair for the area. The "bad": 1. I've had much better burgers 2. I've had much better fries. 3. The ranch looked house made and was too bitter. 4. We made the mistake of sitting next to a beer fridge which was opened and closed constantly in the few minutes we were there before we requested to be reseated. 5. No salt at the table, which the fries sorely needed. 6. Had to request a printed menu. If you're looking for a very casual quick lunch or dinner, with minimal expectations, this place is decent. If you are a hardcore burger enthusiast who orders ranch with her oreos, just stick with what you know. Final comment is we both enjoyed the pretzels with beer cheese, but felt they were a touch skimpy on the salt. Seriously, more salt across the board. I was in the area and looking for a good thirst quenching and meal. The sign outside says to wait for a host to be seated, so I waited.. and fairly soon was greeted with "Can I help you?" -Which made me think I was in the wrong area to be waiting. - "I'd like to be seated? To eat?" I respond. I essentially seat myself outside, and fairly soon am greeted by the waiter. Whomst was thankfully much more kind and friendly. I ordered the Hop Magee (about $7) and the BBQ Salmon (about $28). The Hop Magee is a Hazy IPA and was PERFECT. Crisp. Cold. Perfection, with lots of flavor and little burn making for a great summer day sip. The BBQ Salmon was served with "Seasonal Veggies", along with mashed potatoes and it was OK. The salmon itself was a little dry and heavily relied on the BBQ Sauce for the moisture and flavor. The "Seasonal Veggies" are just.... carrots? and Broccoli? I found that odd but I enjoy all veggies!.. If they're cooked right. The carrots had a yummy oil on the outside but the INSIDE was dry, undercooked, and were served with the leafy green ends? Broccoli was average and you can't mess up mash potatoes. During my stay of roughly an hour I was only checked on twice, the first time being almost immediately after I received my order. Parking is a bit of a nightmare but there is a public lot not far away where you can usually find some spaces. Located in the new development of the the old Danville Hotel . I ordered the money burger with garlic fries and a coconut stout. I sat at the bar, and the burger and fries came on a wood plank. The money burger was very good but having it on a flat wood plank was problematic. I had to ask the bartender for about 6 paper towels to mop up all the burger juices flowing out all over the garlic fries and the bar. I managed. To finish the burger without any of the burger juices on my clothes but had to immediately go the the restroom to wash my hands. The garlic fries had an up charge of $1 . The coconut stout was cool and refreshing to go along with the burger. Plenty of parking with a public lot right across the street. Service was ok . read more

Yassssssss! Danville Brewing is a great place to go for a clean, well-crafted gastropub experience. It's located on Railroad Avenue near the Clocktower and right across the street from a parking lot. PARKING :: Easy and plentiful, as mentioned beforehand ATMOSPHERE :: Pretty packed by the 6pm hour. Brightly lit, clean. BATHROOMS :: They share the bathrooms with the other establishments in the building. It is in a less weather-controlled but indoor environment. Women's restrooms were clean and had two stalls, air fresheners, and Method hand soap. SERVICE :: Great. The servers really know their beers and foods and are happy to make wonderful recommendations. They also come around quite frequently. FOOD AND DRINK :: 1. Oatmeal raisin cookie beer -- gives a nod to a beloved cookie without tasting incredibly sweet 2. Brussel sprouts -- everyone loves these and with good reason. Yes, a bit salty and oily. I would say they are less crispy than the ones served at Sideboard Cafe but equally good. 3. Fish and chips -- these are four stars for me. I wish they had served this with lemon, but alas there was tartar sauce, ketchup, and coleslaw. It was battered lightly and crisply, but the fish was juicy and tender. Vinegar upon request. 4. Fried chicken and mac 'n' cheese -- Fried chicken was cooked so perfectly! I wasn't too keen on the honey garlic sauce. I would have wanted a lot more savory and only hints of honey. The mac 'n' cheese was delicious with an au gratin crumble on top. I have mixed reactions to milk, but this upset my system a little later. I would definitely recommend this place, although the hype is clearly spreading by word of mouth. Crowded local place. Great atmosphere and very well lit with modern layout where the car and tables wrap around the kitchen and bar. A little on the higher end for prices but the food is good and the microbrews and delicious. They do have a flight of beers where you can sample all of the local micros which I found very cool. The only cons? Super loud and the restrooms are really weak for a bar (men's is in essence a single person one). Drinks and food are great here if you can withstand the crowds. read more

We visited Danville for the first time on Saturday. Our daughter-in-law recommended that we walk around the town to see the shops and restaurant choices there. We often look for a brewery or pub and we're pleased to find Danville Brewing Co. We each enjoyed a stout and shared a delicious Black and Blue salad. It had spinach, arugula, apples and blue cheese with the most tender hangar steak we've had. Husband also tried a bowl of the chili which he thought was very good. We had a birthday celebration here at lunch time yesterday. We had fantastic service in their outdoor patio. We tried 3 different beers; Blond, Schwarzbier, and Churro. They were all great. The churro had such a wonderful aroma. For lunch we had the Fried Chicken Sandwich, Chicken BLT, Fiji Melt, and Steak Sandwich. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The only reason for the loss of one star was based on the Steak Sandwich. The steak was a bit tough, the chimicurri sauce needed some more brightness, and the habanero Jack seemed to be missing. The birthday boy was surprised with a warm cookie topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and birthday candle. Yum! What a wonderful finish to our meal. Right in the heart of Danville on Railroad Avenue, with plenty of "free for four hours" street parking as well as a large city lot right opposite. They have plenty of indoor seating (including comfy leather sofas) as well as a nice outdoor patio with tables and chairs. Drinks - 5 stars. Two of my colleagues ordered the beer flight, which is a steal at $12 for six small beers. Happy hour beers are $3.50 a glass which is also a steal, especially when you consider the superior quality. I was debating between the Le Ferme Saison and a coconut stout, and was pleasantly surprised when the server offered me a sample of each. I opted for the saison which was tangy and fresh; the stout was good too but I could not taste the coconut. Food - 2 stars. We ordered garlic fries and Sriracha wings for the table. The former were too garlicky, the latter dry and overcooked, with only a tiny amount of Sriracha sauce dribbled on the plate. I had one of each and stopped. Service - 4 stars. Our server was efficient and kept an eye on us. This tipped my overall review rating from three to four stars. I'll be back for the beer, but not the food! read more

One of my favorite activities on my day off is to explore new neighborhood restaurants. Danville Brewery just opened right across from Pizza Antica and usually have pretty good-sized crowds. It was Friday, and a burger and beer would be perfect! The gastropub is brightly lit inside and has plenty of seating and TVs. They have an open kitchen, while the actual brewery in the back is almost done with construction it seems. Food and drink menu is pretty good-sized. I ordered the Danville Coconut Stout. Since I like beer and coconut, the combination must be good too, right. Here it worked - something like Guinness with a nice aftertaste of coconut. For a darker looking beer, it was actually light and refreshing. 5 stars! For food, I ordered the Money Burger with Garlic Fries. I chose Ciabatta for greater burger stability while sacrificing the soft and buttery texture from the brioche bun option. Patty cooked medium for juiciness. Burger was excellent, especially with several large pieces of Millionaire Bacon (bacon candied with brown sugar and pepper and tasting like a million bucks). Fries were decent, though I would have liked them to be longer. 4 stars. 4.5 stars rounding up to 5. A great place for beer and a bite to eat in a casual, comfortable and clean environment. read more

This place is a bit noisy but the food was really good and service was great. If you need a quieter atmosphere, the patio looked nice. We got wings, tacos and pretzel bites. All were tasty and not your average brew food. read more
