Not bad, but lots of room for improvement. Well, room is actually the problem. This place is way too small, primarily because so much of the space is occupied by the brewing equipment, the bar, and the kitchen. As a result, it is always super crowded, often requiring a 1 hour plus wait. The problem is that it isn't really worth the wait. Frankly, I've only managed to eat/drink here a few times. Other times I didn't have the time or interest to wait for a table. The food and beer I've had here are average. Highlights as I recall are the brussels sprouts and pretzel bites. The latter I suggest you try on HH special. Otherwise they are probably more expensive than a few chunks of bread should be. Kids menu is a ripoff. $9.25 for two generic chicken strips and a fist full of fries. The kids menu mac and cheese is a decent portion but not geared to a child's palette, IMO. But I digress. As a local, I'm sure I'll be back, but it isn't the kind of place I'd go out of my way to visit. read more

My husband and I decided to check this place out on Sun around 4:30pm. Good thing we got there when we did since it's not a very big place, and it was starting to get crowded. We chose to sit at a high top on the left of the bar in the back. My husband had to take a coaster and fold it several times to shove under the table since it was tipping to one side. Ella came by and took our drink order. I asked her for a few beer samples before I settled on a 16oz Eagle Peak IPA $7 which I enjoyed. My husband got a 16oz Groove Street IPA $7, which he too enjoyed. We also ordered the Brussel Sprouts $10 which were delicious! They were cooked perfectly, and came with a small amount of garlic oil for dipping, which added even more flavor. For entrees I ordered the Grilled Fish Tacos $14 for 3 very small tacos. They were a bit fishy, but I did manage to get full, so that was good. My husband got the Habanero Burger and Fries $18 which he thoroughly enjoyed, especially since it was quite spicy. His fries were crispy and yummy. I helped myself to some & dipped them in the homemade ranch dressing. It doesn't stop at the beer here, but the beer is pretty bomb. My handsome hubby and I really love that the names of the beers and cocktails have local and personal meaning to the owners...such as Chux Double IPA named after pops, the 680 martini after...the freeway and the 925 Blonde (if you've been to Danville, you'll get that without explanation!) Special mention to the Caesar salad with the incredible classic Caesar dressing, the poke nachos (O-M-G! So delish!) the Money Burger and the Chocolate Chip Cookie á la mode! In addition to great food and drinks, the decor and vibe are super cool too! I love the mix of modern, rustic and industrial touches, along with the amazing glass front room where the Brewing magic happens. Sports lovers will be pleased with the TVs all around the u shaped bar, that will keep you cheering along with your favorite teams. They're about to celebrate their first anniversary, and the drinks and dishes are getting more refined every day. The owners are totally involved and receptive to feedback. But I promised the owner I would try it again, and this time I was waited on by Lexi at the bar who had a great positive attitude, which makes all the difference! The Brussels sprouts to oily, salty, had a nice crunch, with the lemon make it better, but the salt still overpowers the lemon and the other Brussels sprouts flavors. No plating. Setting: Cool spot with plenty of parking across the street. Love the outdoor patio area but it was too hot. The inside itself was really cool, had a very clean industrial look. There was plenty of room and seating. Love the mural on the back wall. It was very bright and well lit, definitely a place I could see spending some time in if the service, beer and food were good. Service: When we first arrived, we were "greeted" by two hostesses... ok so we weren't greeted, we were stared at. We asked for a table and despite there being several obviously open tables (maybe not enough servers for a busy Sunday afternoon?) we were told there would be about a 30-minute wait. We spotted some free seats at the bar so we opted for those. We sat down at the bar and it took about 10 minutes to be acknowledged by anyone for no obvious reason. We ordered the sampler so we could try everything before deciding what to order a pint(s) of. Once we got the beer it was set in front of us with not a lot of explanation of what everything was and the male bartender walked off. We finally got another female bartenders attention to order the Railroad Fries (see review down below). Fries took another 20+ minutes to come out (for fries?). A food runner (or another server/busser?) brought our order out but neither of the bartenders had been by to check on us and we wanted to order a few pints. We finished our fries and still hadn't been acknowledged by a bartender despite empty glasses. We made the decision to leave and it took a while to get someone's attention for our tab. We paid and left. Beer: 925 Blonde- Tastes a lot like Coors light, if you're into that then this is your beer. Orange Whit- good Belgian Whit, no sign of any orange though Danville IPA- easy drinking IPA. Husband and I were in agreement (that never happens) that this was the best IPA here Rye So Rude- Doesn't taste like an IPA, its much sweeter and I did not pick up on any bittering hops. It had a very strong caramel flavor. Chux DIPA- It was ok, it was on the lighter side. It doesn't taste like any DIPA I've ever had. Hop Magee IPA- nothing remarkable, it tasted slightly hoppier than some of the others. Mucksavage- I enjoyed this one, not because it tasted like beer but because it tasted like cold brew coffee and I LOVE cold brew coffee but I came here for beer. Food: We only stuck around to try the Railroad Fries. Fries should be easy, right? Well this seems to be a struggle for Danville which has been noted in other reviews. The fries themselves were bad, they were crispy on the outside but very mushy on the inside. The toppings were ok but the dressing was very odd and just didn't work. Flavor combinations didn't complement each other. Oh, and they were cold by the time they came out to us. Overall: Cool spot with lots of potential if the customer service was drastically improved and the food was changed up a bit. Beer was average, not terrible but also nothing that knocked my socks off. Maybe they're trying to cater to the non-beer drinker or the American light beer drinkers? Who knows? Anyway, I don't plan to come back or recommending this place when there are far better options not too far away. read more

Some of the worst service we have experienced.. we go here for a birthday dinner sat outside even though it was over 90 degrees no big deal. We had a huge problem getting water at our table, our kids 5 and 3 had empty waters most of the dinner. The kids orders cheseburgers off the kids menu and it came out with no cheese, so the waitress came to the table and we told her the issue.. the girl starts to walk inside to grab two pieces of cheese to bring out lol what? We asked if she could maybe take the plates so the cheese would be melted. Our waitress was either hungover or lazy! It took forever for the most basic necessities, we will not be going back anytime soon.. also, sitting outside feels like detention at grade school, no music or anything.. you can literally hear the people next you eating. We had a great lunch yesterday (Sunday) at the restaurant; everything was perfect and fresh. The service was great, food was delicious and the place was hopping. Because the food was so good yesterday, we decided to place a take out order for tonight's dinner (Monday). We placed the order on line and went to pick up but the food was not ready. We waited for 10 minutes, got food and off we go to enjoy at our daughter's house. Well, sadly the two orders of buttermilk fried chicken were burnt and dried (probably forgot them in the fryer cuz they were basically black) and the two orders of ahi tuna salad were just ok. My boyfriend and I had our date night here. Drove from Hayward to Danville and I must say it was WORTH IT. Parking was a breeze, you can drive around or just go straight into the parking lot and there's bound to be parking. Outside is a cute little fountain! I thought it was nice of them to ask and we went for the first table available. FOOD: I looked to yelp to see what to order and everyone was saying the money burger. When I read about the money burger it didn't seem too appealing.... so my boyfriend got it and I got the truffle burger. I made the wrong choice! -Money burger: 5/5 I should have listened to all my yelpers! It was SO GOOD. The money bacon was amazing, I don't know what they did to this bacon but it was a perfect part of the burger. It tastes like candied bacon on a burger with lettuce and an herb aioli. My boyfriend even added the egg. After I had a bite of this burger I didn't want to go back to my truffle burger. -Truffle burger: 3/5 I love truffle! Whenever I hear truffle i'm sold! BUT! They had blue cheese on the burger and it over powered everything else. I couldn't even taste the truffle. I tried to even scrap off some of the blue cheese but I still couldn't taste it. It was just too overpowering. If you love blue cheese this burger is for you! -Garlic and herb fries: 4/5 In my opinion I couldn't taste much garlic. I wish it had a stronger flavor of garlic. If it says garlic in the name I should be able to taste it in the food. -Truffle fries: 5/5 Now this is what i'm talking about! I can taste the truffle!!! So delicious and the perfect amount, not a huge blast up your nose but just a good enough amount to be satisfied by the taste of the truffle flavor. BEERS: They have a flight of all their beers for $13, I think that's a great deal. Usually a flight is four pours for the same price but here it's six pours! My favorite beer that they brewed is their Danville IPA! SERVICE: It's not just one server and they're the only ones that help you. ALL the workers seem to help each other help the customer. We had about three different servers help us. One took our order, one gave brought our burger some condiments that we requested and the other took our dessert order. The appetizer fish tacos are street sized, perfectly balanced with a generous portion of grilled fish, we thought they were great! The cheeseburger was super juicy, a nice sized beef patty (although under seasoned) on a soft bun with a nice slice of good quality American cheese. Fresh brewed Tropical flavored iced tea. Nailed it, so delicious. Where our experience fell short was our server, who we did not see often enough. Needed drink refills, forgot a side altogether, plates sat, had to grab him as he rushed by for our bill after waiting another ten minutes - MIA most of the time. Upscale well beverages served by bartenders that care about their trade and food that is amazing. One of the best Manhattans in the Bay Area. The " Notch above Nachos" is a crazy concoction of Ahi Poki and whole grain wafers that vaguely resemble a Nacho dish, except for replacing guacamole with a wasabi blend. This dish is a must try! I'm thrilled to have Danville Brewery in town. Their burgers are my goto in town, great. I think there beers are really good. My favorite is an IPA, Chux Double. Great flavors and body. Their Stouts are great too. I don't eat fries often, but I always get them here, fresh cut potatoes! Their fresh hot pretzel bites with cheese sauce is great as an appetizer or at the bar with beer. There salads are really fresh and tasty! I have had their Salmon Quinoa, Ahi Poke and Black and Blue; all were awsome, but here I'm going back for the burger and beer! It is pretty loud. This brewery has amazing food and drinks. The grilled brussels and ahi lettuce wraps are amazing as an appetizer or combined as a meal. I love Ahi so I also tried the Ahi salad which was phenomenal. The Chux beer and bloody mary were both refreshing and perfect for our meal. The staff was pleasant and attentive. Zero complaints on our visit. Came here for dinner on 510 and it was packed. They told us the wait would be 30 minutes for 2 people but it didn't take that long. I had the Money burger with sunnyside up egg on brioche bun with fries and it was delicious! I also had the 680 martini. My husband had the hangar steak with fries and it was also good. I can't remember which beer he ordered but it was not the best-kind of flat. For dessert, we shared a banana bread pudding. While it was good, I was expecting more of a banana bread texture but it was more of a regular bread pudding texture. Overall a very good experience and we intend to be back and maybe try their brunch. read more

A brewery who believes in truffle oil! It was super busy for a late afternoon lunch on a Saturday, but the hostess easily squeezed our group of 4 adults, one child, and a large stroller for twins for a low table without an issue. She was really sweet and accommodating to our very interesting group. The menu has a great blend of different things, from starters to dessert. Their entree options shouldn't leave anyone hungry, even vegetarians. We decided to start with the Housemade Pretzel Bites - dbc beer cheese, sea salt. These little nuggets were delicious. I could have done without the salt, but the cheese was so amazing. For lunch I went for the Money burger, but I subbed out the fresh herb aioli for the truffle aioli. I also asked for no roasted tomato relish. I thought the little gems would be weird, but I didn't notice the sizing difference at all. I also chose to have my burger on the brioche bun. As my side, I went with the truffle fries. If you aren't a sauce person, I suggest you ask for your aioli on the side -- they add with a very heavy hand. Oddly, since I substituted my aioli option, they also gave me a side of it too, even though they doused the burger in it. I may or may not have dipped a few of my already truffled fries in the truffle aioli too, don't judge :p The patties are huge and thick, juicy, and cooked to perfection of how you requested. The flavors of my burger blended perfectly together, after scraping half a pound of aioli off. Others at the table ordered another Money Burger, a kids burger, the burger of a month with an onion ring, and the Mount Diablo burger. Everyone seemed really happy with their decisions. Everyone was very complimentary about their meals. I think across the board we felt that all of the ingredients were really fresh, but that a lot of their options were a little more than us simpletons would have preferred - thus all the adjustments to all the orders. The fellas ordered beers and both ordered a second round of the ones they originally ordered - Chux Double IPA and Tres Diablos. Suffice to say, they liked them! I ordered a glass of the Twenty Rows Cab Sauv and it was pretty tasty, but a little on the price side at $14/glass. It was a great, family friendly spot and the entire staff was really helpful and nice. Also, everything comes out really fast -- they must want to turn over tables as fast as possible. I would love to go back, but remembering that we'll be spending Danville prices will make it easier to open the little black folder that holds your check. Great place after work for a beer or two. The hostess was very friendly and the server was efficient. We had a Money burger with egg and a money burger without we also had the Bahn mi burger. Bahn mi burger was not as good as the Money burger. The brioche buns were dry and needed to be washed down with a beer. The fries were Delicious. They do have a great selection of beers . Lots of tables during Covid. I got a Turkey burger protein style and it was alright. My friend got the chicken sandwich and didn't like it. No gluten free bun or bread options which would be nice but isn't expected. Not much else to say, but TONS of people there and the place next door (peasant and the pear) and almost seemed like a Covid liability. The freaking pretzel bites with beer cheese are off the charts awesome and we usually need to get two orders to keep the peace (why seven units guys? You can't have appetizers that are a prime number because someone always gets screwed). Today, in addition to the pretzel nuggets, we got a kids cheeseburger, fried chicken sandwich, pastrami sandwich, and my personal favorite, the bahn mi burger. All of the food at Danville Brewing is excellent, but the Bahn Mi Burger is in another league. I should try to eat one every day for a week and see if it somehow gives me super powers! Been there once pre-pandemic so wanted to give them another try. Ordered two-servings of their fried chicken which included garlic mash potatoes and seasonal veggies. Added a side of Brussels sprouts to round things out. Order arrives, pop open the boxes, and it was immediately apparent the fried chicken was burned. The photo on the app already looks dark but this was obviously way beyond that. And, as expected, it was dry and had a burned flavor. Not "blackened"... BURNED. They managed to make chicken thighs dry and the breast meat was beyond saving.. Then we notice the "seasonal veggies" that came with the chicken was Brussels sprouts! Wtf? If we had known that we wouldn't have ordered the side of Brussels sprouts. Needless to say, we were not able to finish the side of Brussels sprouts and had to toss them as we had a case of Brussels sprouts overload. Not their fault but they should've listed what was in the seasonal veggies. Two stars for the mashed potato and mushroom gravy. Those were yummy. The patio floor was really dirty and definitely needs to be pressure washed every now and then. As we were sitting there, employees came and swept the patio. Our waiter was so friendly and accommodating. He was blonde and average sized with short hair. He recommended great beer, and we took his suggestion to get the pretzel bites. Everything was really delicious, and their happy hour deal is awesome! There was a while when we didn't get noticed, but it turns out he had been the only server and lots of people came all at once.
