My last pair of shoes was expensive and fell apart after about a year. I turned to Dardano's to help me find something better. Dardano's is one of the few locally-owned shoe shops in the country, and I certainly feel the difference here: the team at Dardano's is patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in making customers happy. I left with the most comfortable shoes I've ever had, as well as a better understanding of how shoes are constructed and what makes some better than others. They forgot the stitching when re-soling my boots. Had to drive back, where they proceeded to completely butcher the soles they just put on by sloppiy throwing stitching on them after the fact. If you have an expensive pair of Goodyear welted boots/shoes, DO NOT take them here. They simply don't have the knowledge/experience to correctly resole proper footwear. read more

Stopped by their spring "sale". I use the word "sale" loosely because a quick Google search revealed that even with sale prices, their shoes are 3 to 4 times the price you can find them online, at DSW, or virtually anywhere else. I was also ignored completely by most of the sales staff. Not sure if it's because I was about 20 years younger than the average customer, but there's really no excuse. Eventually a nice woman asked if I needed help, but by that time I had already determined that this shoe store wasn't the place for me. This is the place to come for quality shoes, great customer service, shoe repair, and all things shoe. I almost gave this 4 stars just because the price point is higher than I would prefer, but that's just because they offer high end brands and high quality shoes. And you won't be back to get a second pair of the same thing for years after you buy it. If you can catch one if their sales, do it. Accessories are reasonably priced. I have gotten multiple pairs of shoes stretched here. It only takes a few days and you get 3 stretches for 1 price, which is a really good deal. They also punch additional holes in belts and purse straps at no charge. There is a reason this place has been around for so long and they have a well deserved reputation for being the best. read more

This USED to be a 5-star establishment, but the things that made them great are now things of the past. **I contacted the business two weeks ago about this situation and have not been responded to. I was not going to post a public complaint, but they obviously do not care about customer service at this shop anymore. I went in a few weeks ago to purchase some low-top hiking boots. I was ignored for the first 5 minutes I was there. One salesperson finally said hello at that point. He had been dusting displays the whole time and just continued dusting. Finally, another salesperson came over and asked what I came in for. I told him about my specific situation - recovering from Achilles and heel surgery and needed special support in order to recover. I told him how I had received amazing service right after my surgery. A different salesperson spent 30 minutes with me watching me walk and feeling the way my foot is formed. He then crafted a special insert that helped tremendously. This salesperson did not offer such service. He only wanted to give me a pre-made insert which didn't work. I asked for a size 13 in one of four styles. He only came back out with 2. Neither fit and he mentioned I could special order another style. I did so but told him I needed them within 7-10 days. He promised that wouldn't be a problem so I paid and left. A few hours later, I received a call from their ordering department and was told that this shoes were on back order and it would be 4-6 weeks. Greatly disappointed, I cancelled my order. I went online to send an e-mail to management about my frustration and saw on their website that you can schedule an appointment with a foot doctor there who will help you with custom fitting. Why was this never mentioned to me??? I guess he was too busy trying to close his next sale. This is very disappointing because they used to do a great job. I don't know if they are under new management or what, but I will definitely not be back. read more

Dardano's is to DSW as The French Laundry is to Taco Bell. Now don't get me wrong. Who doesn't like TB's 7-layer burrito?! (Extra hot sauce, pullease). But I wouldn't take my mom there on her birthday. (Welllll, maybe once I did, but hey, I was in high school and I thought she'd really like the quesadilla:) You go to Dardano's to treat your feet to a celebration. Lots of bio-mechanically quality stylin' foot gear at reasonable but not cheap prices. Since you'll be walking thousands of steps on those babies every day for as long as you've got 'em, I suggest that you invest in your own health and comfort, and check out the different level of service you can get at Dardano's as compared to one of the serve-yourself-shops in town. No doubt about it, if you want some high end foot-lery in Denver, it's either Dardano's, or Murray's or Nordstrom's. And that's about it. Kim, the resident orthotist, rocked my soul(s) and spent literally an hour with me fitting me up for a special order shoe that I need 'cause of a very ugly ski accident I had a few years back. She was willing to sit and touch my tootsies dozens of times to get just the right fit. Now that's some courageous cobblin' for ya. So check 'em out when you're in need of some quality shoes. They were busy and I was guessing they work on commission so I asked for help fitting inserts and one lady helped me and I tried to leave but the sale was too good to not peak at so I did and found a few great shoes. I am super new to the area, I was looking for a cobbler. I am in fact a shoe whore. I had had several pairs of shoes that needed repairing, and while I was at another store shoes came up and I new this would be my chance to ask about a good placed to get my shoes repaired. I am not talking one or two pairs. That is how I heard of Dardano's! The next day I gathered the twelve pairs that needed repair and was on my way. This place is awesome, has great customer service, my shoes are in wonderful condition now. I will always take my shoes there. It was a great find. My husband used their pedorthist years ago when he started having foot problems. This is when Ozzie was there. He was great. So when I started having some real issues with plantar fasciitis I thought this would be the place to go. I have never felt so invisible! I walked in, walked around, looked around at some shoes and orthotics. Noticed two young women waiting on a couple of other customers. So I thought I would just sit down and wait. And wait and wait. No one said hello. No one said, "Be right with you." No one said, "Can I help?" Not one word. But they were able to tear themselves away from their customers to do a couple of returns. I brought a pair of shoes to Dardano's to be resoled and was very disappointed with the experience. The first issue was how the outside of the new leather sole was stained: Way to dark for the shoe style, and so sloppily applied that it got onto the camel colored stormwelt which they could not get all the way out. Even worse was the quality of the stitching on the top part of the sole. Uneven stitching all over, and missed stitches in places. They even caught about 2 inches of the edge of the stormwelt and stitched it down to the sole. They were able to "fix" this, but now the edge of the stormwelt has an ugly ragged patch where the errant stitching permanently damaged it. I returned them twice to fix the mistakes, and when I went back for them the third time I was still unhappy with the work. The person working the pickup counter was very understanding and offered to have the Repair Manager give me a call when he was in. When the manager called he let me know nothing else could be done to fix the shoes, and offered me a 50% refund on the cost of the resoling. I explained I had to go back 3 times for the shoes and they still were not in the expected condition so felt I should get a full refund. He then looked at my history with Dardano's (this was my first time ever resoling a shoe), and informed me the very best he could do was offer me 60% back and mail the shoes. Rather than haggle over percentages on a $70 service I accepted the refund, but declined the shipping. I am still very unhappy with quality of the repair, but even more baffled by the behavior of the repair manager who wanted to negotiate how much of a refund I should get. read more

I absolutely love this store. I'm very budget conscious so I wait until I have a $10 off coupon, their seasonal sales or Shop the clearance section which is in store year round. All of the shoes are well made and comfortable. A lot of brands are also fashion conscious. Dardano's has an excellent shoe repair department. I'm currently have them re-line the sole and seal the cork of my favorite Birkenstock sandals for $55. If you pick the right shoes they can last forever. This is a locally owned shop and the employees care and are helpful. They also have a rewards program. read more

Do not under any circumstances take your luxury handbags here, send them out to Rago Brothers. Legit wanted to butcher my Givenchy Tote. I needed a simple strap repair, repaint. I've had many straps repaired from wear and tear and it looked brand new when I lived in New York. I worked for Michael Kors and we would routinely send bags to Rago brothers to do this simple repair..rude guy told me it would not look the same and wanted to throw some leather pieces on top of the rips. Had been our go-to shoe repair and supply site for decades. Obviously a family business with people who really knew their stuff and were always nice to deal with. Today, after a long absence (maybe a year and a half), took in two pairs of Lowa boots for replacement heels. We've been in South America for a while, with travel and quarantine. One pair had been resoled by Dardano's in the past but the worker I met today insisted it was not possible. (Even an extremely low-tech shoe repair shop in a small mountain town in Peru had done it.) The Lowa website also clearly states the boots are resoleable. The second pair I brought in have also been resoled in a neighborhood shop in Buenos Aires--twice. Same no-go response from the staffer. It's not my style to argue with shop staff...but either they are lazy or misinformed. Is the family still running the shop.? read more

I was recently reminded of the exemplary work Dardano's offers, having brought in a pair of Birkenstock sandals to be re-soled. Obviously, with their being an approved location for this service, I expected nothing but the best, and they delivered 100%. I also owe them a long-overdue thank you for a restoration they'd done about 10 years ago on a pair of steel toe combat boots I'd purchased when I was 16. I'd worn them over many years as painting shoes, and they'd gotten covered with a checkerboard of colors, not to mention had the soles worn down to nubs. When I picked them up about a week later, I thought they'd given me the wrong boots. They were gleaming black, mirror-shined, and looked new. There was no trace of the years/layers of oil paint. The hob-nail soles had been expertly repaired. I couldn't believe my eyes. I still wear them regularly and mention Dardano's every chance I get when folks comment on them. My flat feet were hurting me and my custom orthodics were wearing thin. I was waiting for my health insurance to kick in but I bought an ankle brace and thought to wait it out. Passed Dardanos and decided to give it a try because the usual store bought orthodics don't help me, and I didn't know how I could function at work with the pain the following week. When you walk into Dardanos you are greeted immediately and asked what your needs are. The salesman knew exactly what type of orthodics my flat feet needed. The orthodics were placed in my shoe and my shoes were placed on my feet. Even sitting down, my feet sent a message to my brain giving the thumbs up. Orthodics have improved over the years and this pair was a winner! Only at dardanos can you find these orthodics. It was an instant fix, and it wasn't ridiculously expensive. I guess if you don't make a large amount of money or at least don't look like you do, they don't want your business. I went in to buy a pair of tennis shoes for work outs. the gentleman seem to be confused by what I asked for, he disappeared into the back. I've been looking for a pair of shoes for a formal dinner I had to attend and couldn't seem to find anything that would match my gown. Through a recommendation from a friend I tried Dardano's. They have a fairly nice and unique selection of woman's shoes. I'm giving it 3 stars because after scouring the store I manage to find something that would work but they didn't have my size. I had to ask someone 4 times to help me before I got any assistance. Finally, a young lady came over and immediately said they didn't have the size before she even checked. I told her how desperate I was and that if she was at least willing to double check I would be really appreciate it. Thankfully, she did and they did have my size. read more

They don't pressure you to buy and want you to truly love what you buy. I just returned a pair of shoes there and I always feel a little guilty. Just wasn't what I wanted. I was traveling in Denver recently and had broken one of my comfy old discontinued style Olukai sandals. I needed shoes that support my arches and won't leave my heels hurting. After a trip to Nordstrom and Nordstrom rack and not finding what I needed, my sister in law recommended this store. SOOOO glad I stopped in! I can wear literally EVERY shoe they carry because everything is comfortable AND cute. This is the first store I've ever discovered with such standards. I got a pair of Gabor sandals on sale and they are like walking on clouds. And super cute. You'd never know they were "comfort shoes." They are literally the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn and I'll never go back. Now I come to find out you can only get them in the UK...and at Dardano's! This store is a gem. I will fly to Denver to shop there whenever I need new shoes. You can't do any better. Oh...the shoe repair guys waterproofed my shoes before I left the store. They're pale blue suede with white soles and it was raining every day. I wore the Gabor shoes to hike up Maroon Bells (in Aspen) a couple of days later. People kept commenting that I looked like I was out for a stroll in cute sandals. I kept telling them the shoes were more comfortable than hiking boots. And it rained. And the shoes, thanks to the waterproofing, cleaned up. They still look like new. read more

After having double foot surgery thanks to wearing the wrong shoes for too many years, someone I work with recommended this place. There is so much selection of really great high end shoes. As someone who is used to buying clearance shoes at DSW and setting a personal restriction of about $40 on a pair of shoes, this was a big leap up for me price wise. The quality is undoubtably better though. Turned out that my feet are still not ready for regular shoes but I was able to get a pair of tennis shoes that have great support! I will check them out in a month when I am farther along in my healing. The staff was very friendly and helpful and really take the time to measure you and make sure the fit is good. read more
