Went to Daredevil for the first time last night. They have a large patio area and also had a band playing. It was great atmosphere and vibe. This particular night they were having a food truck contest so you were also able to try different foods to pair with your beer. Staff, music, and beer were great. Glad to have a nice place to relax and have craft beer in the Speedway area. The Rip Cord and vacation were my favorite. read more

Ordered a few curry hotdogs on Sunday afternoon when the place was almost empty. Despite just a few people inside and outside, the service was super slow: it took an hour (!) to get our food. You'd expect hotdogs can be done in 5-10 mins but not 1 hour. Hence, the star rating. The food was ok and priced reasonably. Snack board was actually good. The food menu itself was very limited. Main Street Speedway is growing so quickly, and I am so glad to see it! Daredevil has become quite the staple in the community, and I was excited to visit for the first time this week! The breadsticks are amazing, the pizza sucks. Plus, the wait to receive the pizza was way too long, over an hour. In addition, they have tip recommendations of 20, 25, and 30% on the screen. Asking for a 30% tip when I walk up to the counter to order, walk up to pick up my food, and have to serve my own water if I want any is a bit cheeky. But the breadsticks are amazing. read more

Such good pizza and pretzels! Super tasty. I should have done more research because I didn't realize it was 21 and up for inside, but we were able to sit out side. I haven't written a negative review in years. However, this one earned it. We saw the brewery had 4+ star reviews on yelp. Not even close. We waited 50 minutes for this burnt flavorless pizza. After 45 minutes of waiting, I thought they might have lost our order. No, they had a 4 pizza order before mine. I asked to pay for my beers and delete the pizza. Had to wait another 5 minutes for an answer as he brought it out. Opened it up at table. It was burnt. Too frustrated to deal with him again. Won't ever go back. Beers were OK. Atmosphere very nice. Visited Daredevil Hall in the Ironworks Hotel complex. Interesting space architecturally. Would love to stay there. Food was quite good, as were the brews I sampled. For dinner, I had the crispy brussel sprouts and the Midwest Fish Fry. Both were excellent, especially the sprouts. Outstanding pommes frites to go with the fish, which was also very good (good batter and cod). Much better than the fare that many brew pubs serve. So I left satisfied. Visited a couple days later before leaving town (visiting for a conference). Just had some brews then. The Hop Pilot IPA was a favorite. Very good NE IPA. Great recommendation from our server. Also had the Bourbon Barrel BT JWP (not the nitro). Excellent stout. Very satisfied with both food and drink here. Would visit again if ever in Indy. read more

I want to give this place a higher rating because the building is so awesome, but I just can't. First, the good: The indoor/outdoor areas are great. Plenty of seating, open and airy. Very industrial and modern. There's a large outdoor patio/yard area on the side where food trucks can park and bands play. Beers for on-site consumption are sold by the pint and run from $4 to $5. Now, the bad: They only have 3 beers generally. An IPA, a double IPA, and a seasonal. Their signature beer is the Liftoff IPA. You can find that all over Indianapolis. The Rip Cord Double IPA is much harder to find. And good luck trying to get your hands on the seasonal (today was the Vacation Kolsch) anywhere but the taproom. The Liftoff IPA is a pretty standard IPA and is very drinkable. The Double IPA was a little rough around the edges. It's a shame because on Thursdays they tap a firkin with an experimental beer. Today it was the Rip Cord finished with citra hops (and 1 other hop which I don't remember) and was much smoother than the Rip Cord. The Vacation Kolsch is intended to be their summer drinking beer. It is very flat and just reminds me of a your typical macro light beer. Definitely a "lawnmower beer". They can produce many more beers than they currently do due to the size of the production area. They know this too as they are only using 4 of the 12 available taps. You can sample any of the beers for free and either buy pints to drink there or to-go beer. You can bring your growlers (more on that later) or half-growlers (aka bullets, howlers) in and have them filled with any of the house beers. One neat thing they have that you don't see very often is the availability of crowlers (canned growlers). They have a machine that will fill and seal a 32-oz can on site for ultimate freshness. Of course it's not reusable. Growler fills are $12 which is a little high for a house beer, but this is how they really screw you over: A little background: Indiana law says that anytime you refill a growler, it has to be labelled with the place you had it filled. Most breweries consider this the cost of doing business and just slap their sticker on your growler, no problem. However, at Daredevil, if you don't use one of their Daredevil-branded growlers (which they will be more than happy to sell you), they will charge you a $1 non-Daredevil growler sticker fee to slap their sticker on your growler. I have been to dozens of microbreweries and this is the first time I've ever seen this. Main St in Speedway is growing like crazy and this is sure to be one of the anchor attractions. I just wish Daredevil had better/more beers and they didn't try to nickel and dime you along the way. read more

Pet friendly does NOT describe this place at all. They have two tables (one in the direct sun - no shade - no umbrella) on the far side of the grassy area that's "for pets". Even though they offer a huge outdoor space, pet owners and their animals (even service dogs), are relegated and cordoned off to this space. Definitely won't be here again - and really, really disappointed about that! Edited (after reviewing the owner's comment): Service dogs (and their owners) - AKA: A service dog "team" should be treated as all of your other patrons, as per law. They don't get placed in what you designate as a separate pet area, so it's "best" for all guests. You might find it useful to check on the ADA laws for service animals, so in the future your business is in compliance with this aspect. read more

Great local beer tasting room in the heart of Main Street in Speedway! Love the Lift Off IPA and other seasonal IPAs. Service is good, location is great and it's a nice spot to spend a casual weekday summer evening with friends! Love the vibe here. They have a large outdoor area with a stage and garage doors connecting the inside to the outside which I am always a fan of! We stopped in while we waited for a table at a restaurant down the street. I ordered the Muse which is a Belgian beer and my husband ordered the Race Day Lager. Both are pretty light beers, mine had some hints of fruity flavors but they were not super strong. Both were refreshing because it was pretty hot outside. They had a tent set up for shade and standing tables. We have gotten flights in the past but since they're just reopening inside after the pandemic they didn't have that option this visit. They also serve food but we didn't get any so we'll be back to try some of that too! They do allow dogs in the outdoor spaces. read more

Lift off is my jam! I also love speedway. If you're a fan of Indy Car, beer, and cute neighborhoods, Daredevil is a great spot. Speedway's Main Street is one out of an modern small town. Pretty neat place! Because of the high ceilings, it must be hard to heat and was cold inside. They do not have official tours but the bartender offered to show us the brewery equipment in the back. One of the girl bartenders came up to us at first and when we said we hadn't been here before, she just gave us a menu and walked away. She then proceeded to plug in her phone, sit at the bar, and pay on her phone. She came back and we said we would do a flight. She put a cup with the papers and pencils up on the bar to make our choices then walked away again. The male bartender then came over and started from scratch. He was excellent! He made some amazing choices so we didn't even need to look at the menu. He even gave us an extra sample at no added cost. Such great service! read more

Also had a French dip with an incredible horsey sauce and a PB and J (deluxe edition) that was to die for! The cranberry walnut bread that it was served on was out of this world! Which I was told is sold at Amelia's local bakery. Service was a bit confusing, menus on tables but no one came around to take an order. No instructions on how to place order, just walked up to "bar" then did not receive a "check" so again just walked up to register and said we're done. My husband enjoys many of the Dare Devil beers. Our last visit revolved around my family who were visiting and not very familiar with craft beers. They feel in love with Race Day at 1911 and wanted to check out the brewery. The bartender was friendly, knowledgable about the beers and great about samples for the first timers. The interior isn't huge but comfortable with several tall tops and bar seating. Outdoor seating is the way to go if the weather permits. Have a cold beer, play corn hole and enjoy the gated patio area. We haven't been often but that will change now they offer a limited menu. Once upon a time it was carry in or delivery from Barbecue & Bourbon. We never found the appeal of carrying in food. If I carry in I'll carry home. The weekends, and certain game nights, are usually very busy and we see a full patio if weather permits. It is a great addition to Main Street Speedway and love sharing info about Dare Devil with race fans. Their always surprised Speedway has their own craft beer brewery. My friend and I stopped in for dinner yesterday as first time visitors. We made the haul up to Speedway, having been familiar with the Daredevil IPA for many years, and anxious to try the rest of their selection. The beer was fantastic, but they were out of what I initially wanted to try. The fantastic waitress suggested her favorite, though admitting it wasn't what I described my taste being. I'm glad I decided to give it a shot! It was the Muse and it was very fruity and fantastic for a hot summer day! I finished off with the stout that tasted heavily of dark chocolate and finished with a coffee aftertaste that was a great palate cleanser. For the meal, we split a Daredevil pizza, pub style. The crust was extra crispy and the sauce was acidic which went very well with the cheese. The sausage was in big, hearty chunks, and the banana peppers were diced fine which distributed the flavor well. Everything on the menu was priced appropriately and clearly had thought put into it. They only lost a star for there not being a single lighter item on the menu to balance out the big, bold flavors. We will be back! read more

Big fan of Daredevil Brewing Co. They have great brews, a fun atmosphere, and good snack options. Daredevil is right off of Main Street speedway so it's a great way to start or end a day at the track or even for a quick stop after dinner at one the many delicious restaurants on main street. As soon as you walk into Daredevil the yummy brewery smell hits you immediately. The drink lists are plastered throughout the place while listing how hoppy a beer is and alcohol level. They also have the snacks listed throughout. We didn't try any but I'm eager to go back. They were priced well! After ordering at the counter you can choose to sit inside or outside. I think ordering inside gives you a better chance at having a waitress check up on you (when we visited it was quite hot, so we were the only people outside). Regardless, really enjoyed this place. Highly recommend sitting outside. They have plenty of picnic tables plus a few games and umbrellas. Looking forward to becoming more of a regular here. read more

I ordered their pizza for delivery from this place this past Friday, Sept 22, 2023. By reading the reviews. I thought it may be good pizza. This was may first time ordering from this place. It was delivered and I discovered the pizza is slightly burnt. I have eaten the pizza and shortly have to go the the bathroom several times for bowl moments. Unsure how this place has such a high rating unless folks on the west side of Indy have low standards. It's much more competitive on the north side and I guess we have higher expectations. Our service was lousy. Lady took our order once and never came back after the first round. I didn't see where we were only aloud one round of beer but maybe that's a thing here. Went inside to settle up and move on to a different pub/bar and they attempted to double charge us. After speaking to the rest of our group we realized they double charged us. After going back inside to raise hell they gave me cash back but it makes me think, if people are drinking they may not realize it until it's too late which seems like a shady practice to me. I had heard about daredevil brewery and wanted to stop by and try some of their beers. I like visiting breweries and I also like the wave of wort in the air. This brewery is a must stop if you're in the area I cannot say enough great things about it. Service was great and their beer was outstanding. Daredevil has the best beer in Indiana. As someone who is a snob about Kolsch in particular - I would venture to say that the Vacation kolsch is the best around.
