Always good food, nice ambiance and service at Dario's. I used to live close to this restaurant and frequent here so I was missing it and decided to stop by for lunch. The best seafood, fresh veggies and drinks on this side of town. Don't skip it!

I remember visiting this business all the way back when it was the original home of their Tex-Mex concept Alicia's. As a steakhouse they've done some nice work to change the concept to feel more mature and intimate with the lighting and decor. I'll say that it loses at little luster when you see wine boxes about and carpeted floors in a restaurant never win me over. We cycled through a couple of servers, which ranged from standard politeness to slightly cold in tone, but never rude. It's much easier to just park one waiter with us so we know who to look for when questions come up. We visited for a Pre-Christmas dinner with the in-laws and I think there was enough variety within the menu. We had a 2 yr old and a picky Gen Z'er and they were able to order comfortably, alongside myself as a foodie Millennial. The steak options seemed quite upscale, I ordered an Akaushi Ribeye that was cooked exactly to temp and was salted quite nicely. This was the standout for me, and much of the consensus of the table. Beef was good but sides lacked seasoning, mainly just being under salted. Overall I think they service the steak crowd well in an area that probably won't support a super high end steakhouse. Some improvements are possible, but I think the steaks themselves make the price worth it.

Extremely unprofessional behavior by the manager. My girlfriend and I made the mistake of dining here for our valentines dinner. When our check arrived, I used the QR code on the check to pay my bill on my phone. I tipped 60.00 and attached the screenshot of my receipt. I was also emailed a copy of my receipt and attached that as well. Clearly, I tipped. Shortly after leaving, the manager called me (I booked through OpenTable so they have my number) and accused me of not tipping. I offered to send him the screenshot of my receipt, but he declined and accused me again of not tipping. My girlfriend and I were taken back by this baseless accusation since he basically called us cheap. Since he could tell I was upset by this, he gave me a fake apology but still said his records show I didn't tip. When I offered to send proof again, he still said no. Such childish behavior from a "manager." If you decide to dine here, do not use the QR code on the check to pay or you will receive a call from the manager accusing you of not tipping. To the manager who refused to see proof of my tip, see attached. If you and your staff are not able to see a tip when a customer pays the way I did, you should change your system. Pretty ridiculous from a "fine dining" restaurant. Will never return.

Great steakhouse in Cypress. The service was great; everyone was friendly and everything on our order came out perfectly. It's a cozy place with bar seating and a more intimate dining room area that would be perfect for smallish group dinners / events. My favorite part about the place was that there were multiple delicious gluten free options that my wife, who is Celiac, could eat. The beef short rib was placed on a bed of mashed potatoes and, in my opinion, that was the star of the show. The filet was cooked perfectly and the creme brulee was great. We'll definitely be back.

Went here for a birthday, I got the 6oz filet mignon and it was cooked perfectly. Also got the mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts for my side. The mashed potatoes were great; however the brussel sprouts were a little on the harder side. The service was fast and the ambiance was nice and cozy. Still good overall and I would go again.

Living in NW Houston, it's been hard to find good food that rivals the inner loop. This one was finally one we could declare a bonafide find. It's so refreshing to find a place that takes special care for how they prepare each item. Everything was cooked in that way you know they didn't just cook mindlessly, but doing so in a way that ensured each texture was perfect and taste was perfect with every bite b

Not sure why this place has low reviews. The customer service was great and our waiter was very attentive. The manager even came by to make sure we were enjoying our meal. Even though they initially got my order wrong, they promptly fixed it. I definitely plan to go back. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great!

This week, I visited Dario's for the first time as the occasion was to celebrate Houston Restaurant Weeks with 2 friends for lunch. It wasn't too busy when we arrived so getting a table was easy. It's a nice looking restaurant inside with some outside seating also available and features a full bar. From the HRW menu, I chose the Boston salad followed by filet mignon tips for the main and then chocolate cake to finish all for $25. The salad arrived less than 10 minutes later and with the first bite I noticed it was served at room temperature and not cooler like normal. The salad tasted good and had more nuts like pecans than average. The salad was fine except for the temperature (3). The filet mignon tips were served over mashed potatoes with green beans. I liked the taste however some of the beef tips were chewy with some sinew while other tips were tender (3). Not your typical filet mignon experience. Finally the dark chocolate cake was rich, flavorful and delicious (5). The frosting was perfect. Loved it! Finally during the meal our waiter seemed to stay busy with a couple of other nearby tables but not very visible at ours. For some reason other restaurant staff took more care of us than he did. This included the manager on duty. The 3 of us agreed that we didn't feel the love as much as we would have liked. I was debating on whether this was a 3 or 4 star Yelp experience and could have gone either way. When my bill arrived I noticed a charge of $4.15 for the iced tea I ordered. $4.15 for iced tea? Seems a little excessive to me. $4 is too high to begin with and then why add another .15c??? That made my 3 star decision easy. Looking at their regular menu it appeared that many of their entrees are a little expensive especially for the area. I might return however with their prices I would want to be sure my experience was commensurate for what I paid for.

We got there during a busy dinner hour and the restaurant was half full. Initially everything was great. I was pushing him in a wheelchair and a young lady came to open the door for us. Then she disappeared. The hostess sat us by the entrance because there aren't any tables with big space for a wheelchair. She had to ask a male employee seemed to be a leader for approval. Not sure why there were so many lights and the restaurant was dark like a dungeon. I had a hard time seeing the menu. I ended up taking a picture and lightening it on my phone in order to read it. My friend already knew what to get. He seems to be a regular here. We ordered a strawberry lemonade for him and I got a cup of hot water. That water became a lifesaver. I called it holy water because my friend had to rinse the stained utensils in the cup. For me, I couldn't really see the dirty forks because it was too dark. They brought us a loaf of bread and a scoop of butter in a cup. I immediately looking for the utensils wrapped in a cloth napkin. There was a gigantic knife and 2 forks. I didn't see any butter knives. So, I cut the bread with steak knife and used it to spread butter. I really don't know how other customers would eat the bread. Because it's too dark in there. I ordered Lemon Garlic Chicken with Brussels Sprouts and mashed potatoes as sides. I guess the waitress had hearing problems. I got broccoli instead. I pointed at the menu especially said BRUSSELS not BROCCOLI. Hello? Do you need a hearing aid? I didn't complain because the chicken was f*cking salty as hell. So does the butter on the mashed potatoes. I think they trying to kill me. My friend seemed to like his dish. Except, he asked for a loaded potato and immediately changed to mashed potatoes. He got the big potato sitting in the plate and waitress rushed over to replace it with a mashed potato. He asked for steak sauce for his lamb chop. It was odd because it was Parmesan crusted already. I don't know if I would come back. Or, I'll order something that is easier to pronounce and with a big picture. And, I'll ask for steamed vegetables with butter on the side.

For dinner I had the Filo's Filet the steak was absolutely cooked to perfection. Not pictured was the side salad that was served in abundance and very fresh. My son had the Renegade Sirloin another generous portion cooked to perfection. He ordered his dinner with a baked sweet potato and side salad. We completed dinner with their scrumptious Strawberry Shortcake. While I had leftovers from dinner I wasn't leaving without a few bites of this tasty creation. The restaurant was busy, however, we were seated in a reasonable amount of time, our server was pleasant and attentive. Great meal, great service, and all around great experience. This restaurant definitely aims to please. I was being very specific about what I wanted for my ribeye steak tonight; waitress Jessie was awesome and listened carefully to my requests. And then to make sure that I was absolutely happy, she brought Chef Kenneth to the table to discuss what I was looking for. Kenneth returned from the kitchen with three beautiful-looking ribeye steaks and we discussed which one would give me the best dining experience. He does some of the butchering himself so he knew exactly what I was looking for. I ended up being served the most fabulous Wagyu steak I've had in a very long time. Unlike the other steaks that can have a seasoning on them, the Wagyu is just salt and pepper and then is served with a beautiful compound butter slathered all over it. They make that butter in-house and it has wine and shallots and bone marrow and other wonderful stuff. Trust me, it's amazing! I ordered extra on the side and poured that all over the top of the steak. Delicious!! Sometimes little things count and it was served with grilled onion that was tasty. I could have had a side of mashed potatoes or asparagus, but I decided to treat myself and try the mac-n-cheese instead. Half of that food was my lunch the next day, so I left enough room for dessert, where my choice was the apple pie bread pudding with cinnamon roll ice cream. That was nice and moist and I enjoyed it. Unfortunately, the food also fell short of expectations. In particular, I would not recommend the mussels. The flavor was unpleasant and left a very bad aftertaste, making them one of the least enjoyable dishes we ordered. Good customer service isn't just about enforcing rules--it's about how those rules are communicated. From the moment we entered, we were treated like special guests. The ambiance is rich, but not overdone or stuffy. Simply classic and relaxing. Our booth felt private and unhindered by conversations of nearby diners or wait staff bustling past. Our cocktails were perfect. The calimari we ordered as an appetizer was probably the most tender and delicious either of us have ever had. And when our burgers arrived, I was so happy. It was exactly what I had set my mind on when selecting my birthday dinner experience. The blend of brisket and chuck was absolutely delicious, set atop a perfectly buttered toasted bun, with some crispy onion straws on top. And the fries... oh my! When it showed up I was amazed by the large pile of food. As I began to eat though, I started to get disappointed. I cut into my fried egg expecting it to run all over my plate, but it seems like it was cooked somewhere between over medium and over hard. I was looking for tasting the hot honey, which appears to be under the dish as opposed to on top of it. I was looking forward to a soft fluffy biscuit, but it too was over hard. The Chicken was well cooked, a bit thin, and I'm not sure that the breading tasted anything more like Captain crunch than it did any other breading. However every time I cut into it the breading kind of just fell off into the gravy. The gravy and potatoes were redeeming, with good flavor gravy and well cooked potatoes. Overall, it wasn't bad, I ate it all, I just expected better for my $17.
