Cozy, dark interior with all the chill vibes you'd ever want. Dark Moon is a high-end coffee shop that offers an elegant approach to serving up your caffeine fix. Select fresh pastries are from CraftKitchen down the street. Service is a bit slow (waited about 15mins to receive our drinks), but staff is very polite and they're new to the neighborhood so give it time and they'll finesse the kinks. I usually don't go to coffee places without drive thrus (3 small children) but I was early for picking two of them up nearby at camp, and the littlest guy was sleeping so I figured I could park by the door and run in and order. I asked the barista to recommend something (just based off me wanting a iced late-no info) I'm not entirely sure what he said it was salted Carmel oat milk? Very quaint coffee shop with chill, woodsy vibes, super friendly and helpful employees (seriously the best customer service of any coffee shop out here), and delicious coffee. I went in to finish an assignment, wanted to settle in and as soon as I sat down,I felt very uncomfortable as the barista was staring at me with a very mean look. I got a Panamanian pour over and it was maybe the worst cup of coffee I've ever had in my life. This is an honest review. The coffee was served luke warm and tasted like watered down barley tea. I typically drink my coffee black, sometimes I use a half packet of stevia. The barista explained pour overs were served without sweeteners or cream. After the first sip and realizing I didn't like it, I asked for stevia. She explained they weren't allowed to give sweeteners with pour overs. I don't really understand how a coffee place can dictate to someone how they can drink their coffee??? I ended up using a small amount of stevia I found in my purse, it didn't help. After about 3 sips I told her she could take it away I wasn't going to drink it. She asked if I ever had pour over before. We take coffee seriously in our house and have an entire coffee station to make everything from drips, pour overs, and espresso drinks at home, but I like to try coffee places on the weekends and relax. She noticed I put a little stevia in it and said, that's why they don't recommend sweeteners. I was like, it was awful before the stevia I was just trying to make it tolerable and couldn't. I wasn't mean and kinda laughed when I explained that I wasn't going to torture myself over a $7 cup of coffee and force myself to drink it. She wasn't rude either and it's not her fault the coffee was terrible and the water temp set isn't high enough. And in the baristas defense, she did offer me a refund or asked if I'd like something else without me even asking. I ended up leaving with a to go drip, which while nothing extraordinary was far better than the pour over. I felt bad and put $2 in the tip container and left. The place was empty and I understand why now, and it has nothing to do with it being in a tucked away location. read more

The experts are the guys and gals that work at Dark Moon Coffee Roasters. I swear, they are so passionate about their craft that I can spend hours just listening to them talk coffee. Dark Moon offers other drinks as well as pastries from CRAFTkitchen. But I come here for their cold brew options. Yes, they have options. While most roasters have just one cold brew, it's not uncommon for Dark Moon to have 3 or more cold brews in house. I can always rely on Dark Moon to have a cold brew that fits my current mood. Some days I'm in the mood for a more chocolatey cold brew. Some days it's nuttier. On a rare occasion, I will opt for one of their fruitier cold brews. And that's why I love Dark Moon so much, I can choose my cold brew based on what I'm craving or how I'm feeling. I can also choose between a single origin or one of their blends. Their cold brews are always strong, smooth, and less acidic. I don't live close by and that may be a good thing for my bank account. When I'm in the area, I'm definitely stopping by to taste what brews they have available. Dark Moon is the best!! read more

This is one of my favorite roasters in town, and I want to love this place but...the vibe in the actual shop is, at best okay and, at worst, sucks. It's not a warm or friendly environment that makes you want to go back. Also, I think that it's pretenious to not put sugar and cream out and refuse it when customers ask. If I pay $7 for coffee, lemme freaking drink the way I want. Or if you want to outright refuse a side of cream to customers, don't buy a glass door fridge that shows you have gallons of half and half on hand. read more

I wish I could give Dark Moon a higher rating, but it simply failed in many categories. We frequently visit coffee shops while we are on vacation and My family and I decided not to go to our favorite coffee spot today, but instead try Dark Moon. As we walked in there was only one person working as the cashier and as Barista. Fortunately, we just made it in before a large crowd came in and the poor guy was trying to do it all. This resulted in a long wait for everyone. The thing that really bothered me was when my daughter ordered a half-Caf coffee. The employee simply said " We don't do that here". Really? You are a coffee shop with a roaster. You probably do more than the average coffee shop. The store looked clean, however there were many piles of roasted beans laying in and around the seating area. The coffee was just so-so and I just didn't get a good vibe or felt welcome in this place. Save yourself the time and go elsewhere. There are some better coffee shops in Henderson. read more

Order: Pour Over Price: $6.50 Positives: One of the best pour overs I've ever had, the baristas are INCREDIBLY knowledgeable and happy to share the process with you Negatives: Still really wish I could get an iced pour over out here but it doesn't detract from the amazingness that is Dark Moon tldr: Dark Moon is an incredible coffee shop and the best we visited in the larger Vegas area. Their beans are impeccably roasted, their staff is insanely knowledgeable and more than willing to help, they have a variety of very unique drinks, and their seating is fantastic for working. Short of not making iced pour overs I think Dark Moon is practically perfect. Thoughts: Still day 2 (though we came back on day 3 twice), and stop number 8 on our coffee, food, and desert tour. Dark Moon was our post lunch coffee stop and blew us away. We'd already been to several great coffee shops but Dark Moon took it to a whole new level. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable, walking us through the process and tasting notes for several of the beans, explaining their favorites and why they were their favorites. Later, while we were sitting and getting some work done, we even overhead one of the barista's walking a group of people through their entire process of brewing a pour over as he did it. I've never seen that done at a cafe before, and it didn't seem like it was a chore for him at all. The staff of Dark Moon seem to genuinely love coffee and want all their customers to love it too (I'm on team love coffee if it isn't obvious). While on this trip we only tried a pour over, during the course of our visits we had an espresso and tonic, two other pour overs, this insane smoked blueberry magical potion drink, and a cappuccino. The only one that wasn't some the best coffee I'd ever had was the cappuccino, the espresso was a little dark for my tasted and didn't have a depth of flavor that I've had in some other places. Everything is was ridiculously good, the pour overs all had their own unique, complex flavors, you knew that you were drinking a different cup of coffee each time. The espresso and tonic was a drink I had never tried before and is now one of my new favorites. It's a crazy mix of tangy bitterness from the tonic and punch from the espresso. It's honestly a bit hard to describe but it's an amazing drink that I would highly recommend you try, unless you just don't like tonic water. The blueberry drink thing was more alchemy that coffee I think. It involved smoking a glass, mint, blueberries, espresso (duh), and some other things I think? While it would never really replace my go to coffee it was an incredibly unique coffee experience. Honestly I think you can really only get this level of greatness at a coffee shop with an intense level of care and commitment to your craft, and Dark Moon drips care and commitment. You feel it when you walk in and talk to the staff, and you taste it in every sip of coffee. Dark Moon isn't just the best cafe and roaster I visited in Vegas, it's one of the best coffee shops I have every been to, and I've been to a lot. 6 of us met at Dark Moon this morning for coffee. 3 of the 6 have been before and really think their coffee and tea drinks are great, and never had any complaints with service. Today the service sure was different! One of our group ordered a cup of black coffee which was drawn from a large metal warmer. Just a sip into it he told us it had a very bad aftertaste, so we also tried it and absolutely agreed. All of us suggested he take it back to the counter and let the server know, which he did. The treatment he got was totally unacceptable and what he was loudly told are things you would never expect: "it's fine for everyone else but maybe not for your palette", and "I try everything I make and it's fine"! "I'll make you an Americano this time only. This is the perfect example of what you should never say to any customer. How about - I'm sorry, I'll try it, and....Did he ever think that possibly the warmer might have had some residue which mixed with the coffee giving it such a bad aftertaste? Do you think maybe you've just lost 6 customers which could easily have been impressed by making 1 expresso drink to replace what 3 of us tasted in the black coffee? What bothers me most is that 3 of us are return customers and we were introducing 3 more that we meet with every week for coffee- now all of us are disappointed and won't be back for quite a while. read more
