My biggest complaint.. their prices .I think they are confusing card vs cash and egg additions and all that rack up your bill and if it says for example 15.... I'm paying 19-21 n then still needing to leave a tip. N I always tip 20%+ so now I'm paying way to much.... Yes the service is phenomenal but the pricing needs to be easier if I'm paying 19$ for it I wanna know before hand I don't mind I just wanna know. read more

Darrell's has solid diner meals and I got huge piece of delicious cake. We had attentive service even though there were only two servers for the restaurant. I got the Reuben with sweet potato fries. I have to say I was worried when the fries were kind of dark but they were hot and crisp. The sandwich had plenty of filling and was a good version of this classic. I saw a pink cake that was under a cloche and I asked about the flavor. Our waitress explained that it was the first time they made this recipe for strawberry cake. I got a giant piece and it was dusted with some kind of freeze dried strawberry powder that amped up the flavor. Food quality. I would eat here again if I was in the area. Prices are fair. The bargain was the cake for $4. They have daily specials and they had run out on the day we stopped by. Service was good and the food came out pretty quick. Darrell's is a local chain and they have a few locations. Ambiance is typical diner but they have these TV screens that roll local ads on repeat which is sort of distracting. We visited this restaurant before attending an internment at Bushnell National Florida Cemetery. It was convenient and not too far away. All of the reviews looked good, so we had positive expectations. It was not busy when we got there, but it certainly got busy afterwards! Our waitress was friendly and competent, helping everyone at all of her tables to the best of her ability. When we got our food, Husband's was hot and mine was the right temperature. Husband had the country fried steak on a bun and liked it. He did wish that it had more mayonnaise or was served without the bun and had white gravy. The onion rings were very good. I had the tuna salad on wheat bread with a side of coleslaw. I only ate some of the bread, because the tuna salad was good without it. The coleslaw was creamy and tasty. The prices were extremely reasonable. There was only a slight up charge for credit cards, and we decided to use our credit card. Service was good. The food was good. I had a good solid, hamburger and delicious onion rings, my husband had what he called the best ham and cheese omelette he's ever had in his life. I ordered the country fried steak, which was pretty standard as far as country fried steak goes you know the type, powdered gravy mix, yuk. My wife ordered an omelette which she said was fantastic. Great stop on our way north from the beach. We always look for non chain restaurants using I -exit. Came across this little gem. You can tell it's where the locals go. Service was great and food was served hot!! Straight from the grill. My husband got breakfast. Over easy eggs cooked perfectly. I had broccoli cheddar soup and onion rings. Found this quaint little diner on our way to Ocala today. Directly off 75, less than 2 minutes from interstate. Food was a little slow coming out. But they did have a sign saying "now hiring - cook" so we kind of expected that. Overall experience was slow. Taste of food was MEH. Prices were decent. Service from wait staff was on point. I met up with a friend down visiting her in-laws in late September to exchange birthday presents and catch up on life. The restaurant was not busy and did have some regulars there. We had lots of coffee and the waitress gladly refilled our cups as we visited. We both had the Mountain Scrambler ( biscuits, scrambled eggs, country gravy and cheese) with hash browns. The food is great, the wait staff are usually awesome, the only negative is kitchen staff is hit or miss. Sometimes your food comes out faster than you'd expect, other times you could have gone back there and cooked it yourself faster... We came because of the name. Very cute name! When we first walked in we didn't know whether to wait or seat ourselves. There wasn't any signage to direct us what to do. We figured out we had to seat ourselves. Then it took a few minutes longer than what felt normal for someone to even acknowledge us, bring us menus and ask for drinks. We also felt the wait for our food was longer than normal but it did come out very hot and made to order. We ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and the chicken quesadilla. It was bland really. Nothing to write to home about. They didn't really check on us too much throughout the meal and the lady who brought us the credit card slip to sign seemed in a bad mood. We just had breakfast at this little diner. We walked in and the place was packed with lots of people chatting over their coffee. Looked like we'd chosen a local favorite. Took us five minutes to have a server ask about our drinks after the three of them argued about who was responsible for our table. They said someone was getting ice because their machine was broken so my husband ordered his ice tea figuring ice was arriving shortly (it never did). 45 minutes later our breakfast finally was served after my husband went and asked if that was our order that was sitting on the counter while our server was bussing tables and cashing others out. Thank goodness the food was good or we would have completely struck out this morning. Had eggs over easy, hash browns and bacon with wheat toast and coffee. The eggs were perfect, the hash crispy and bacon not as crispy as I would have liked it, but good. Waitresses are rude and food is awful. The soup was cold and I asked for it to be warmed up and was told that wasn't an option.
