Love this place. The chef and the servers are super cool. Small, cozy place. I normally enjoy hanging out at the bar and letting the chef run the show since I basically love everything. Never had problems when ordering to go or dining in and they have friendly service. He has always been a gracious host and has treated us with genuine love. Sheesh. This is just proof that this restaurant BRIBES people into good reviews in exchange for free appetizers. Sit down, I'm about to hit you with the facts as they truly are. FIRST OF ALL, the place is ridiculously tiny. Picture your grandma's living room. The reason this matters is because 9/10 chance there won't be seating available for you. As in, there's maybe 15-20 chairs. Also, parking is literally 5 spots, so you're stuck on the street parking. Ok, moving on. Secondly, the food was at it's best: MEDIOCRE! They try to mask using cheap ingredients by drowning almost everything in mayonnaise, tempura, or onion. Bonus: they take forever to come get your order, half pay attention to what you're ordering, BRING OUT THE WRONG THING, & then get upset when you have to clarify THAT'S NOT WHAT YOU ORDERED. Double bonus: they don't take it back to correct or re-do, claiming you didn't specify, & will charge you for THEIR mistake. Now if that's not bad enough, let's talk about pricing. They're charging like they are running a LEGIT 5-Star sushi spot that actually pays attention, makes great food, & nice/ample ambiance. Which, just to recap this place has NONE of the above. For 4 people, it was $140.... which if you're wondering: we ordered 6 rolls, 4 sodas..... Forgive me but for that pricing I'd expect my order to be EXACTLY HOW I DESCRIBED IT. The size of the rolls are bigger at Vons. Also if I ask for a drink I expect a refill, don't give me a can soda to cut your cost. The establishment has a comfort feel because of its size. I usually will take a drive to DTLA or Orange County for my sushi, but decided to give this place a try because a) it's local and b) it has good reviews. Upon walking in, yes it's very small inside. We were seated right away and our server was very friendly and speedy. The chef was full of energy and was dancing and singing along to the music with I liked. I ordered the rainbow roll and it was delicious. A big plus is that the portions were generous. I forgot what my friend ordered but she was very specific with her order and our waitress repeated it to the T. Well done because my friend is very picky. Overall, I'd definitely say to give this place a try. Good food and service.
