Great interior, amazing food. The Daryoush for 2 is the perfect plate, my friends and I had the best time here!! Delicious and authentic, definitely a new WC fave

It's my first time trying Persian food and Daryoush did not disappoint! We tried the 2 people plate, which was a great deal and offers great variety. Highly recommend the filet mignon (barg kabob). The khoresht fesenjoon (stew with pomegranate sauce) was also wonderful!

My buddy and I went there on a lazy Sunday for lunch after our mountain biking excursion at Tilden. We ordered Beef Koobideh dish and shared an appetizer, Panir Sabzi and each of us got the Persian beer, Shams (pilsner and IPA). My buddy is Persian and he goes there with his family for lunch/dinner on occasion. Being my first time, I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The saffron infused Basmati rice was fluffy. Grilled beef was moist and smoky; grilled to perfection. The appetizer was truly refreshing with the fresh herbs and feta cheese. Service was excellent and the meals came out quite quickly. Highly recommend this place if you're interested in Persian cuisine.

I had high expectations coming to this place. I had received two referrals from friends about this restaurant. They don't accept reservations. We ended up waiting in line for at least 1/2 hour. The interior was quite pretty. I had a Persian Pilsner but the can read it was made in the U.S.! For an appetizer we had the Ash e resteh. I applied this to the flatbread that they served us and added a dollop of some sour cream or yoghurt concoction sprinkling it with some spice/herbs from a small shaker. It was alright. I had the Shuslik for a main entree. The four small lamb chops may have been the best tasting I've experienced. It came with a healthy portion of rice. I declined to substitute part of my rice for salad. The plate could have used some color. For dessert we shared some Persian ice cream. Good yet different from my experience in Los Angeles. The server was handling too many tables. I don't know if they were short staffed or not. Nice experience just the same.

This place was amazing! The food and the atmosphere were both incredible. I loved it so much that I came here for lunch yesterday and came back again for dinner tonight because I was still thinking about the food! The Soltani kabob was absolutely delicious. Honestly, I feel like every time I drive by this place, I'm going to end up stopping in for one. The staff were friendly, the service was great, and everything felt warm and welcoming. As an Iranian, the name Daryoush always gives me a sense of pride and connection to our culture and history, which made the experience even more special. And I have to mention the tea and baklava! The tea was refillable, which was such a nice touch. It was perfectly brewed, beautiful in color, and full of flavor. The baklava was also outstanding and paired perfectly with the tea. Highly recommend this place. I'll definitely be back again and again!

Excellent Persian food in Walnut Creek. Had lunch with a good friend earlier this week. We were seated around 12:15 and ordered the combo plate appetizer to munch on while we caught up on life. This was a huge appetizer. It consisted of lavash bread served with three types of dip - hummus, roasted eggplant, and yogurt with chopped cucumbers and mint - and panir (feta cheese) sabzi. After enjoying the app, we decided to share an entrée - the server recommended the Jujeh Soltani, which included one skewer of the tenderest beef koobideh I've ever tasted, and another of jujeh kebab - tender boneless chicken marinated in saffron and lemon juice. Dessert was another winner - some of the best pistachio baklava I've ever had. I was in heaven. Service was good. Bathrooms were clean. There was plenty of street and garage parking available nearby (they don't validate). Will be back!

Vegan beef and vegan chicken koobideh lunch special

recently started a vegetarian diet and randomly remembered that this place offers vegan koobideh, which is honestly unheard of at most Persian restaurants. We came in on a weekday for the lunch special and I was excited to see it was still on the menu. I ordered the vegan beef koobideh and added a vegan chicken koobideh for $5. The lunch special comes with half rice, half salad, plus a drink. I chose the iced tea and it was really refreshing. For an appetizer, I had my must-have mast-o-musir (shallot yogurt). They also bring out butter and half a raw onion, which I always thought was random until I asked my Persian coworker how you're actually supposed to eat it. Turns out the butter is meant to be mixed into the warm rice so it melts, and the onion is used as a palate cleanser. You peel off a small piece and take a bite between eating your rice and protein. Once you know, it totally makes sense. Between the two koobidehs, the vegan beef was the clear winner. It was flavorful and honestly didn't taste like fake meat at all. The vegan chicken was good, but you can slightly taste that Impossible-style meat flavor. Next time, I'll definitely just get two beef koobidehs. Overall, I'm really glad I came back. After trying a bunch of other Persian spots, this is still my favorite, especially now that I can enjoy it while eating vegetarian. Highly recommend.

Party of 5 coming from Sac and South Bay to catchup over lunch. We checked in around 12:30PM and were promptly seated. Started with the combination appetizer plate, which was a good combination and was very good. Nothing memorable... For lunch 3 of us opted for the combination for two, which was plenty for the 3 of us. The other two in our party opted for the combination koobideh kabob, the barg and chicken kabobs were soft and delicious. The koobideh was soft and juicy but could have used more onion in it. The basmati rice was cooked to perfection and the nice touch of tahdig on every rice dish was very nice and appreciated. Service was great and the staff were kind and cordial. By the time we were done, there was a wait as every table was taken. Solid Persian food in the heart of downtown Was Amit Ce Eek.

Had a lovely dinner for my mom's birthday here. They don't take reservations so our party of 9 showed up at 4pm on a Sunday and we were able to snag some tables in the back, which worked out perfectly! Ambiance is intimate and cozy, service was great, and our food was delicious and flavorful (though wish it was a little hotter temp wise). Recommend the Super Barg- filet mignon and chicken thigh filet- tender and flavor. You can upgrade the rice for $5 to any of the special rices. The koobidehs are also very good and flavorful. They charge $15 if you bring a cake. They were able to add candles and bring it out with all of the plates, utensils. We very much enjoyed our experience at Daryoush and recommend it for special occasions or casual outings!

Daryoush was such a great find after a show. It's a dimly lit Persian spot with a nice, streamlined menu and a cozy feel. Our dinner did take a little while to come out, but it was definitely worth the wait. We ordered the lamb chops with rice and salad, the jujeh kebob, and the salmon kebob. The rice came with a piece of tahdig on top, which was a nice touch. I especially liked the salmon - it was moist and cooked really well. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, and the lamb chops were soft, succulent, and didn't taste gamey at all. You can really taste the charcoal flame on the meats, which added so much depth without overpowering the dishes. The flavors were subtle and balanced, with hints of saffron throughout, especially in the rice. They also have a good selection of vegan options, which is nice to see. Next time I'm in the area, I'd love to come back and try their stews. Overall, a really good spot with great food. We all enjoyed our dinner here.

So happy to see Persian cuisine! The service was attentive, the Malbec was fantastic and the food was good. The yogurt marinated chicken kebab was moist and I loved the citrus hint that went so well with the meat. The filet was seasoned well and very tender. My only criticism was the rice as I felt it was extremely bland and under seasoned. The yogurt dip with cucumbers was refreshing and worked perfectly with the meal. All in all a wonderful experience!

I highly recommend this lovely restaurant. l we went for a business lunch and it was perfect. The service was great. The meat was moist on our kebab. I tried the Persian salad with rice in the kebab and it was a perfect flush at a great price. I enjoyed the atmosphere. I would read them 10 out of 10.

We went there tonight for dinner and we had such an amazing time. The service is impeccable. The ambience is lovely. The food is out of this world. I had the salmon kebabs with the rice and the Shiraz salad and it was so good. I also had the hummus my friends got various dishes and they loved theirs as well. We also got the appetizer of feta cheese. That was really good. We did think it would be nice if there had been a sauce that came with the meats but still still it was amazing. Highly recommend this place. We got lucky with parking so I would recommend going around 5 o'clock.

There was a period when both the food and service had declined, but I believe in giving credit where it's due. Over my last several visits during the past two months, Alborz has been absolutely outstanding. The koobideh kabobs are some of the best I've had in a long while; truly mouthwatering. The flavors were explosively mouthwatering and unforgettable. In my opinion, great koobideh needs three essential qualities: it should be flavorful, juicy, and chunky in texture. Alborz's koobideh delivers on all three. The accompanying rice is perfectly cooked; fresh, fluffy, glossy, and delicious. Their bread also deserves special recognition. It's baked fresh daily in their tandoor, and you can absolutely taste the difference. The restaurant's interior has been beautifully updated and feels fresh and inviting, and the service has improved tremendously. The staff is warm, attentive, and genuinely makes you feel welcome. After these recent experiences, Alborz has earned its way back to the top of my list for Persian kabobs.
