Very fun vibe and so many different restaurants! It's great for going with a group, especially when everyone has different taste preferences or dietary restrictions. Personally, I love Blue Door, which is a more affordable version of Ettan and serves delicious Indian street food. It's still on the pricier side, but the flavors are absolutely worth it. The drinks are great (also a bit pricey), and on Tuesday nights they host trivia -- which makes the whole place feel even more lively and energetic. I ordered a lychee martini, which was delicious, along with paneer tikka, naan, and daal makhani from Blue Door. We also shared the sesame leaf chaat (my favorite!) and a margarita pizza. The pizza was okay -- not my favorite, as the crust was a bit too crunchy for my liking. Overall, though, such a fun and vibrant spot! read more

There's literally something for everyone here!! I love the open environment and open seating café area! You can go grab a drink and some sides and watch a game for do a trivia night! There's actually different events every single day of the week here! My girl and I decided to go to the blue door and get some Indian food. The dishes we shared were all really delicious!! She got some street food cream chips with a bunch of sauces on top. That thing was freaking delicious!! The chicken Shawarma wrap got was okay, but nothing extraordinary! My friend bought the fried chicken sandwich and finally heard chicken sandwich was burnt, but the sauce was good. So for a blue door restaurant, we give them 3.5 stars with a potential to be a 4 star if they didn't burn the fried chicken sandwich. Hee Our bartender was very insightful and knew a lot of the tribute questions and we liked the service we got from her as well. Finally got to try this place after hearing about it from some mom friends! For those who don't know, this is like a food court with several restaurants (some "chains") under one roof, located in downtown Los Altos. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. We went with the family on a Monday night on the earlier side, so being a weeknight it was not very crowded and it was easy to find a seat. My daughter and I chose from Orenchi Ramen - I had the original tonkotsu ramen and my daughter had curry chicken katsu. Both were very delicious! Portions were a tad on the smaller side for the prices, but sufficiently satisfying. My son and husband chose Indian food from Little Blue Door. What I really appreciated was the great signage on the menu which showed common allergens. My son has a cashew allergy so I was so relieved to see which menu items both contained or didn't contain those! My son had chicken biryani which was a good portion but a tad on the spicy side. My husband had the andhra chicken curry which he said was delicious. There is a self-service water station if you choose not to order a beverage. Also all the tables are bus-yourself with a cleaning station nicely organized into trash/recycling/compost. They had cups of crayons and drawing papers for the little ones as well. My family wanted to check out State Street Market Food Hall. We arrived during peak hours on a rainy weeknight, so finding a parking space was challenging in the crowded lot. I dropped off my family in the front and drove around until I found a spot. Luckily, somebody was pulling out and I drove to the next area. Upon entering the food hall to catch up with my family, I was delighted to see what the food hall offered. Walking around, I could see various food establishments and people selling crafts. I didn't see my family, so i walked to the outside area to find pop-up tents of vendors selling small batch chocolates & candy, others selling local honey, dried fruits, candles, art, etc. Back inside the food hall, the restrooms are separate for men & women and can accommodate multiple users at a time. They were also clean and tidy. We ended up ordering from Orenchi Ramen, Little Blue Door, and Miko's Calitalia. See separate reviews. The fun part we enjoyed was ordering our food and sharing it! I always love coming to this marketplace! It's a fantastic spot whether you're flying solo, out with a partner, or in a group. Since it opened, there have been a few changes in the restaurant lineup, but every spot I've tried has been great. You'll find a wide variety of food options, from salads, Indian, burgers, ramen, desserts, and even an open bar in the center, which gives the space a fun and lively vibe. The entire place is vibrant, very family-friendly, and perfect for casual dining. The staff are friendly and patient, and even when it gets busy, there's usually a good amount of open seating. It's self-service: just order from whichever vendor you like, then pick a table anywhere. It's super easy and relaxed. There's plenty of street parking, but it can fill up fast on weekends, so I'd recommend arriving early if you can. This food hall was quite busy and crowded this past weekend, not surprisingly since it was the Los Altos First Friday and Earth Month Kickoff event. Got myself a delightful dinner from The Good Salad, along with tasty cocktails from Murdoch's Bar, and was pleased with my selections. Love that there are a good amount of options here to appeal to different preferences and dietary needs. Staff was plentiful at the different eateries and bar, as well as throughout the premises, keeping the place clean. Seats, on the other hand, were not so easy to find (though I got lucky, finding 2 bar height seats near the live music, a small indoor stage area, before 7pm. The live band, 9 South, played a range of rock tunes on the guitar and ukelele, including songs like Just Like Heaven by The Cure. They were great! It was certainly a lively setting, a bit loud, but still pleasant and family-friendly nonetheless, with beautiful art and lighting in the venue to add to the overall atmosphere. And if you come during the Los Altos First Friday event, you can enjoy additional live music in the streets of downtown between the hours of 6-9pm, making a visit here even more worth your time. read more

Nice venue with various options, good for a big group where everyone could choose their own thing. We were also able to reserve tables as it was a birthday and for several outdoor tables. They also had some sort of event for kids going on. It was busy but plenty of seating available on a Saturday at 6pm. I like to come here for large get togethers. Everyone can pick and pay for what they want to eat. Most people go with the sushi and ramen places. They both have decent food and no tip required. The salad place was good too. My husband had the Indian restaurant but they give you too little food. This place is self service. I just tip the restaurants 10% for minimum service. We bus ourselves too. There is a water station but the cups are broken and old. Just bring your water bottles. Place is like mall food court but nicer. I like coming here and then get cakes at Satura. read more

I enjoyed the food halls in Amsterdam and enjoy going to food halls for a quick bite. It's always good to have options and be able to order many different items to sample different foods. Personally, State Street Market is the best food hall in the Bay Area. It is very clean here and there are balanced options from salads to ramen, to pastries and desserts, to burgers, pizza and Indian food. To top it off, they serve alcoholic drinks and play sports. It's a great place to unwind for sure. The best part is how there is plenty of parking and that they have different events around downtown Los Altos. All the vendors have high quality food and service. The price point is a bit higher than other places, but everyone here is a small business, so it's good to support them all. State Street Market had a change in management in 2023, so they have a full house as of this review. It was a welcome change-- now it's a lively and buzzing place. read more

State Street Market in downtown Los Altos is a rather new-ish gathering spot featuring various restaurants serving various kinds of foods, a main pub anchoring the location, and a handful of bakery/ dessert locations. Shared services with respect to condiments and folks cleaning the tables down, it's a true "bus your own dirty plates" kind of cafeteria vibe. Seating inside and out, it can get crowded and quickly. With live music seem to be featured on most, if not all(?) nights, this place really picks up as a social scene in downtown Los Altos. Plenty of free parking, which electric vehicle charging spots, in the adjacent lots to the State Street building, you shouldn't have any problems. read more

I've had State Street Market bookmarked for a while and finally made it down here. The food hall concept just keeps trending and I love that more and more cities have a space like this. I was disappointed to see that Bao Bei is no longer located here. This is a fairly big food hall but I can imagine it being packed during popular times on the weekend. I love that there is also seating outdoors. There's also a farmer's market that happens every Thursday from 4-8pm May 2nd- October 10th. Check out all my photos for things I tried. "Dog Friendly" clarification - I saw 4 reviews before me saying this place is dog friendly. I do not agree. It's "dog friendly" in the sense that, like almost every other restaurant in California with a patio, you can eat on the outdoor patio with them. There are signs at the front that say "NO PETS ALLOWED" for the indoor area. Which is fine, and makes sense, but some dining halls don't care, and I wasn't sure until I got here, so hopefully that helps someone else. read more

Recently moved to Mountain View & happy to find out this isn't too far from home! My husband & I attended the art & wine festival on a Saturday but made a pitstop here for a bite. Loved the variety of options from New York style pizza, ramen, etc. There's a bar basically in the center of it all which also offers a good amount of seating too. Bartenders were friendly & sweet to even handle our food trays. Will definitely be back to try other food options. Conceptually this was a very exciting idea in an otherwise "dead " area. However the quality of food available is not up to the mark. Blue door and the pizza place can be skipped. The salad place seemed to be highly rated but wasn't in the mood for it. Hope other restaurants open up here or have pop ups in the future. read more

Stopped by to rest and dine after browsing the stalls at the Los Altos Art & Wine & Art Festival. Of all the choices in the State St Food Hall I selected Little Blue Sky, I've dined at Ettan Palo Alto many times before, so I knew we would enjoy the Indian Cali fusion food in a casual food court vibe. We shared the butter chicken entree -savory & delicious -had tender chicken chunks in a smoky rich (not too spicy) sauce. The garlic naan was fresh out of oven and soft. We were here today for the Los Altos Art & Wine Festival all day, and thought we'd stick around and try out some of the new food places that has opened up since the last time I had been here. I really wanted to love Bao Bei, we tried the fried chicken and the spicy pork belly bao. I love me some good fusion food but I'm not sure this hit the spot for me. The fried chicken was good on its own, and the pork belly was juicy & tender, but every bite had me yearning for the original flavors and toppings of gua bao. Our party also had tomato soup with grilled cheese sandwich, the soup was too tart. I prefer the sweetness of pan roasted tomatoes for tomato soup. It's just a step that adds so much more flavor. That was definitely a miss for our palates. This place still has potential, you don't even have to go inside to place an order or pick up your food. You can find tables inside or outside, 2 seats, 4 seats, and lots of communal style tables and order & pay via a QR code specific to each table. Someone will bring out your order. read more

The market has had some restaurant turnover and missteps, but hoping they sustain their footing. It's a great space, modern and airy, with a nice outside area in warmer weather. The restaurants they have now are a good spread of choices with the addition now of Orenchi ramen, Ettan street bites and Bibo's pizza (which is my favorite NYC style pizza). We got there early with a large group so we were easily able to get seating at 5:30 on a Friday, but by 6 or a little after people were sharking for tables and the inside was filled up. It was raining out, so no seating outside. They are good about cleaning the tables, ample parking around downtoan and clean bathrooms. Also very kid-friendly with the option to get Penny's Ice Cream as well. read more

Was so excited to finally check this spot out after all the anticipation surrounding its opening! First off, great vibes. Loved the variety of indoor and outdoor seating options - both individual and communal tables. The outside courtyard with the string lights and blue tiles created a sort of Mediterranean vibe. Definitely didn't feel like you were sitting in the middle of Silicon Valley. Each restaurant station had its own vibe and brand which made the inside fun. Since we were ordering from multiple different restaurants we went to our table and ordered using the QR code. Ordering from multiple places at once was super simple, especially since you paid for it all together. Our food and drinks came out in about 5-10 minutes. Some items a little sooner than others, but still within a couple minutes of each other. We were here at a pretty slow hour, so not sure if this would be the case if it were busier. Food was good, most items were priced pretty well, the salads and bowls from Grains and Greens seemed a little pricey for what you got, but there's that Silicon Valley reminder for you. The cocktails from the bar were just okay, once again a little more expensive than they should've been for what they were. Not very strong and pretty basic. If they stepped up their cocktail game that could definitely be a game changer. Looking forward to seeing what else opens up in here! Really well done setup of a bustling food hall with great collection of restaurants inside that has a nice overall welcoming feel to it. Surprise food standout was the Truffle Garlic Fries that easily are some of the best I've ever come across. Konjoe burgers offer really well done Smash Burgers, and have regular meat along with Impossible vegetarian burger patty--this was surprisingly really good! Truffle fries at Konjoe were also extremely good--crispy edges on each fry with soft hot centers sprinkled with truffle and garlic--outstanding fries that make these a serious contender for Best Fries in the Bay Area. Other excellent foods we tried were the Dessert cheesecake offering from Ikuka--really loved the creative kabocha squash Basque cheesecake. Very light cheesecake but a thickier consistency because of the kabocha squash, and the traditional slightly charred top that is Basque style. Great offerings that are not too sweet, which is common of Japanese desserts. Butter Chicken from Little Blue Door was really good. Tender bites of cbicken are served inside a really cool mini-stove pot with a brass handle, garlic Naan bread was very thin and full of flavor. Excellent dish! Little Sky Bakery has another location now inside of State Street Market here! Congrats to the team of this bakery serving up outstanding cookies and bread. Their Challah bread is outstanding--I made French toast for my kids with it and they loved it. Their oatmeal raisin cookies are enormous and are really really good. Plenty of outdoor seating along with indoor seats--it looks like a pizza joint might be opening up inside soon too. read more

The first option is the patio seating (closest to the Market) which is considered official restaurant dining where you can still order from any of the shops inside but there is someone who helps take your order and bring you your food. The other outdoor option is the seating at the barrels with the tents or at the courtyard with stringed lights located on the side of the Market.
