When I think of Dave & Buster's, I think of drinks and games. My recent experience at this Albuquerque location was far from fun. I was having a bad day; I had a drink with friends at home, then we took a Lyft to D&B's. Having recently moved to New Mexico, two of us had out of state licenses. Apparently, the manager had to verify their authenticity. When the manager came over and fumbled and then dropped the IDs, my friend made the joke that maybe the manager was drunker than us. Up to this point, we had been keeping to ourselves and just interested in lifting our spirits. We ordered food and drinks. The manager came back to let us know that our drinks would not be delivered until after our food because he was concerned we were too intoxicated. After 10-15 minutes, our bland food was served, and we were still refused drinks. My friends became irate and the lack of service. We had been quiet and safe. But they refused service. We were upset and just wanted to leave. We hardly touched the food, so we decided to just walk out. The manager stopped me and insisted on payment. He then proceeded to charge me for the meals we didn't eat as well as the game tokens/points. But I didn't get any player/game cards. I paid $90 for a very unpleasant experience. And while I'll add that my friends and I could have handled the situation better, I am still so confused. I went to D&B's, not Chuck E Cheese's. None of we're driving or being loud or obnoxious. We made a joke. I suppose if we had come in loaded but without any comment, all would have been fine. But with one drink under our belts and a joke, and we were cut off. This has become our go to date spot when we want decent food, various types of drinks but more importantly we want to be like kids. We try to visit middle of the week late night as to avoid the family crowds. We usually opt for the Power Play meals, it really is a lot of food but you need that energy to play. Food is good, nothing mind blowing. Service is always on par. The fun starts after you eat. :) The first time we went they had a bar in the game area which was awesome, we didn't have to fight to get a spot at the bar to be noticed it was easy and fast. Sadly the last few times this feature hasn't been up and running. The games are fun, I do miss the fun of having to collect tickets, now they put the tickets on your card but be careful some games make you put your card in not just to plus but to collect your tickets. There are typical games, skee ball, racing, shooter games, guitar hero (personal fave too bad they don't give tickets boo). You can easily spend a couple hours here laughing and feeling like a kid. Wow! This place is a dream for those who like playing games. The atmosphere is intense, probably too intense for me. The music is blaring and Games are cha'ching'ing, very similar to a Las Vegas Casino, but louder. The food is overpriced and mediocre. For an appetizer, I ordered the calamari- there were about 8-10 pieces of Calamari on top of a bed of fried onions, so it creates the illusion that you are receiving more than what you ordered. For my main entree I ordered the chicken wing and rib combo. The presentation was very nice, the dish came in a large skillet. The food, itself, came out lukewarm and too salty. The atmosphere is like a fast paced playground that both children and adults can enjoy. The staff are both quick and well rounded as they can either be waiting tables or helping on the arcade floor. The food here is pretty decent but is mostly inclined toward bar bites and crazy cocktail creations. The arcade itself has a good blend of both ticket dispensing and party games to fit the needs of all kinds patron preferences (I have lots of alliteration today). The order must be done online and the server refuses to take the order. So I used to work at Dave and busters as a server I worked there for about 5 months. I occasionally go in to say hello to my old coworkers or even there to grab a bite. Every time I have entered the restaurant the manager who goes by Drew has been nothing but a rude, disrespectful, and disgusting person. He has made me feel extremely unwelcome for just standing there waiting for a friend to sit and eat. He gives me nasty looks when I just enter. He is extremely unprofessional and while I was working there he was just as unprofessional. He makes people feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. When I was working there we got into a argument about a mistake I had made and instead of helping me fix the situation he cussed and at me yelled at me in-front of my coworkers. I was crying. I called off the next day with a back up person to cover my shift and Drew proceeded to take me off the schedule for a whole week for no reason. Dave & Buster's definitely doesn't sell itself short on entertainment. From the expansive game-room to the large liquor bar they have a little something for everyone. Though the game room is large it's not cheap by any means. $20 runs like water there as most of the games start at just above $1 a play with some running as high as $4.50 a play. Depending on your gaming choice it's safe to say $20 isn't going to cut especially with kids. The prize room has an excellent selection of prizes to choose from with the option to save tickets to your D&B play card. The menu in the dinning area/bar is quite large. They offer a lot of different choices ranging from appetizers to Seafood and Steaks. With that in mind the prices can be a bit high depending what you get. In my opinion the best deal is the eat and play menu just because the price for the meal and a $10 power card to use in the game room is a really good deal. For $8 more you can double the power play to $20. It's like your getting both for half the price if you got them separate. The bar on the other hand, if you're good with beer your in the clear. The beers are about par in price to most other local breweries. The liquor on the other hand expect to pay no less than $8 for cocktails and mixed drinks. It's a bit overpriced considering the amount you get. A margarita about 12 oz will run you $10. And doesn't even come with a second pour like most other places have for the same price. A rum and coke is about the $12. Compared to other bars they are a bit pricey but the bartenders are friendly and least you have several screens with sports to watch while your there. The bar stools are quite comfy too! Great place with a lot of entertainment but don't expect to spend less than $20. read more

My friends and I were pleasantly surprised about the happy hour deals at the bar here and overall have a good time with the games. The food is so-so but the mini hot dogs are pretty solid. Our last visit here we had some rough service and circumstances. 1st- don't bother buying the big shared drink- it's almost all ice and no alcohol. We asked for "light" ice and the picture below is how much it was filled. We also asked to watch the NM United soccer game on one of their MANY televisions and they said "no because it's football Sunday." Later, after realizing our large group was not going to stop asking because we were around multiple televisions that were not being used, they said they didn't have the streaming service (fair reason... but why not for our only local professional team?). Plus- they used to have it! ‍ The servers also forgot and mixed up a lot of the food and drinks (not a huge biggie but enough that it's worth a mention). When it comes to hiring good people, Dave & Busters should write a book. I was her for a special event, so I had a chance to interact with a lot of staff members and they were all awesome. Friendly, knowledgeable and having fun with their job. They really did a great job facilitating a fun evening. I was impressed by the game selection. Lots of games I have never seen before and a great variety. I was pleasantly surprised to be able to carry around my beer and play games. I thought that would lead to a messy game area, and that is absolutely not the case. Bonus, lots of places to put your drink down while you play a game. Ticket cost for the prizes seemed pretty reasonable. Food. Well... its terrible. Meatballs were dry and rubbery. Fried shrimp was fried WAY too long, leaving it chewy and crunchy. Pot stickers had potential, but where was the dipping sauce? Chicken on a stick was decent at best. The main menu might be better, but you will not find me eating here again unless 10 people tell me things have drastically improved. Bar looked well stocked and had a lot of draft options. New Mexico has a ton of tremendous local beers available, yet they only had 2 available. Glad I could have Marble IPA, but some more local options would be nice. Eat, Drink, Play. This is my third time here, but my first time ordering food. First off I wanna say this is a great place to go with friends to have drinks and play games.
