The only positive thing I have to say about this is that the food was good, that's were the 2 stars is coming from. We walked in and we were vaguely told to seat ourselves and then it took about 10 minutes to tell our waiter we wanted water. After we received our water we eventually got to order (which felt like a 15 min conversation of just saying what I wanted). My friend was brought a completely wrong drink which took about 15 min to correct. We got our food (all separately) and didn't get any silverware. I'm not sure if they expected me to eat my salad with my hands. Finally got our checks by a different waiter and then watched our waiter talk to the bartender. The food was great! I had the caveman combo. My fiancé had the Nashville chicken. The chicken was on point! It was juicy and the ribs were tender. The slider were really good. I thought the size of the Nashville chicken was going to be bigger by the picture but my fiancé still enjoyed it. The appearance of the food was a plus. The bar was why I didn't give it 5 stars, the bartender was ignoring us at first and taking the other peoples 2nd round order, after making their first. She asked me what I wanted then as I was telling her she ignored me to get the guys order beside me. We got our drinks after almost 30 minutes of waiting. She was nice afterwards, you could tell she was flustered I just wish she would have said something to at least let us know she was acknowledging us, I understand having to wait when there isa crowd. Worst place to eat or drink ever. Wait time for any food service is ridiculous. I waited 15 minutes for a server to greet my friends and I. Then it took 20 minutes for drinks. The food took 40. Just eat somewhere else. Games are fine. Do not, I repeat do not expect much from the food service. Wasted an 1 hour and 30 minutes total. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Servers are not attentive I had to flag them down anytime I needed them. My server was sweet but overall a total nightmare. Visited this Dave n busters for my brothers birthday. It took about 30 to 45 minutes to get seated, associates were not clear on gaming instructions at all. Finally get seated at a unstable table with wet seats, still no one came to take our order, we had to go to the bar just to get a drink. Another 15 minutes go by and we finally get in touch with a waitress and ask for a manager. We FINALLY get our food about an hour later. All of our orders were messed up... my chicken was very dry and bland, my sisters order was completely wrong, they ran out of ribs for my mother, my fathers portions were extremely small. Me and my husband had an overall wonderful experience. Servers were fast and friendly and willing to answer questions about the menu. Food was prepared in a timely manner. I had a couple of the alcoholic snowcones and my husband had one of the snowcones and a hard apple cider drink. I think the glow cone was overpriced as they charged you for the price of a full alcoholic beverage but the ice filled up most of the cup and you got very little drink. I understand it's a snow cone but come on that does not justify the price. Although the presentation was very nice. The other alcoholic snowcone that I had did not glow but it was much larger and filled with more of the drink, and was a better value in my opinion. I had the Maker's Mark BBQ burger, and my husband had the tacos for the taco Tuesday special. The burger was amazing, they gave you a lot of burger it was very messy but delicious, the fries were okay. My husband was unimpressed with the tacos but they were only two dollars so no real issue here. Get what you pay for in this case. The arcade games were about what you would expect and they have a wonderful variety. The pricing is pretty good I can't complain. They have some pretty decent prizes for people who save up their tickets. Overall I enjoyed myself thoroughly and plan to frequent this place. read more

I have been here three times and eaten here twice. The food is fairly decent, nothing extraordinary. I normally only come because we enjoy the games and the food tends to be okay. My complaint with my last visit is that we were finally sat at a table after waiting an hour. (We went during a peak time, so the wait was not a big deal). However, the hostess sat us down and we waited for our waiter to come. The waiter was nowhere to be seen. A large party was sat down next to us far after we were sat down in the same style table. Almost immediately their waiter showed up and sat down at the table with them and chatted them up. At this point we had still not seen a waiter or had our drink orders taken. Then, after five minutes of waiting, the waiter who sat down at the table next to us decided to get up from chatting with them and come talk to us. I could understand if they had sat down before us but we were sitting there waiting for ages and simply because a larger party sat down, he decided to serve them first.It just disappointed us that he was clearly not as interested in being our waiter as he was with the other table. Of course I will go back sometime or other, but I'm hoping that the next time we wont run into the same issue. read more

Was in Columbia visiting a friend and we ate and played games here on the last night, service was alright but the waiter had cashed in the cash I used to pay as a tip. After I had told him to do the 50$ in cash and the rest of the 23$ on my card, a few days later I've been charged the full 73$. Dave & Busters is exactly what you should expect. . . food is fair with a menu that represents a cross between fast food and standard chain restaurant fair. I cant imagine anything that is made is fresh most is likely pre-prepared and reheated on stove top or microwave. The bartenders are for the most part not attentive and need to be called for any type of service. In general though one does not go to Dave & Busters for food, they go for the arcade. The arcade is very enjoyable with games for children and adults. The only problem is all the ticket games and the charge they give you to even get a token card. Nice new facility. BUT service at the bar leaves much to be desired. The only saving grace was the awesome manager (lovely bald guy with Northern accent) who got us a round of drinks free after we made complaint. Basically, the bar chick took at least 15 minutes before acknowledging us and then opted to serve the gentlemen who arrived 10 minutes after us. Then when we complained, she didn't apologize but said, "I saw them first." And while we were sitting there for the 15 mins, we saw at least 1 other couple complain to the manager. I would suggest they get more bar staff, but the staff were already bumping into each other. They really should have a better system for working the bar. Almost ruined our date night. If you are going for the games alone, you'll have fun. But if you decide to eat, it's one of the worst experiences around. I've been 3-4 times now to eat. Each time is the same. It takes forever to get a seat (last night was a 25 min wait for two of us with tables open everywhere). Once we were seated it took about 15 minutes for our waiter to come take our drink order and another 15 minutes at least to get the drinks. Don't get me started on how long it took to order the food and for it to come out. The food is horrible. Each time we've found something in our food, whether it's hair or whatever. Last night the waiter poured a refill into my sons cup right in front of my eyes and there were 2 black bugs the size of a dime in it. I asked "what's that?" He says, "Let me just get you a new one." Hey, THANKS! I mean, it was like it was just a normal occurrence for them. Terrible. Anyways, including taking care of the check, it was a 2 hour experience for some nachos and a kids Mac and Cheese, which is Kraft. He readily admitted that. Place was busy when we showed up around 4pm on a Sunday, which is always a good sign. The wait was 30-45 mins so we walked the mall until our table was ready. We had a party of 13 so they pushed a few tables together and seated us. No napkins, no silverware, and a couple menus shy, but I figured they'd fix it. They took our drink order and the drinks came in a fair amount of time. The adult beverages we ordered took awhile though and my beer was room temperature by the time it arrived. We placed our food order and the food arrived after about 20 or so minutes and not all at once. We could tell it had sat for awhile too since nothing was hot. They advertise over a half pound of seasoned fries with their burgers and what we got was about a handful of plain fries. They still hadn't noticed we had no napkins or silverware and when we asked, they brought out three sets and cocktail napkins...three sets for thirteen people! Food was delicious though and my South Philly Burger was phenomenal. Overall it was a good experience, but with some attention to detail it could have been great. I am writing to "warn the others". I should have checked the reviews before going. The video games are neat, but the restaurant side is a disorganized mess with questionable food. The first sign that something was wrong was when they were out of straws at 6 pm on a Saturday. They were out of the food they needed to make two menu items (second warning should have been when they offered to let us wait until an employee got back from the store with the meat). The calamari was not entirely calamari, some onions and potatoes mixed in. It took an hour for any food to arrive at the table. My husband's cheeseburger arrived 30 minutes before the rest of the food for our table, was way over cooked and cold. (As were the fries) We were offered other menu items through your the meal by servers who did not know where the item they had was to be delivered. My husband and I are in Columbia visiting my parents and my 7 year old niece. We get to see them about twice a year and try to create a special memory with my niece each time. This visit, we decided to take her to Dave & Buster's. She's never been and she was so excited that she could hardly sleep last night when we told her about today's plans. We decided we would get there early, play a few games, eat a quick lunch, and then enjoy more games. Unfortunately, our "quick lunch" ended up spoiling the whole experience for us. It started off bad and just went downhill from there. We were sat at a table with no napkins, silverware, or menus. After 15 minutes, our server arrived and without introducing herself asked us if we needed menus and would like to order drinks. We placed our drink order: child's sprite, coke, 3 unsweetened iced teas, and an extra cup of ice. She came back with our menus, but no drinks. 15 minutes later (these are not exaggerated times), a different server arrived with 3 iced teas (with about 3 ice cubes in each). Our server came over a few minutes later with a coke and a large sprite, which she attempted to hand to my tiny niece who could barely see over the table. I intercepted the drink and asked if they had children's cups. She replied "Oh you want a kid's cup?" and went to get it. When she returned with the kid's sprite she said "Sorry this took so long but I'm just really busy" and then asked if we wanted to order. We placed our food order and let her know we would probably need silverware and napkins. 30 minutes later we still had no food. She came over to the table with 3 additional warm iced teas and we asked her about the food. She said they were putting it on trays and it would be out momentarily. We waited an additional 10 minutes with no food, although we did hear a large crash in the kitchen (maybe they dropped it?). Finally, my dad went to get a manager to let them know we would be leaving and just wanted to pay for our drinks. The manager was busy and said he would be right over. When the manager came over (no introduction & no name tag), he was impatient and unconcerned. We explained that we had been there for over an hour with no food. He replied with "So wait- have you ordered or not?". At that point, my dad went to find our waitress and pay for the drinks while the rest of us went to wait in the mall- we needed to eat and ended up at the food court. When my dad found our waitress, she said "are you looking for me" and he replied that he was because we were leaving and wanted to pay for our drinks, because we never got our food. She said "Ok", went and talked to her manager. When she came back, she said "My manager said have a nice day." My husband and I have both worked in the food service industry for nearly 20 years each. We are not difficult customers (unless asking for silverware, an extra glass of ice, and a child's cup is considered difficult). We are also well aware of what is and is not within a server's control. The restaurant was not that busy and there were almost as many servers walking around as there were seated tables. Possibly the kitchen was having issues or our particular server was overwhelmed, but the one thing you always have control over is your attitude. Both our server and the manager showed extremely poor customer service and did not seem to care that we'd had a negative experience. In fact, they seemed annoyed that they had to deal with us at all. Over an hour sitting at a table with no food is tough for anyone, but for a 7-year old, it's nearly unbearable. Especially when right on the other side of the wall there are fun games that she isn't getting to enjoy. By the time we ate something in the food court, she was tired and anxious. We did go back for additional play time, but only because I didn't want to ruin her experience even more. However, the wind had gone out of her sails and all of us adults were left with a bad taste in our mouths. This was supposed to be a special memory for my niece and an enjoyable time for all of us as a family, but it didn't quite work out that way. I never used to leave reviews, but I now manage a team responsible for creating an excellent client/customer experience and I think it's important to let others know when a business fails to meet basic standards and even worse, doesn't care. I've been here twice and both times were lackluster I was expecting this place to be more so for adults. A game place where adults and relax. Nope far from it. There are sooooo many kids running around. Besides the long wait for the salty food, you have to wait for the games. It would be nice if you can order food and play games while you wait. They often run out of alcohol beverages. There is a total wine store near the mall. If you run out of stuff it would be nice to go get some more before 7 (when the liquor store close). I ordered 3 mix drinks before I just gave up and ordered a beer, and they were out of bud light. And I had to be careful not to spill my drink on the running children. Awful service. There were only a few guys at the bar and it took 15 mins to acknowledge us and then the male bar tender was very rude. The second drink, the female bar tender was too busy talking to the guys to even look at us. Definitely avoiding us. Then after giving me my drink she gave me a receipt. We went Sat 11 Mar. I do understand Saturdays are busy days for mostly all business on Harbison especially D&B because it's new but this was ridiculous. I got there, checked in and were told 1hr to 1hr 30 mins wait. We ended up waiting 3 hrs to be seated. I had initially 15 in my party that dwindled down to 11 and I can understand a large party on a Saturday would have wait time but that didn't really bother me. What made me mad was they had a whole section closed off for reservations. We watched 4 tables sit there empty that could have sat us and other parties waiting the long hrs before the reservation actually got there. One check in girl even said that table is reserve for 4:30. I look at the time and it's 1. We could have ate twice and still been gone before they got there. I'm sure other parties felt the same watching the tables along with us. Then once we were seated it took an hr to get our food. Again we had 11 in our party so they split us up in tables. The 4 they separated us from got their food 30 mins before us and was actually done eating before we got our at the other table. I was just annoyed while the rest of my table was pissed. It appeals to many age groups, from kids to adults which makes it a place where all can enjoy. When it comes to the food, game selection in the arcade, to what's being played on the huge screen televisions, Dave & Buster's has a vast amount of choices. Items that can be ordered range from from pizza and pretzel dogs, to Surf & Turf, and baked chicken & shrimp pasta. They also have a vast selection of drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) to choose from. The prices for these items are reasonable as well. In the arcade, they have a large variety to choose from. Air hockey, Connect Four, Super Mario Bros., to action games, there is something for everyone. Depending on what time you arrive may impact the waiting time(if any) for a table, but they give you an option to make reservations to avoid this issue. I recently visited again this past Saturday and I enjoyed the experience. I used promotional coupons sent to our email accounts to play Dark Escape 4D, a very exhilarating game, and I played until I ran out of tokens.
