This review isn't about food. The food is all right. Nothing memorable but nothing to complain about. Typical bar food menu. Got the chicken quesadilla and it came out tasty-- lots of chicken, lots of cheese, and salsa. Simple but good. Rail drinks were cheap. Spent $30 on food and $30 on drinks.... Got way more drinks than food. NOW ONTO THE GAMES!!!! Go on Wednesdays when games are half-priced!!! We went on a Friday, spent $75 and got a ton of "tokens"....... Got there at 7pm, ate dinner, and proceeded to play every single game there. We only got about 75% through when we got tired suddenly (old farts) and realized it was midnight. Haha. There are a huge variety of games for every kind of gamer-- carnival type games, trivia, games of chance where you win tickets for prizes, and there are a lot of first person shooter games, too. This was one of our favorite places to visit when we first moved to MN and that area of Maple Grove was beginning to grow. We had a lot of fun with the games and great service at the bar. Well we are back and living in MLPS, and thought we'd come back here to have a date night. YIKES. Not how I remember it at all. The racing games were so glitchy you couldn't choose the vehicles or characters you wanted. The place was trashed both inside and out in the parking lot. Look, you have people loitering out there smoking pot (which hey, whatever floats your boat) but when it's a large amount of people hanging around your car and other patrons cars it's a little nerve wracking. Not to mention people were also smoking in the bathrooms and the pot smell was horrendous. The bartender obviously didn't care to be there. Sad that it's not what it used to be. Especially for how much money you put on cards to just get crappy prizes. What happened Dave & Buster? Oh, also, you have gatekeeping at that Star Trek machine People literally stood there blocking you from even attempting to play it, it was pretty annoying. read more

The food is nothing to write home about. I'd rather go to Applebee's to be honest. But I guess if you do the eat and play combos, you can make things stretch a little bit more than they would normally. The best thing about this D&B is that you can sit there and destroy the stuffed animal claw machine for hours on end. It pays out on average of 1 out of every 2-3 tries. I was in town for a hockey tournament I have had great experiences at my home Dave and Busters so we went here with a couple of friends at about 8 pm Saturday, April 15th. We spent a lot of time waiting to be greeted by our waiter at the end when I paid. our order was 2 boneless wings, one giant pretzel, one nacho, a burger and fries, a dr pepper, and a large 100oz beer. the bill was somewhere slightly over $100 I normally tip 20% I was reviewing my cc statement and saw that I was charged $220.62 now I understand this could have been a typo or it could just be a greedy waiter. Fact that after I gave my credit card to the waiter to pay the bill it took 15 minutes to get him to come back with it and that I have called the store multiple times without even being able to get someone to pick up the phone the number must go to a call center because the guys that answer the (763) 493 - 9815 number told me after the second or third time he just transfers the call to the store he cant help. I have no choice but to let the good people of maple grove be very careful doing business at this Dave and Busters keep your receipts and check them against the charges I contacted the local police and they said to contact the store to have them pull receipts and verify with them if it was a mistake and that can't even happen because no one picks up leaves me with no choice but to contact the maple grove police again and request them to investigate fraud charges that might just be a simple mistake because you can not get to a real person to pick up the phone. I did try to call the 800 number they like to leave in all their bad reviews and even though it was during their listed time of being open no one again answered and I was forced to leave a message which has not been returned. Watch your credit and debit cards and make sure if your traveling from out of town you make sure everything is right before you leave because there is no help once you walk out the door and mistakes or theft you won't get any help. read more

So I am giving Dave ad Buster's a 4 star based on what it was. It is a real fun place to hang out with 6 friends like I did on a team outing. We entered the establishment and it is pretty enormous. The dining area is on the right, and then they have a ton of ticket and video games to the left. We sat down at a table and our server was super great. We started with a plate of nachos and a Diet Coke. The nachos were piled high and plenty good. Pretty generic, but solid! They have this cool special where you can order an entree from a list of about 10 options and you get $10 worth of game credits and 100 credits. I ordered the balsamic grilled chicken. After about 10 minutes it came out and it was kind of Applebee like, but a notch above. It was quite tasty and they were pretty large hunks of fowl. The Texas toast was overly buttered, but hey, it's Texas toast. The roasted potatoes and veggies were perfect and the balsamic salsa had the perfect amount of tang to it. Our server refilled my soda often and was as good as they get. I would have liked more TVs in the dining area, half of our table could see the TVs at the bar, while half of us couldn't see any of the glowing boxes. We first played a racing game where we could all play against each other. A great team activity. I played my boss in some mini basketball and some guitar hero. We all played trivia. This was my favorite. The more people playing at one time, the more tickets go into the pot. I won one round and got like 72 tickets out of it. It was super fun. 4 stars for groups, a perfect team outing place. After a few hours it gets to be a little like a casino, but we had a blast together! read more

Dave and Busters was such a great idea to do the night before Christmas Eve as a gift to my adult children and their plus one! They were very accommodating, we basically had a whole section to ourselves, service was perfect! The manager came by to make sure we all had what we needed. Our server was amazing! The food was great, the drinks were great, the whole night was amazing! We were a party of 10, and we all had soooo much fun! read more

Wow I guess I should have expected it, but this place is loud and a bit overwhelming with flashing lights and too many big screen TVs for my taste. My husband and I stopped in the bar for a snack while our son attended a birthday party. I had hoped there would be an area that was a bit quieter and removed from the games, not the case. I had the avocado toast, it was okay not great. I had expected the toast to be crisp, instead it was the consistency and taste of stale bread. The avocado, corn, and crema mixture on top was not well balanced. Too much crema and cheese, not enough avocado and corn. The pickled onions though were a bright spot in this dish with a tangy bite that helped cut through the crema and cheese. My husband had the wings and fries and indicated that those too were okay but not great. Our server was the best part of our visit very friendly and attentive. Dave an Buster's may not really be a place for my taste, but if you are looking for a place where the adults can let the kids loose to go crazy while they have a bite to eat, this would be the place for you. read more

My family comes here to play at the arcade area mostly. The past times that we've been here it's been kept more clean than before. There is always a new machine to try so it's a great experience to visit if ur bored the staff are very monotone but they've been helpful every time I ask them for any help. read more

The food at D&B was some of the worst food I have eating out in a long time. The burger was over cooked, the salad was wilted and even the kids meal was horrible. The fries were dark brown/black and the kids pretzels dogs were so rubbery my 7 year old had a hard time biting it. My brother chose this place to celebrate his birthday with the family (11 of us). The restaurant does not take reservations so I was skeptical they would have space for us. When I told the host "how many" he seated us at an empty table of exactly 11 seats already set up! The menu was huge. Burgers, sandwiches, pastas and the like. I ordered a BLT with avocado that came with fries. The sandwich was actually quite good! Not too greasy, not skimpy on any ingredients. Pretty standard yet very (surprisingly) good! The fries. Also unexpectedly good! Thick cut and cooked to perfection. Not too greasy, not too burnt. Decent flavor and the skin was still on some of the fries. Legit? Yep. The service was great. She even brought me a new set of fries because mine had tipped over on her serving tray. I didn't even ask for a new set nor did I see it happen. My sister got bonus fries on her mac and cheese though. We skipped dessert here since my sister made cupcakes... shh! We snuck it in! After dinner we headed to what appeared to be a chunk of Vegas within Arbor Lakes. AKA, the arcade side of D&B. So many flashy lights! So many beeps, chimes and dings! Some of the games even had buttons on them for "cocktail service!" A few of us threw $35 into a machine to charge up a card for points. Pretty expensive to play dinky games for rolls of tickets to redeem for five pieces of candy. But that's like the point, right? TIP: if you have small children with you NEVER EVER let them play those claw games where you're supposed to grab a stuffed animal or miniature football. Once they get a taste of it they will want to drain you of all your points/money for only repetitive disappointment. Another TIP: If you decide to do some photo booth fun... beware this is not your typical photo booth. It is terrible. First, you put in $3 and not tokens/points/coins. Next, you have to watch an instructional video that you cannot hear because the arcade is very loud. Then you must choose a photographer. That's right, these are videos of characters that tell you when to pose. We chose the Italian supermodel photographer. He then starts talking about something (not sure what, couldn't hear it) and then yells "POSE!" So we basically had no idea what was going on during this time and ended up with nine photos of 2/3 of us looking strangely on at the screen in front of us. My step daughter was the only one that posed. Perhaps I'll post a pic. It was hilarious. Overall, we had a really fun time. Food quality was a surprise (I wasn't ill afterwards!) and I can pretty much play skeeball all afternoon long and be quite content. Let's celebrate every birthday here! read more

Update: Went back with a few friends today. The food was awful. It took so long to come out too. My chip dip trio that I was soooo looking forward to was garbage. The guac has hard chunks of unripe avocado. It was the first time I ever had to chew my guacamole. And it was unsalted. And then there was the queso with pulled pork (?) maybe... whatever the meat was, it was hard and stuck together. My husbands philly cheese steak came out and didn't have any onions or peppers on it. *ARCADE ONLY* As the father of 3 boys (2, 4 and 6) and a once-game-officionado myself I was pretty impressed with this place. Arriving before 6 allowed us to buy Power Hour cards, granting an hour of unlimited blue games (non- ticket rewarding games) for 10 bucks. The hour flew by and between Mario Cart, Transformers, and a host of other age appropriate options we had a blast! It took half of the time before I realized that I could use the same card to add in on multiplayer games which was nice since I didn't buy my own card. You just have to wait 60 seconds between swipes. I've heard bad things about the food and with loads of quality options nearby we enjoyed dinner elsewhere. My kids had a 2 hour break from there basketball games and they had to leave early because the good and service was so bad. My kids didn't eat there food till after the games and it was cold. Frozen bar food for a luxury price, lots of machines out of order, dirty and out dated bathrooms and they serve drinks to underage teens. I remember this was the drinking spot for high school kids to get served underaged and I see that hasn't changed. They use to have half price game play on Wednesdays. I'd come in and get the jackpot on certain machines and get enough tickets for a gaming console but now they got rid of all those machines. They rigged other ones to pay out less and the claw machines are hard to win. All in all an expensive experience for frozen bar food, loud music and outdated games. Everything is dusty, dirty, sticky, broken and why does everything smell like pee??! This place needs to be renovated. Stay away. Dave and busters has really gone down hill. We asked multiple times for refunds because the games were taking our credits and not working and eventually the workers were just so sick of us they pretty much just said go find another game and gave us an attitude. The store with all the prizes also was very empty and the workers were nagging us to leave 10 minutes before the place closed and said they "wanted to go home so hurry up" it was honestly so shocking I couldn't believe how they talked to my family and the other customers. We took my niece and nephews, who were visiting from out of state, here for some fun and games. We've been here before and didn't have a super great experience but decided to give it another shot. Same as before, we did dinner and games and got some eat and play packages. Unfortunately the food was super salty again. I was hoping that maybe the cooking staff were just heavy handed with the salt the first time around, but this time, we came with a pretty large group and everyone's dish was overly salted. I don't know if all the food and dressings come pre-packaged so the salt content can't be controlled, but it is unfortunate that a place that serves food to mostly children and young adults would serve food with such a high salt content. When you walk in, you kind of feel like a kid in a candy store.... looks like something for everyone! Games for kids, a great looking menu, a superior adult beverage menu! Then the problems start! We ordered drinks, asked the server for the wifi password, let me check she says.... Comes back to take our food order, which we ordered three entrees. Still no wifi password. A different server walks by, so we ask for their wifi password? Let me check and I'll be right back Server brings our drinks but forgot about the password. Another server brings our food out. Again asked for their wifi password. No response. Food: buffalo wings with frys, ok, but not great. Frys cold. Dave's double cheeseburger. Burger was very good but the side of frys was cold. Philly Cheesesteak with onion rings. Onion rings were ok, but nothing outstanding. Philly was ....surprise, cold. Got the wifi password, GOLDENTEE, not accepted on the network. Overall, extremely disappointed that we chose to try this place. Service is poor and slow. Food was not hot, temperature wise. We spent about $50 for lunch could have been awesome if it had arrived hot, and not had such poor service. There are so many other restaurants in the area. Choose some place else! read more

Ugh. So I went here. I feel really torn about it. Side A: The fun lovin' lady that I am is all about getting drunk while playing games like Ski-Ball, Air Hockey, Daytona 5000, 6 Shooter, trivia, some big crazy horse racing game, some fighting games, some big epic 3-D bowling game, etc etc etc. . . . Side B: The other part of me feels like a cheap whore for getting sucked into this big box chain restaurant that offers food that is comparable to a less imaginative TGIF or Applebees all for the benefit of being able to play some video games while drinking overpriced drinks. I ended up spending about $70 here. I had 2 large beers. . biiiiiiig beers. I also had 2 fruity foo-foo drinks that were tasty, yet spendy. I had dinner here so I could do the 'Eat and Play' combo. I ordered the chicken parmasean sandwich and salad. Then with the $24 meal, I received a $20 game card. Seemed like a good deal. . . but then why was my tab $70? No idea folks. All I can think was that those drinks had to have been $10 a piece. The games were fun. But I felt like my soul was being sucked through some portal that lay beneath the floor. We had my boyfriend's 33 birthday Get-Together start here because it was in the middle of St Cloud and St Paul. We thought it would be a laid back and fun atmosphere. Instead I just wanted to strangle the small children running around like crazy at 10 pm. Sugar intake for those under 10 should be restricted. Not only were the other patrons annoying and rude, the food was terrible and overpriced. There were lines to play video games so all of us could never play the same game, or any game near each other. This doesn't even touch on how we couldn't hear each other speak over the screams of kids. I know this is an arcade but after 10, shouldn't it be more adults than children?! We decided to retreat from the throngs of children and ended up at the TGI Friday's across the parking lot. Why go to the ghetto when Dave and Buster's can bring the ghetto to you? Sure, my kid loves this place, but each trip here becomes more and more painful. The food is atrocious. The service is shameful. In fact, calling it "service" is a testament to irony. The one exception to this is the management in the game area. We've had problems with a couple of games from time to time and they always take care of us quickly. The cost is substantial in the game section, but you typically don't get much for the money you put into the machines (some yield a lot of tickets while others dispense very few - so choose wisely). When you redeem these tickets, you get to deal with some of the most caustic and morose people on earth - the gift shop clerks. You'll end up spending an eternity in this area while the kids pick out what they want (and it's all total junk). Many of the patrons are misfits, goons and others from society's Great Unwashed. Not the types you want to consort with for an afternoon. However, there is no denying that kids love this place. Try to go early in the day and avoid school MEA days - it turns into bedlam. read more

Service was great, food was not. I tried the new chicken Caesar salad with kale. All of the dressing was in the center of the salad and the chicken was dry and hard like it was either recently frozen or cooked yesterday. It may be my fault for ordering healthy food at a place like D and B, but lesson absolutely learned. Unfortunately the appetizers also left me somewhat disappointed, the mini hot dogs were greasy and the nachos are just okay. Last night I went to Dave and Busters with a Living Social deal and the hope that I could relive the days when Chuck E Cheese when the venue where I wanted every life event to happen. I have to say, it was a ton of fun. I wouldn't come here multiple times in a year, but it's nice to mix up our date activities and this was a breath of fresh air. We had drinks and played games for a few hours, I would recommend getting there after 9pm like we did. The teenagers start to clear out so you get your pick of games rather than waiting. We especially liked the trivia and PAC man games because you could compete with other people too. They had the classics like skeeball and free throw games, but also had super-sized versions of popular cell phone games like cut the rope and fruit ninja. There were random games that didn't give out tickets, so if you are seriously trying to save up for that high ticket hot dog cooker or human sized mustached banana in the game room, you should pay attention. I would say it was a reasonably priced night for the entertainment we got out of it, both drinks and games. My only complaint is that we had several halfway full drinks taken away by busboys while we were playing games, which was frustrating. I understand there are lots of high schoolers around and you need to keep an eye on them, but it was like stealing money out of my pocket. Not cool. read more

When here with a bunch of friends for dinner and fun and had a great time. For dinner, I ordered the philly cheesesteak sandwich which was the best I have ever had in the Minneapolis area. The sandwich was huge and had a ton of meat, cheese, onions, and green onions. It came with fries which were good as well. I was really really surprised at how good the food was. We went during happy hour where drinks were half off. I ordered the Candy Shop which was amazing (I love my girly drinks!) It was sweet and tasted just like a jolly rancer with a zip. However, my boyfriend ordered their signature Million Dollar Margarita which was absolutely horrid. Tasted like rancid fruit. My other friend's drinks were good though. After dinner our waitress game us coupons to get a $20 game card for the price of $10. If you are getting the game card for the first time, you will need to pay an additional $2, however it is reusable. They had a variety of games- Deal or No Deal, racing games, shooting games, skee ball, air hockey, hoop games, and tons and tons of those addictive coin pusher games. After using up all of our points, we were able to use our tickets to get a D&B drinking glass at the large prize store. They also have stuff animals (Bart, Homer, teddy bears, Brian from Family guy, etc.), tons of toys, video games, etc. Anyways, a fun place to drink and hang out with friends (although I wish they would further limit the number of minors allowed in... too many kids running around.) read more

This was my first experience at a Dave & Buster's, and it was not pleasant. Our waitress Lilly was absolutely horrible and rude. I've worked in the food industry, and am willing to give some leeway, but this was ridiculous. We met up with friends to watch the Vikings game this past Sunday. On the website, there is a lot of advertising for game day specials, great atmosphere to watch games, etc. Maybe you should relay that information to your waitstaff, because she was trying to get us out of the restaurant as soon as possible. We were clearly there to eat and enjoy the game, and didn't appreciate feeling rushed. Lilly was also really bad at replenishing drinks, even though the dining area wasn't that busy. She would grab an empty glass from our table without asking if a refill was needed. One person in our group waited 20 minutes before he was able to get another beer. We started going up to the bar to refill drinks because our waitress was nowhere to be found. In fact, any time we asked for anything e.g. an extra plate, extra silverware, ranch dressing, etc. it was like we were inconveniencing her. She was not pleasant at all. Our group was about 9 people, and a few showed up later into the game. She started taking all the menus off of the table, even though we explained others were on their way. Our group spent $200+ and we probably would've spent more had our waitress been more attentive, and less rude. I don't think we will ever come back. I feel bad giving a one-star rating because the Maker's Mark burger was one of the best burgers I've ever eaten, but you seriously need to do something about the service. read more

Now I didn't want to come here in the first place because I don't like video games anymore, plus I just thought this place would be really bunk, I'm getting old I guess. Anyways, I stopped in here last weekend with 5 of my buddies and was pleasantly surprised. I got a lot of humor out of this place, most of my friends went and played some games while me and another guy settled in at the bar. It was a great place to people watch. Where else can you go and see 40 year old dudes taking video games all serious and crap, I had more than my fair share of laughs. At the bar area, they had TVs with sports on, and the service was fast and friendly. I didn't try the food because it never occurred to me that they might have decent food, plus we just had dinner elsewhere. Beware though, this place is rather loud! Didn't realize that to play games required you to buy a "play card" and none of the machines took money. There were several kids running around, and by advertisements and the fact that there is a bar in the establishment, I was thinking that it was an adults only venue. Guess I was wrong. After dodging rugrats and wandering around some, my friend and I bellied up to the bar. The bartender guy was ok, the woman bartender was a bitch. Some woman that was a regular kept trying to chat us up, but finally left after we had to make it crystal clear we weren't interested in chatting or sleeping with her, because she made a point of telling us several times her kid was with her ex for the weekend and was home alone. Word of advice! Eat somewhere else before you come play games here!!! The service here is below average. I'm not saying that our server was rude, she was actually quite nice but that didn't make up for the fact for everything that took place that night. Our beers took 10 minutes to get to our table, she couldn't remember drinks that were ordered and had to come back and ask. (just write it down and you won't have that issue) After ordering our food, we waited for quite some time before the first plate came out which was chicken and ribs. My friend started eating and eating and eating, and still our food wasn't out. He was over HALFWAY done before the rest of the food came out. And to top it off, the BLT turkey burger that i ordered came out as a avocado turkey sandwich. I didn't care because I was too hungry to send it back. It was a good sandwich, i'll give them that. We ordered a second round of drinks which took anywhere from 6-10 minutes again to get to our table. I'm don't usually complain and this whole experience didn't really ruin my evening, i just wanted to tell it how it was. People less patient than I would of had a field day with this type of service. I understand there are things that the server can't control, like when the food comes out or if the bartender makes the drinks quickly. But this should all be watched by management and controlled a lot better than it is right now. Games- Not much has changed since i've been there over two years ago. Maybe 2 or 3 new games but everything has stayed the same so we just stick to the blinking light games that get you tickets. So this is my honest review!
