My saga begins with me calling the service department at Dave Sinclair Buick to request a quote to program a new ECU in a 2000 Buick Lesabre. The lady I spoke with told me that it would be $80 For the service so I agreed to the price and set an appointment. Since the car was not running I had to pay to have the car towed to the dealership and as soon as I started the check in process the trouble started. The man at the counter said the price would be $160 per hour. After about 30 minutes talking to him at check in I had to leave so I told them to just call me when they figured out pricing. I got a call back a while later from the service department manager and he said he would go back and listen to the call when I got the quote for $80. A couple hours later he calls back and says they will do it for $80 even though they couldn't find the call. The next day I get a call wanting more money (at least 6 hours at $160 per hour) naturally I decline because they still couldn't guarantee that would be enough. So I go back and give them their $82.50 And pay another tow truck to haul the car home. So I decided to cut my losses with the car and sold it for way less that it was worth as a running car since I wasn't sure what was wrong with it. The same day I sold the car the buyer took it to his mechanic who had the car a grand total of 15 minutes and all that was needed want to scrub the info out of the ECU and reprogram it. ( This is exactly what I just paid Dave Sinclair to do) Now I get fairly angry because between the tow truck twice and the $82.50 to the shop I'm losing money on the car. I called and asked to speak with someone to file a complaint about the service department and I get a call back from one of the owners of the dealership. I explain my situation to him and tell him I want a refund since obviously they did nothing to the car and when he declined I told him that he would never get any business from me or my family again his response was "Have you ever been a customer before?" When I said no his response was "well were not losing anything are we?" I wasn't asking to be reimbursed for the tow truck but I at least expect a refund for the service I didn't receive. Funny thing is, they let an $82.50 screw up and smart ass attitudes cost them 3 new vehicle sales. My mom was looking at an Acadia and both of my brothers in law were looking at full size crew cab trucks. Needless to say when I told them about my experience they went down to Sapaugh to make their purchases. Please if your looking for a new vehicle or service go anywhere but here. Mike Johnson took great care of me when I brought my car in for the emissions and safety inspections. Turns out I had a bulb out that would have failed the safety inspection so he came out and informed me of this and gave me a detailed breakdown on how much it would cost to replace the bulb. WOW!!!!! I should start by saying that I have received good service in the past at this dealership. However, this should be my last review as I have no plans to go back. Ever Again. I had my check engine light come on a week or two prior, but didn't think much of it. Then my 2015 Chevy Colorado completely died on the on ramp to the highway. Fortunately, I was aware and popped in neutral and it started right back up. I proceeded to call my go to guy at Dave Sinclair Service and explain this safety concern but was informed I was out of my warranty. My plan was to go to Auto Zone for a free diagnostic test since Dave Sinclair Service Department will charge $165 for the same test. This did not happen but three days later I receive a GM letter that is not a recall but rather an informative notice about.... MY EXACT SYMPTOMS!!! I found it very odd that after my recorded conversation with Dave Sinclair Service Department that I get this letter in the mail. Now fast forward a week later when it dies on me again, this time on a side street. I make another call and informed my go to guy again that I received a letter in the mail with my exact problem. He says to bring it in and the rental is $30 a day. This is a vehicle that I drive my two little girls in and a genuine safety concern and now I'm being told that not only I could end up paying a diagnostic fee but also $30 a day for everyday they keep it. I asked if there was a way to waive the rental fee and he puts me on hold to ask his boss. Now enters Mr.Sinclair himself. After starting from scratch with my story, he rambles off the same options which at this point, was not only an insult to the safety of my family and I, but an appalling representation of his family name. I had to get off the phone with this guy. At this point, my frustration level was very high until I called ELCO Chevrolet. I explained my same problem and Hannah. set me up with an appointment, a free rental, and the piece of mind knowing that maybe safety does outweigh money making. No Service Manager needed here, just a genuine concern for the customer. Normally, it takes something very good or very bad for me to waste an hour or more of my life on a review, but I am so outraged at this experience, this had to be done, Just like I am done with the Dave Sinclair Service Department. read more

Update, I was contacted by the General Sales Manager/(GSM), he apologized for the "taking it personally" by his staff. The GSM offered to make the deal good, without making it personal. The GSM also said that he is going to provide training to the folks needing it. I felt like the GSM was genuine in his sales offer & training solution. I'm still not ready to make a deal at this time - I'm a little gun shy after this encounter. That is a TON of money to me. read more

In and out with a new vehicle in a couple hours total, including the introduction, test drive, deal, and finance. I went in for an oil change and tire rotation that was included in my new vehicle purchase. After about 45 minutes or so the man helping me gave me my papers in the waiting room and told me it was complete and ready to go. He said they would bring me my keys and pull my vehicle up near the door. After 20 -30 minutes I went back into the service department and asked where my car was since they never brought it up or my keys to me. They said that it was probably waiting to get a car wash. I went back to the waiting room and waited another 20 to 30 minutes. My vehicle was still not brought to me. I told them I don't want the car wash and need to leave for a meeting. They had me waiting another 15 minutes at the service department desk and then returned to tell me they lost my keys! They said they had 10 people looking for them and looked for another 15 minutes. Then they decided to program a new key and fob. The process of connecting my vehicle to the machine to make the key took another 30 minutes.I told the service department manager that I do not want to return to Dave Sinclair or other affiliated dealership due to the very poor service. I asked if he would reimburse me if I went to someplace like Jiffy Lube or Valvoline to get my last two oil changes and tire rotations. He said he could only reimburse me $35 for each. I called Jiffy Lube for an estimate for synthetic oil change and tire rotation and it was $116. This $35 is obviously not enough to cover the services. My husband and I have bought six vehicles from this very dealership and have been loyal customers. I feel like I should have been offered something for my time (with 2 children) and trouble at the dealership unnecessarily. read more

This place is a rippoff , Do not get your car worked on here, They will Lie ,Replace things you dont need.Tell you it will be 1 hour, only to take all day, After a few hours waiting ,they will offer to drive you home. I have caught them in boges repairs, 2 times, and been misdiagnosed 4 times. They will come up with all kinds of tricks to bilk you out of money. The times i caught them, they reversed the bill. They told me i needed a PC Brain that runs the Brakes. over $2,000, Wrong, it was a antilock wheel speed sensor bad, Lied and said it threw a PC code, Wrong, the only code that came up, after i left was a wheel sensor & fuel pressure valve, that by the way they didnt find, as they were busy ripping me off.And to fix the entermitent loss traction light that has been coming on every now and then. They show me a bullitain to fix this, $600.00 bucks to install a new pig tail & relay switch. After taking my car to another place ,It needed a sensor $300 bucks, now the light stopped coming on. only comes on now, when i lose traction, This must be the warning light that comes on when a wheel sensor goes bad. Told me they installed a daytime driving light $140.00, Talked to mechanic, he says, i put the blinker bulbs in backwards when i replaced them, he stated all he did was swap the bulbs that cost 3 bucks each, Somehow they charged me $140 bucks, till i complained to Dave JR, He removed the charge, This place has lied to me before. I contacted the Internet Department at this dealership about a week ago & spoke to Andrew LeBlanc. I let him know I did not live anywhere nearby, but was interested in a new GMC Terrain they had listed for $24,859. I told him I would need it shipped (and obviously wouldn't have a trade-in) and to please calculate the cost of shipping for me & let's try to work out a deal. He handed my information over to a sales associate, whom I spoke to on the phone, Tom Brown. He told me the vehicle was actually $27,133- over $2,200 more than it's listed for- and that the $24,859 listed on Cars.com was after trade assist & so forth. NONE of this was mentioned on Cars.com or in the days prior that I had been speaking with Andrew. Tom said he would talk to his manager & get back to me. I am a pretty calm & rational person, mind you, so I was very practical about this & told him I was willing to pay the asking price listed on Cars.com, plus reasonable shipping costs. THIS was their opportunity to make it right, but they did not. He e-mailed me letting me know the price was still firmly at $27,133 plus nearly $1,300 for shipping. He also mentioned that he "knows Cars.com was a little misleading." Cars.com wasn't misleading- this dealership put into practice a pricing model that is deceptive. The price listed should have been $27,133, because that is what anyone walking in off the street can expect to pay regardless of trade-in or what have you. Not only did they not try AT ALL to work anything out with me, but when I replied with my dissatisfaction I was completely ignored. They couldn't even muster up enough decency to reply to my e-mail. This dealership is exactly the reason the public does not trust car dealers- they are still using the old bait & switch method. To this dealership, I recommend looking into price transparency. To potential buyers, I wouldn't waste my time unless you appreciate a good lie. read more

We purchased a 2015 GMC Terrain Denali and while we are happy with the vehicle the purchase of the car was just so so. No one likes negotiating a purchase of a car. We don't like the back and forth between us and the mythical person behind the curtain that determines the value of our trade in. Our last purchase of a new jeep at a local dealership was so much more enjoyable. The manager actually came out to talk to us before evaluating our trade in. He was upfront and honest about his determination and we felt very comfortable with the end result. If that dealership would have had the brand we wanted we would have bought from them. Dave Sinclair could use a few lessons in meeting and working with potential customers and take all the mystery out of a car purchase. Let's get everything out in the open. And one other thing, we just dropped $31000 at your dealership and we can't seem to get answers to emails and notes left at the dealership concerning a missing part on our new car. I ended up having to call the service department directly to get the information I needed to get the part installed. So once the car is purchased and you have our money we just become another number in your book? read more

there was a recall for Oldsmobile's for the key from day one I had a problem after they did what was needed to keys the ignition switch is a pane now to turn I have to wiggle and force it which.i never had to before service was done, I live far away and was a long wait in the place, for such a simple fix so say I figured I would try and live with it but never got better I just had a appointment for them to fix and was told there was nothing after I drove all the way there, and acted like it was my problem ect bullshit. so after all this time my switch is getting worn out from and still tricky to use to start car I would never use them for a repair if I was you beware. read more

Went in for a great deal on an Encore. Called beforehand, I truly thought it would be gone. I was they still had to come on down. I was there 10 minutes later. I was called from the dealership as I was locking my car. The vehicle we were there to see, was supposed to be pulled up with a salesman ready for us. The salesman tried to find the keys, then all of a sudden an older couple were buying the vehicle we were waiting to test drive. They tried to up sell to make more money if of us. Well we were not having that. The sales manager came over talking down to us, not showing customer service skills whatsoever. We were there ready to buy, Dave Sinclair Buick does not budge and makes it seem like screwing up is your problem. I will never be back. II brought my 2011 Acadia in for minor service. When I bought this car in late December the axillary plug was not working. Also when I went to change the batteries in the two sets of headphones one set had a battery explode, so I was asking if the headphone would be replaced. I made my appointment on line, which was fantastic, because I did have to change the appointment a couple of times. I loved how easy it was to change the appointments! From the moment I was greeted at the service door to the moment I picked up my car I was so pleasantly surprised by the service. This is my first experience with Dave Sinclair my last car was purchased from a place on the Hill and every time I had service done on that car (which was often) I left in tears. This experience could not have been more different. Everything was taken care of the first time with no issues and they washed my car, which from a busy mom of two little girls, that was icing on the cake! I have never had a dealership work so hard for me! They were more than willing to work with me. I bought a used 2013 GMC Terrain. I knew that when I went to trade my vehicle I wouldn't get near what I was asking for but they were VERY willing to work with me to get what I wanted for the payments I was wanting. Even once I decided (thought I decided) on the vehicle I wanted, I went to the finance department and he worked on getting me the best interest rate possible. During the finance process, I ended up changing my mind on vehicles not once, not twice, but three times!! I know this makes me the worst consumer ever, but they were more than willing to still give me the time of day. To me, that spoke VOLUMES. I can honestly say that when it comes time for me to get another vehicle, Dave Sinclair will be the first place I will go! I had a 11:45 appt to get an oil change and correct a recall issue, I arrived before my appt. and eventually greeted by a woman by the last name of Pope. I was then told that my appt. time is not to get the oil changed but to see her! What?! She seemed flustered and gave me the impression she was unorganized or caught off guard and rushed me through the check in process then told me she would NOT be the one helping me so she was going to re-assign me to another gentlemen. I did get a shuttle ride into work was taken care of by Kevin, who did a great job. If I get assigned to 'Pope' again I would ask for another sales person. There are some good people in the service department, she is not one of them. read more

I have been a GM man my entire life my father built the vehicles for twenty plus years we would not own anything else . Lately I hear more and more derogatory things being said about the product. Still I stood up and said that was not the norm, Then today on a 2015 GMC Canyon with 18888 miles driven by a woman who has never hauled anything but loved the ride and quality she has had out of the last nine new GMC she has purchased. I am told that it is normal wear for a steering column shaft to go bad and all trucks make a loud clunking noise because the axle is supposed to move in and out when you hit a bump ( from the road to a drive way possibly a three inch rise) after all it is a truck and they think it is normal all trucks do that , Note they are able to determine this without any teardown and can determine any wear just by looking, As a result I find myself with the truth finally slapping me in the face GMC is turning out Crap and my friends were right. My god its the seventies all over and they solved the rust problems and put out anything and let buyer beware. read more

My new truck was dropped off the lift while in the service department at Dave Sinclair GMC. $21,577 in damages. I'm 1,000,000% dissatisfied with the experience I had with this dealership and the horrible customer service I've gotten through GM. I plan to spread the word about my experience with both. Also plan to file lawsuit against this dealership. My new vehicle isn't worth it's weight in scrap after the damages to my truck. This dealer should NOT be able to carry the GM name. I want my truck replaced with another one without damages at NO cost. Dan Sinclair has lied to me and told me that he would replace it at no cost. Until he realized that it would take money out of his own pocket. His slogan.."If it ain't right, I'll make it right, for free". Is an absolute lie. read more

I recently purchased a used vehicle from Dave Sinclair Buick GMC and I am quite satisfied overall with my experience. The staff were all friendly and helpful and my sales person was exceptional. I drove over 100 miles to their dealership because I was searching for a specific vehicle with specific features and they had one in stock with low mileage. Prior to my trip there the sales person worked closely with me on information I wanted before I was willing to make that long of a drive t purchase a vehicle. Fortunately they worked with me on my trade in value and price difference on the vehicle I was interested in. After my purchase I discovered an issue that I had not noticed that day when I was there and made my purchase. I contacted my sales person who put me in touch with Dan Sinclair to work on resolving the issue. Dan was great to work with and we soon had the issue resolved. My overall experience there was a very positive one. I would definitely go back again and I would recommend this dealership to anyone. read more

I had an appointment to drop my car off at 300 Tuesday, I dropped it off around 230 Neal checked it in and i left with my daughter. At around 630 in the evening i still had not heard anything, I called Neal he said that it had not been looked at yet, but he will get it looked at and call me right back. Finally at around 8 we decided to go see what was going on so that I could get a loaner car to get to work the next day. When we got to the shop it still had not even been looked at, I could not get a loaner car unless I paid for it. The only thing that was wrong with the car was the check engine light was going off and on, they said it was ok to drive to i just took it and we went home. When we got there at 8 Neal told me the reason that they did not look at it was because there was a power outage all that morning, he did not said anything about that when i dropped it off at 230. I was not very happy at all with the service, also while we were waiting for them to get my car someone else came in to drop off there car and it was pulled in immediately and they started looking at it. AWFUL place and HORRIBLE customer service. We were pressured into a deal and told over the phone we only had 10 minutes to make a decision about the vehicle since it was the last day of the month. We ended up purchasing the vehicle after Bob, the salesman, grabber my husband by the arm and pulled him into the office to sign papers. While signing the papers Bob stated to my husband and I that he knew I was the "weak one, because the weak one always does all of the talking and he knew he could get what he wanted out of me." We got the used truck home and noticed the front seat was completely damaged and loose. We called the dealership and they said to bring the truck back in to see if there was anything they could do. The dealership did fix the seat and Bob, our salesman, stated he wanted to take a picture with us and our new truck before we left. Most people would think this would be a happy "we just bought a new truck" photo. Instead my husband, Bob and I go out in front of the truck and Bob pulls out a sign that says in red capital letters "THIS TRUCK IS SOLD AS IS." Has anyone ever heard of a dealership doing this!? Lastly after owning the truck for less than 48 hours, we decided this truck was not good for our family and our experience at the dealership was very poor. We took the truck in less than 48 hours after purchasing it to the dealership to return it. We sat down with Dan Sinclair and told him the circumstances. Dan Sinclair stated they were unable to return the truck and the Explorer we traded in had already been "sold." He said he could place us in a different truck that may suit us better, but they would not let us return our truck. After continuing to talk with Dan and stating we would get a lawyer and contact news stations regarding our experience, he stated he would talk with his dad, Dave Sinclair and see if there was anything they could do. Dan came back in and stated "he was unable to get ahold of his Dad and for us to go home because he had a meeting he had to go to for a hour and he would call us later." What kind of customer service is that?! I refused to go home and asked for the phone number of Dave Sinclair, as well as the phone number of the wholesaler whom our explorer was supposedly "sold to already." Dan stated he would be right back with the phone numbers. In about 20 minutes Dan Sinclair came back with the number to Dave Sinclair, I never received the number to the wholesaler and Dan stated he would give us our Explorer back and we could return the truck if we paid a $150,00 "restocking fee." Dan stated we would be able to meet with his dad, Dave Sinclair regarding the issue. In short, we never once met Dave Sinclair who was supposedly going to talk with us. So I don't know how many lies we were told by this dealership. Long story short, we got the Explorer back after being lied to saying it was "SOLD TO A WHOLESALER." We returned the truck and were forced to pay a $150.00 re-stocking fee after being forced to take a "THIS TRUCK IS SOLD AS IS" picture and having multiple things wrong with the truck. We had a horrible experience with this dealership and Bob Isleman and Dan Sinclair. We will never be returning to this dealership or any of the Dave Sinclair dealerships again. Hopefully this will help someone else out. read more
