We have practically lived at Colorado Wine Company for the past 5 years and for some reason have never tried Dave's Chillin'-N-Grillin'. Boy, were we missing out. This place totally rocks! Needed a nice sandwich on Saturday so stopped in and ordered their Turkey Melt with Peppa Spread. Everything was perfect, the bread, the turkey, the cheese and THE SPREAD!!! Yum. Major yum. Been talking about trying this place for like a year now. Finally tried it out earlier this week and already have been back. Great sandwiches with fresh ingredients. We ordered the hot beef melt and a turkey melt on rosemary bread. It was perfection across the board. Amazing tender and seasoned beef, turkey was juicy and the bread was amazing. Combined it was an amazing lunch that ran us less than $10 each. Super high quality, great prices, amazing bread, non-hipster joint, an owner who cares about what he's serving you. I had the hodgepodge last week, I greedily ate the entire thing, full of MEAT....thankfully the bread is so light and fluffy, I didn't come out of Dave's feeling so fluffy, hehehe.......our family loves this place so much, when we tell our 2 year old daughter we are going to Dave's, she happily says, "We are going to Dave's house!", she is as eager as we are to see Dave. This is one of my favorite sandwich shops in Los Angeles. Dave, the owner, is one of the nicest guys around and he has truly mastered the art of sandwich making. He uses high quality ingredients and frequently buys from the farmers market on Fridays that happens right next door. This is a plus because it makes the place more eco-friendly. I have been to Dave's many times and tried a number of the sandwiches that he offers. My favorite is the roast beef melt, although I haven't had any that I did not like. He also frequently has new sandwiches as specials, so the menu always has something fresh to try. Also, if you go, Dave makes the best smoothies. When it is crowded, it is nice to get a smoothie while you wait for your sandwich to be made (because it may take a few minutes). The only problem with this place is that sometimes they run out of ingredients for a particular sandwich you are looking for. However, I don't few this as a negative, but instead view it as an opportunity to try a new sandwich rather than going for one of my old favorites. On the whole, if you are rolling through Eagle Rock and are looking for a place to grab lunch with a friendly laid back environment, Dave's is the place for you. read more

Dave's makes subs with lots of flavor especially a Great meatball sub and a sausage sub (although I recommend the combination of the two when they offer it). their red pepper spread if they use it on your sandwich tastes great. Absolutely the BEST tuna melt I have EVER had. Dave is the friendliest host I have ever experienced in a sandwich shop. Several workers asked me how my meal was. And it was perfect - bread toasted crispy but not burnt, tuna salad firm, not gloppy, delicious sauce, fresh tomato, 2 cheeses. The smoothie was also perfection. This place is too Legit to quit... i only eat their "Roast beef melt" 3 times a week. I have to control my self not to eat it everyday. on Wednesdays they have a B-B-Q sandwich so Good that it sells out by 11Am. Went there for the first time today. I got the Pastrami Sandwich and it was very excellent. You can tell that they really care about the quality of the food. All the meat is hand sliced for each order, they have a good variety of sandwiches and a daily special almost every day.
