I was told to try the mashed potatoes and fried chicken and also that the burgers were delicious. I ordered a burger well done with mashed potatoes on the side. Mine was perfect! My friend ordered the same thing with onion rings and she got French fries and a pink burger. I was glad she got the fries as they were so good as well. Great service from the start. Showed up around 8:00pm on friday night and got seated right away. Waitress was very attentive and took our drink order right away. Dave's diner offered a nice variety of brunch foods. The pancakes are perfectly sweetened and delicious. I had the Cobb Salad - huge helpings and no need for dressing it was so flavorful. The only downside is that before noon you can't get the whole menu (no chicken pot pie or anything with gravy), which they didn't specify on the menu. read more

This place is great! We used to go more often but havent been in a while. The atmosphere is fun and inviting. Its a time warp similar to johnny rockets decor. Today my husband and I order a buffalo chicken wrap with fries and a fried chicken dinner. The food came out in a fast manner. It was very good and the service was excellent. I LOVE Dave's diner! Definitely one of the last authentic looking diners still around. I was new to town and didn't know where to go to eat. I happened to just give this place a try since I passed by it everyday and it turned out to be actually really good food! I usually go there for their breakfast menu (Elvis pancakes, and the steak tips & eggs dinner is my fav) but, their baked fried chicken is actually bomb too. I bought a bucket one time as a last minute thing for a little get together at my house, passed it off as my own homemade cooking and fooled all my guests lol. All the staff are always friendly and welcoming. I plan on moving out of Middleboro soon and I can honestly say this will be one of the food spots I will miss....or will have to take the trip back out to visit! read more

My boyfriend and I come here at least once a week! The waitstaff are all so kind and management is always on top of everything. Tables get cleaned quickly and restaurant overall is really cozy. A Flash to the past! So refreshing to eat in such a nostalgic way. Complete with a shiny metal finish to the exterior, to 50-60's music playing in the background, to ole fashion diner like seats at the counter, to booths along the windows. People travel far and often to this place. I know several travelers that come from Boston just to enjoy this place as the treasure that it is to Middleboro. The staff is very friendly and the service is equally as good. If you have never been here before, it is the place to try. THE FOOD IS OUTSTANDING ! I have not ordered anything I did not thoroughly enjoy. The fish 'n' chips and the fried chicken are among the best. The portions are large and the prices are reasonable. Got to try out Dave's over Memorial Day weekend while camping up the street. Love the interior decor, very retro, very cool! Had breakfast with the husband and we both loved it. Eggs, home fries, crispy bacon, great coffee. That's all I want in a diner breakfast and I got it. Service was fast and friendly. Just enough time to read over the menu so I know I'm going back for dinner when we camp nearby again this October. Five stars. read more

RIDICULOUS fried chicken, eat-in or take out by the box (with a la carte sides). Biscuits so buttery. Blueberry pancakes the morning before were the size of hubcaps, with what looked like 2 cups of fruit in the 3 cakes. Real foamy draft root beer. Simply, an amazing two meals. read more

My husband and I drag our exhausted, hung-over selves 45 minutes north for breakfast at Dave's as often as we can. It's worth the trip for us because their food is amazing! I have stopped here for lunch numerous times en route to the Cape and have never been disappointed. A blast from the past. For those who remember the songs of the 50' & 60's, you will get a kick out of the names of various dishes on the menu. Service is quick and food is excellent. What really impresses me is how they keep the diner so clean. I love diners but find many are not as well maintained. I LOVE this place. The decor is so cute, the waitstaff is always friendly & quick, no matter how busy it gets, and the food is seriously AMAZING. Great prices, too, and large portions. I highly recommend their chicken quesadilla - I forget exactly what it's called, but it is amazing. The pancakes are perfectly fluffy with a buttery flavor, and their specialty pancakes are to die for. I am especially enamored with the Elvis pancakes. I like Daves , my only small gripe (more of a personal pet peeve) is going to a place where the items on the menu aren't clearly stated for what they are.. for example..if I want to order a bbq bacon cheese burger, or a chicken sandwich i don't like having to weed through a sea of 50's diner cliches like "the Big Bopper" "the Jerry Lee Lewis" "the Betty Boop".. i just want a burger dammit !! but other than that, they do a great breakfast, linguica & cheese omelet is fantastic, meatloaf and mashed potatoes at night are really good too! read more

I meet with friends quite often on Sunday morning for breakfast. We go to various breakfast restaurants seeking good food, atmosphere and service. We recently visited Dave's Diner in Middleboro and were pleasantly surprised. The food is excellent, the waitresses (all of them) will walk around to all tables offering more coffee. Yesterday, I think the waitresses asked us no less than 5 times if we wanted more coffee. The food is great. I had a 3 egg omelette with sausage, bacon, onions, peppers & jack/cheddar cheese and substituted baked beans for the homefries. Others had homemade hash with poached eggs & two eggs w/sausage links, homefries and toast. The portions were large, food very good and service was excellent. They also have weekly and weekend specials. Last week there was a barbecue hash w/eggs & another was brisket w/eggs. My friends complimented both of these dishes. read more
