I can only handle the hot, the very hot was just a bit too spicy for myself with the strip itself but with the slaw and cheese on the sandwich it was doable (consider myself pretty good with heat). So this is going to be a schizoid review. Schizoid because I appreciate they have a lot going for them and I think it's good...I just didn't like the taste. But that's strictly my personal take and it doesn't reflect on the quality of the food or service. Last Saturday on our way to Sams Club we stopped here for a quick bite and my daughters wanted to check it out, my little one thinks the logo is funny. The place is very clean and service was friendly and fast. The portions are huge, these are some of the biggest tenders I've seen and they are cooked very well and tasty. I ordered the medium, hubby ordered the extra hot, daughters ordered mild. Here's where my problem is...I had never had chicken this style before, and was not expecting the seasoning to be like this dusty and sugary...and I didn't like it. I appreciate the chicken is very well cooked, but I tried my medium tenders and my daughters' and husband's mid and extra hot...and you can definitely taste sugar in the seasoning and the texture just wasn't for my liking. So I recommend this place if you're in the mood for chicken and know what type of recipe this is or if you want to experiment. But I just didn't like it. Would I return? Yes, if a group was gathering here I'd probably just ask for plain tenders or maybe the lite mild, sure. Just didn't like the seasonings. read more

Love Dave's! I come to this location most frequently on my lunch break from work. The drive thru service is always super fast which is great when you only have a short break. Chicken is consistently hot and fresh. The tenders are quite large, so even if you only get two it's a substantial portion. I love the slaw that comes on the sliders and the "hot" level is perfect for sliders in my opinion, as the slaw cuts through the heat nicely. read more

Went on opening day. It's... a daves. They're pretty consistent and it hits the spot if you're craving hot chicken but it's certainly nothing special or hot. Kids were nice but obviously still learning. This location does the incredibly cringe waiver for reaper level, and it's not even as hot as Hattie B's regular hot. I don't know why but that really pisses me off. Addison location mercifully skips that. Anyway I'll be back because this is 4 minutes from my house and Hattie B's and Palmer's, while VASTLY superior, are 30 minutes away. There are also no crackheads around here. read more

Dave's Hot Chicken Let's start with the counter the woman that took the order seamed to not like the job she didn't have a smile nothing just blank and asking her about the levels of heat she was a bit misleading, so I didn't get a heat level at all she said the medium was habanero hot which it was not. Prices the prices are steep and not worth the amount of food given I could go to some place like Laynes and get good quality chicken and more for the money then the combos drink is not included. Now the chicken the chicken itself is juicy and has good flavor but not the flavor I wanted nor the heat but that was from being misled, the fries are crinkle cut and fried almost perfect. Recommend lowering prices or adding a lil more for the buck. I give it 3 stars but for me I will not be coming back unless prices change and the front needs to know what they are selling it's not only the chicken it's the service in which you get so this needs to be stepped up. Attempted to eat here twice on my way home from business trips in the area, but they won't take orders over the phone? What's the point of a phone then? Unfortunately, I don't have the ability to order online when I'm driving, but would've been nice (both times) for the employees to take a phone order. Luckily, there's a handful of similar hot chicken places in the area with just as much (if not better) food. But definitely better service. I went here to enjoy lunch with a coworker on break. We came in and noticed the very cool walls and look of the place. We went to the front and ordered, the cashier was very nice and helpful with the menu items. When we were told the price we were definitely a little surprised but overall got a good vibe from the place. We took our seats and waited for the food to come out. After people who had ordered after us were getting their food before us we went to the front to ask when it would be ready. They told us there was a machine malfunction and the food would be out shortly. Eventually we got our food. After the first bite we were a little blown away, the chicken was extremely juicy, the bread was nice and buttery, and the extra pickles on the side added a nice side to the meal. Overall our experience wasn't great but the food was outstanding from other chicken places. However the price was definitely not as good as competitors.
