Solid fried chicken place. I got the slider with fries with mild spice. I like you can choose and customize it in that sense. The sandwich has some pickles and coleslaw however, I would've liked to have some lettuce in addition for added crunch and greens. The special sauce is a perfect addition and loved the riveted fries. Could be a wait if there's a line during work hours, but they are generally efficient with keeping things flowing. Every time we come here, I always ask for extra Dave's sauce and honey on the side. I don't know if they were having an off day at this location, but our chicken was over-cooked. The flavor was good, but it was a bit crispy and dry. On the other hand, the fries were cooked and seasoned to perfection. The mac n cheese was creamy, cheesy, and very tasty. Personally, it wasn't spicy at all for me, but your mileage may vary. The ranch is really good which I'm picky about, so I was stoked on that so I could drench my chicken in it. Lol! Their Mac n cheese is really good too. The only hiccup which happened twice was that the website didn't work when I ordered & paid. When I showed up there was no record of my order so I had to reorder and pay in the store. Finally got to try Dave's Hot Chicken in the SW! Still remember when this location was a 7-11 off Rainbow by the I-215, but it is redesigned now. There's plenty of parking out front and the inside is a nice open space with multiple tables for dining. We walked in on a weekday and placed order for dinner. There was a short wait for the food, but we got drinks from the soda machine while waiting. They also gave us sauces when the food came hot sauce, ketchup, honey, and Dave's sauce. Made my own drink iced tea and lemonade. Our order was called and the food was hot and fries were crispy. The portion of my chicken on slider in my opinion is small, if you hungry you may need 2 sliders or extra tenders. I liked the pickles and slaw. We were hesitant to go late at night because we always end up disappointed in the half-a$$ food and bad service we receive. But wow, I'm so happy we went! We walked in and were greeted so pleasantly by SHARLEE. She had such an amazing personality and was really helpful. I believe it was the manager we talked to as well who was super nice! They managed to completely lose my order, then made me wait over 30 minutes for... wait for it... a small top-loaded fries. No apology, no urgency, just that "why are you talking to me?" look. Gold-star leadership right there. Oh, and here's a fun bonus -- check the tip amount before you hit pay. When I tipped 10% for a fast food order, it magically charged me 20%. Happened twice. I don't know if that's illegal, but I cancelled it and entered my tip manually both times. First I will start by saying the food here is great! Fresh, hot, and crispy chicken! Cooked to perfection. The staff at the front desk, also a very nice guy! Only problem I ran into was with the ordering. I had a gift card, and ordered on the app for pickup. Once the order was placed, I got a confirmation number and pickup time on the app, as well as a confirmation email with the same information and confirming the charge to the gift card. I drove to the restaurant and waited for the confirmed pick up time. Once I walked in, there is a cool feature they have on a screen that lets you know what orders are being prepared, and which orders are ready. I noticed a few names on the "online orders" portion, but none of them were mine. I waited in line to see what was going on, and as I was waiting in line, I got a cancelation email (20 mins after ordering) saying my order didn't go through. I ordered the food around 6:40, my pick up time was 7, and got a cancelation email at 7:02 saying my order never went through. When I let the employee at the front know, he didn't know what happened. I then re ordered the food, and charged it to the same gift card. Which was fine, but now I had to wait an additional 20 mins for the food to be ready when I should have been able to grab the order and go home. I understand this may not be the store's fault, and probably their system/app. Either way, this needs to be fixed so this doesn't happen to others waiting to pick up food. In the currently oversaturated world of chicken strips and sandwiches, there are now many choices. Here is a list of places that have never charged me anything for extra sauce: Chick-fil-a, Super Chix, Zaxby's & even the overpriced Crack Shack. I'm fairly certain that I haven't been charged at Houston's or Hattie B's but it's been a while so I'm not certain. I hadn't been charged at Dave's, even the airport location until today. They charged my $.75 for an extra packet of Dave's sauce. A packet, not even a cup. I dip my fries in it as well and actually like it, unlike that nasty stuff that Raising Caine's has. $.75 for one packet. Like I said, I like their food but they managed to hit their tipping point.
